Pretty damn cool. I hope the stories are as cool as the Animatrix.

So it's basically the Animatrix but with Batman, hmm, sounds interesting :)

Child of Dreams was one of my favorite Batman graphic novels, which is odd since I'm not a huge fan of manga.

At any rate, the animation looks gorgeous.

Absolutely gorgeous. I can't wait to see the greatest superhero of all time pulling an Animatrix!

I'm not so sure I'm real keen on all the Animatrix comparisons. Animatrix was a shoddy attempt to bridge an over-budgeted and under-written franchise. Visually stunning, yes, but story-wise it ranged from bland to incomprehensible. Batman in and of himself is an amazing and complex but identifiable character and the stories they are going to tell with this piece (particularly the Deadshot bit...it's about time Deadshot was featured in a story like this) look amazing. But I think the Animatrix comparison ends at the fact that it's done in an animation style entirely new for Batman and they claim it will bridge the last movie with the new one. Personally, I don't need that bridge but it's always nice to see a new animated Batman.

If Bruce Timm's in charge, it'll be sweet. I hope the fight scenes bring that supercharged anime-style...

''six-part anthology film bridge the gap between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight'' ??

Have they asked for Christopher Nolan's opinion? And is there any Joker?

umm im a huge huge batman fan an that looks f'n awsome when is it due out again??? cant wait bout time they came out with a sweet animie style super hero movie

An anime style Batman should have been done years ago as the character himself just fits that style. I'm freakin excited for this DVD and I hope this opens the door for more anime films, including Kia Asamiya's version which kicks all ass. Pick up Child of Dreams if you haven't already, it's a great read for any Bat fan.

i'm really looking forward to seeing this anthology. what the plots will be, the art, and who would be cast in the american dubbed version (if it is indeed dubbed). so far all i know is that christian bale is supposedly going to voice batman. anyways, in the first place, when i first heard about this new batman animation, i was just simply cyked to see bruce timm attached to it. i loved his work on "batman the animated series" and "justice league". so pleased to seeing him working on another batman project. to me, he's like a batman (franchise) god next to christopher nolan! (well, that doesn't count comics that is.) lol :p

i'm not a fan of that animation style...the old batman cartoons from the early 90's are the best.

Holy baterang batman this looks frikin awesome...,im buying this no question.

Sweet!

Posted by: MR on February 15, 2008 at 07:33:53

Is it going to be released in the UK?

Posted by: RL on February 15, 2008 at 07:36:23

Movie looks great but the people talking are the same footage from BATMAN 1989 footage when it came out with the box set a few years ago. What a rip off. Same thing from start to finish. Only thing new is the cartoon footage. If you watch the first BATMAN movie and watch the history of him in the speacial features section you will see the same people talking with the same interviews etc.

Looking good!

Plus, is nice to see Bruce Timm finally got an eye job

Batman as an anime production?, this can't go wrong :)

Posted by: leagueofone on February 15, 2008 at 08:37:17

An interesting concept. Warner can't seem to be able to get their act together to make decent superhero films (other than Batman Begins), but their animation division is going crazy with creativity with their straight to DVD releases.

I am looking forward to all their animated film projects, this one, New Frontier, The Judas Contract and the Wonder Woman movie.

Oh man, major geekout!

Posted by: ted on February 15, 2008 at 09:24:35

The Animatrix was ok.

I think this animation style is overused but Timms involvemnet is promising.

I think they should just leave it alone, I am personelly not a huge fan of Anime. I think they are going to do with this movie what they did with Forever and Robin which is ruin Batman again. Yeah sure it looks cool, but its going to take much more than that. Also if you notice that there are very different styles which I know is the whole point. But, if this is supposed to be a bridge between Begins and Dark Knight then why is it that things look so different I mean Heck at one point one of the Animations has the same Bat Symbol for Batman Forever which by the way was and still is Terrible. They went wrong with Batman once. DC give me and the fans a break. Make more than one great movie please. Stop being so Legalistic, and take a frikkin chance. I hate the direction your going with The Live Action Justice League movie but thats a different subject.
