Just out of curiosity, how do we know these pics aren't from the filming of the first movie?

"To Punish and Enslave"

Barricade was pretty awesome in the first movie, even if he punked out of the final battle. Hope to see more of him this time.

On an unrelated note, please stop the "first" ****, people. If you wanna act like degenerate retards, take it to AICN where it belongs.

This just in! phobia79 didn't like the movie! Film at 11!

Posted by: Batman on March 28, 2008 at 03:23:57

phobia79, what would you have preferred? A bunch of robots from an alien planet, who just happen to already look like Earth vehicles complete with wheels and exhaust pipes, sit in the side of a mountain for a few million years and then, after being reactivated, randomly gain hundreds of new allies with no explanation whatsoever?

A movie about giant robot cars costs a lot of money, and if it wanted to make that money back, it couldn't just cater to the fanboys, but appeal to a larger audience.

Christ, didn't people shut the hell up about this last summer?

I only have one word to describe the photos.

COOL!

They're probably on their way to the junk yard. Heard its the primary filming location for this sequel these days...

They seriously need to market that Decepticon police shield. It would make for a cool T-shirt at least.

Filming is starting on Transformers 2?? Is it June already?? ;)

All I can say is I hope Barricade IS in the second film...so we can see Optimus impale that robotic bastard with his sword..

Michael Bay ruined the first transformers!!!! stupid **** !!!!

Posted by: MichaelBayISGay on March 28, 2008 at 04:22:37

Well it wouldn't be that hard for Michael Bay to start filming now. I mean it's not like he needs a STORY with a plot and other meaningless things like GOOD dialogue and character development...Just alot of flames and explosions and stuff.

I'll admit I wasn't that keen on the Transformers movie has it didn't keep to the original Transformers very well. But upon watching it again I realised that IF they had stuck to the original then your going to be looking at something where weight and mass of things didnt make sense ie

Megatron turning into a gun.... Problem with this is he shrinks in size.. So in reality it wouldn't of worked.

After this consideration I appreciated what Transformers was/is and how well it was put together storywise. I liked the new spin on the all spark etc so yeah THUMBS UP from me.

Can't wait to see what the sequel is going to be like. I've heard rumours megatron could become galvatron.

I thought the transformers movie was excellent. Best movie of the year. Ok maybe it didnt stick to the original story but that, as previously stated, would have been rediculous. Barricade should be in the second one aswel as starscream as they both S#@T out of the final fight. I can see parts of the animated movie being made in the second one, for example: Starscream thinking he is the new leader of the decepticons and Megatron coming back as Galvatron to make him think otherwise. would be good to see more G1 charcters too. Cant wait for the sequel.

Don't follow the link above, it eventually leads to spam pages! There is no clip!!

On topic:

"A bunch of robots from an alien planet, who just happen to already look like Earth vehicles complete with wheels and exhaust pipes"

In the original series, the Transformers were given Earth veihicle forms AFTER millions of years passed, just watch the first episode.

I don't think change is bad, but I would have liked to see Megatron with an Earth form (not a handgun!).

Also, my 2 main gripes with the movie are:

1. Robot designs are too jumbled, making it hard to distinguish between them during the fast-cut, zoomed in, blurry action sequences;

2. They focused most of the movie on the humans, instead of the robots. Almost no character development whatsoever. Although I have to say: the scene where Barricade interrogates Sam gives us a perfect view of what that decepticon is all about.

Still, it is an enjoyable film.

Sorry about the rant.

yeah. this movie has a bigger budget so more transformers actually fight or somethin. but it will smoke wolverine maybe? who knows? we will find out next year.

i agree with mike, we didnt get enough character development with the robots, especially jazz =( ...whos dead now

"In the original series, the Transformers were given Earth veihicle forms AFTER millions of years passed, just watch the first episode."

I'm talking about their robot forms. Optimus had wheels on his legs, exhaust pipes on his shoulders, a grill on his stomach and windshield pecs while on Cybertron. That can work in an '80s cartoon, but the suspension of disbelief is not as easy with a live action film.

The original tv show was really just a 20-min toy ad (seriously, look up the wiki article, folks, the toys came first) so I don't understand people's complaints about the movie being a toy & car ad.

As far as the humans being the focus, keep in kind they had to reel in people who would normally not be seeing a movie about giant robots (how else do you make more than $700 mil?) in order to establish the franchise. I trust that, with the film series already rooted, the bots will be allowed to take center stage without public resistance.

Not to be a nayer-sayer or anything - but I think it's more likely that this snapper took he pics AGES ago and has now decided to say they were just taken so he can be the first scooper and get everyone excited.

But thats just me.

can't fricken wait!

Posted by: Mantronix on March 28, 2008 at 07:24:15

Need to see Jazz back if possible, also add 4 more autobots.

Posted by: buck on March 28, 2008 at 07:28:07

I want to see a proper optimus/megatron fight.thats the only thing that sucked about the first movie.well that and optimus not wearing his face mask.oh and megan fox not being nakid.ummmm magan fox.

Posted by: Sithlord on March 28, 2008 at 07:44:09

"megan fox not being nakid"?????

she SHOULD be nakid in this one. Jazz comes back from the dead. She helps him recover while the other fight. Megan and Jazz have a moment, and she gets curious to see his mechanical cybertronian sex tool. We see them get it on. Sam walks in on them. Cries like a little b*tch. Jazz B*tch slaps him for walking in. etc....

If Micheal Bay puts this scene in the movie, I'm asking for my cut of the money.
