Danggg... Gen. Ross has a lot of medals.

i was skeptical at first, not of his acting ability which is obviously great, but of how he would look as thunderbolt ross. but now that i see this photo all my doubts are gone

William Hurt, looks great as General Ross, I enjoyed, him in The Village, Kiss of The Spiderwoman with Raul Julia, if I've ever seen that one, and Lost in Space. The Incredible hulk will be his best role as it was for Sam Elliot in 2003.

Actually Tony, he doesn't have a single medal on that uniform, nor is he supposed to. Those are ribbons. Yes, there is a difference. Those other pins are badges marking schools he's been to, the one on the left is airborne, the one on the right is air assault, and the one above the ribbons just means he is infantry, the wreath means combat veteran in an infantry role. Crossed rifles on his colar thing also means infantry. The Ross badge on the left means his name is Ross... lol

Kind of wonder why he didn't wear his qualification badge though...
And for a general, that's not really that many ribbons, some have so many some go on the other side...

He just looks kinda weird to me with that wig, Bring back Sam Elliot!!!please.(Much better casting)

Yes... They will stop everything now, reshoot all the Ross scenes with Elliot just so you can rest at ease.
I think he looks great, can't even recognize it's hurt.

Sam Elliot was damn-near perfect as the General. It's a shame they didn't keep him, but hopefully Hurt can do what he CAN do, if you know what I mean. He'll be good, but I hope he's suitable. He at least looks the part.

Doesn't look like a trailer, or sound like a trailer. Nope, it is in fact a BIG picture when all we want is a BLOODY TRAILER!!!!!
Msg to Marvel/Universal - 8 out of 10 people don't know this movie exists.

Very goodlikness to past art work, Sam Elliott then was an excellent choice Hurt will do justice.

I was kind of sceptical when I heard Hurt was playing Gen. Ross, as I still had the awesome image of Sam Elliott in my head. But now I'm a little more optimistic.

Are we supposed to be excited!? It's William Hurt with a moustache... Show us a picture of the Hulk, or for god's sake a teaser. the_incredible_616 is right, a lot of people don't even know this movie exists. I check SHH! almost every day, but 90% of my friends don't, and a lot of them are oblivious to this film's existence. Not exactly the best way to hype a blockbuster.
Anyway, he certainly looks the part, but of all the previous film's flaws, Sam Elliot was by far the diamond in the rough. If they should have kept anything, it was definitely him. And maybe Jennifer Connolly... Liv Tyler annoys me. And come to think of it, as great as Ed Norton is, all the pompous crap about him coming in and rewriting the script has me a little turned off. This movie could be great, or it could be an under-hyped, over-thought re-imagining that ends up being a Hulk-sized failure.

IVE STOOD UP FOR UNIVERSAL/MARVEL A COUPLE OF TIMES OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS BUT I WILL FREELY ADMIT IVE NO IDEA WHY THEIR RELEASING THIS RUBBISH WHEN WE HAVE NO OFFICIAL POSTER OR TEASER OR TRAILER.
THEY TO STOP SHOWING US STILLS OF HURT AND NORTON AND SHOW US THE ****ING HULK SMASHING SOME ****.
GODDAMNIT IF THEIR CRAPPY MARKETING KILLS THIS MOVIE AT THE BOXOFFICE IM GONNA BE PISSED.
GIVE US SOME GREEN GOODNESS - NOW!

"And come to think of it, as great as Ed Norton is, all the pompous crap about him coming in and rewriting the script has me a little turned off."
If he rewrote it, there was a reason to. As it is, it's the summer blockbuster I'm least interested in but I find it ridiculous you'd have a closed-mind about a film you know nothing about. So people don't know it exists? So what? My friends have never heard of The Breakfast Club. Doesn't mean it's bad. As it is, TIH has a better cast than the first film and, from everything we've heard, is a lot more promising.
Posted by: Kyle on March 7, 2008 at 07:44:58
Promising, yes. My mind is not closed to a film I know nothing about. In fact, my mind is open, and absorbent as a sponge, waiting to learn something, anything, about a film I currently know nothing about. But so far all I know is that the lead actor rewrote the script, which almost never happens. So how bad was the original? And how much better is Norton's? I just don't know.
I'm not worried about the movie. I have faith in Marvel, but even if this movie ends up being as great is CAN be, if non-comic book fans who are unaware and unexcited don't show up at the box office, will it get a sequel? This could easily be the perfect Hulk movie, and if it is, I'll be pissed if the marketing value plummets and no one backs a sequel.
You read me?

I'm pleasantly surprised. Hurt does look the roll, and he has the credentials to pull it off. Sam Elliot, though very good has a laidback type persona. So, "the proof is in the pudding" in a manner of speaking. Lets hope the lack of hype is purely to let IronMan provide the intro, with our under played 'mean 'n green' friend providing the "grand finale" for MARVEL.

please stop whining about the trailer, u have to wait for the actual movie to decide if it's good anyways
Posted by: Duneboy on March 7, 2008 at 08:30:12
He's one helluva actor! No doubt he's gonna kick ass as Ross. Sorry to see jennifer Connelly out of this new film. She was great as Betty Ross in Hulk.
