Ryan Reynolds to Play Deadpool?

Let's recap... Ryan Reynolds told us the following a couple of weeks ago:

CS: You were under consideration for "The Flash," correct?
Reynolds: Uh huh.

CS: Are there any other superheroes you'd be interested in playing?
Reynolds: Basically for me there are two superheroes that I could play. One would be Deadpool, the other would be The Flash. There are no imminent plans to do either just now.

CS: Why Deadpool?
Reynolds: He's just the "merc with a mouth". For me I guess it's a no-brainer.

Now, Ain't It Cool News reports today:

How about if Ryan Reynolds is playing him?

This one's supposed to be a secret, but cat's out of the bag now, Marvel.

An awful lot must have happened the last few weeks (or maybe he's just a liar... a good one though!) It's not for a Deadpool movie though, but instead for a cameo in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Thoughts?

This is great casting and I have a feeling this is going to be a really good movie from the casting and what I've read so far of the script. I also think Gavin Hood has a better studio movie in him than Rendition

My God, please make it happen! I've been pulling for Reynolds to play Flash for years, but him playing Deadpool would be WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYY KEWLER!!!!!

Wait wait wait people, wasn't he in Blade Trilogy the hird movie that sort of flopped? Isn't that was a Marvel movie too? Ryan Reynold playing Deadpool...mmmmmmmmmmmaybeee...Deadpool in Weapon X movie? Aww come on where's Omega Red? I think that would be a cooler character to come into Weapon X movie. Well if ryan is going to be in the weapon x movie he needs to be shirtless again!

I really dislike the fact that an actor who aready had a role in a MARVEL movie has a role in another MARVEL movie, but we already had that with SAM ELLIOT - sorry if the spelling is incorrect:-) - so, of course, beside that, I think RAYNOLDS is a good choice. I mean, I have seen him only in BLADE: TRINITY, so I may not be a right person to judge him, but according to his acting in that movie, I'm ok with him to play DEADPOOL.

I would love to see him as deadpool. Its a match made in heaven, However, I would much rather DC got of its dumb @$$ and get the flash on the road instead of doing dumbness like the justice league movie.

Anyone who doesn't see Ryan Reynolds as the flash or deadpool is an idiot, or criminally negligent of the character.

Jason: Unfortunately, Marvel or Brett Ratner (I would much rather blame him) already MURDERED(and I mean that in both senses)the character of Omega Red in X-Men 3. The guy with the bones coming out of his arms. But Ryan would make a great Deadpool

I thought Reynolds would be a great Flash, but I'd never even considered Deadpool, that's even BETTER. It makes so much sense, considering previous personality-types he's played.

This needs to be true, it would only up the awesome factor for this movie by a thousand.

FINALLY!!! The people in Hollywood have the common sense to pair an actor with a part that is PERFECT for him. This is just another reason that this Wolverine spin-off is a good idea.
