Superman, Justice League & Batman Rumblings
Source:Variety
January 3, 2008

Anne Thompson at Variety has posted some interesting things about the "Superman" franchise, new Justice League movie and third Batman pic:

Speaking of DC Comics pics, it is highly unlikely that Bryan Singer will return to shoot the next Superman movie. (The director is finishing up Tom Cruise's Nazi film Valkyrie, and prepping The Mayor of Castro Street). The next Superman we will see on the big screen will not be Brandon Routh, but a younger Superman among a cast of youthful superheroes in The Justice League. That movie will likely not be shot, however, until after the WGA strike is resolved. Warners is so happy with Dark Knight that their fondest hope is that Nolan will return to do another Batman.

While none of this is official, stay tuned for more on these projects!

I like your cast lionel, but Jenny McCarthy as Harley Quinn would be great, but I do like Brittany Murphy, just not as Harley

Posted by: lionel gilmore on February 23, 2008 at 17:29:38

ok, jixx, jenny is a great harley quinn.

How about this line up:

Steven Seagal as Batman, Bob Saget as the Joker, Harrison Ford as the Riddler, Leonardo Dicaprio as Catwoman and Gene Wilder as the Penguin. Pretty killer line up, huh?

Posted by: ManO'Myths on February 23, 2008 at 18:30:05

It is a killer line up but i think but i think that rosanne barr would be better suited as catwaman. and gary colman as robin.

Superman Returns was ok. Lex Luthor wasn't the bad ass that is portrayed in Smallville by Michael Rosenbaum. He is without doubt the greatest LEX. Routh was good, very good actually but when it's all said and done, Singer and his blundering writing team should take all the blame for the the less than stellar story. I always said to friends that they should've went with the Superman Lives story line with Doomsday as the main villian. They should do that story for the new film The Man of Steel movie and include Branniac. They should also dump Singer and hire Quentin Tarantino to direct the film and give it a killer reboot - hard, tough, action aplenty and you can be sure the dialogue and story would be killer! But that's just my opinion!

umm thats way to many people for a movie

Spider-man 3 anyone...

And i don't think ANYONE should touch the joker after this, let it be what it is with ledgers performance

Posted by: NightWing19 on February 26, 2008 at 14:28:52

I agree there needs to be a robin( not a Chris odonnell robin), but a young Teen with some good acrobatic skill and willing to present himself as a modern day realistic crime fighter. So basically no shorts and pixie boots lol

For the third Batman, I would choose Kate Beckinsale as Catwoman she was great in the Underworld films as Selene. Anthony Michael Hall would have been perfect as The Riddler he would probably match well, wit hJim Carrey's version in 1995's Batman Forever. Phillip Seymour Hoffman as Penguin, brilliant Hoffman is a fantastic actor. He made me laugh in Twister with Helen Hunt, Jami Gertz and Bill Paxton. I would choose Crispin Glover for The Joker over Paul Bettany Crispin is tall skinny and has the act and face to play The Clown Prince of Crime. Harley Quinn aka Harlene Quinzelle I would choose Britany Murphy, Teri Hatcher was rumored back in the 1990s. Mia Sara would have been great as Harley she played her in the deceased Batman TV series with Ashley Scott called, "Birds of Prey". I loved that show I miss it so much. Well at least we have Smallville on 39 CW now. Superman Returns was great not, a perfect Comic Book film, like it was supposed to be, but for Superman:The Man of Steel I would put in Braniac and Metallo teaming with Lex Luthor to battle Superman and Supergirl The girl of Steel his cousin needs to appear to help him fight these baddies. Hayden Panettiere must play this iconic female chracter, I was amazed at her smashing the car window out in Heroes Season 2 Hayden is definitely Supergirl material. Spiderman 4, Venom, Carnage and Lizard my top three favorite villains for the next film. Venom needs more screen time. Marvel is doing a sinoff so if he doesn't show up in the fourth film that is okay. Carnage can then take over. Milo Ventimiglia should play Peter Parker/Spiderman for the next three installments and Chloe Sevigny can play his sidekick love interest Felicia Hardy/Black Cat. Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst are finished with the series and it is time to replace them with new faces. How about for Mary Jane Watson we go with Rachel Mcadams, Anna Faris or Jennifer Love Hewitt perfect. one of these three beautiful ladies will put a smile on Milo's face all three are around his age as well as mine. But, I'm not a professional actor yet.

I love Kate Beckinsale as Selina/Catwoman, but how about Robin Williams as Arnold Wesker/The Ventriloquist? Oh, and as someone put in David Tennant (AKA: Doctor Who) as Edward Nygma/The Riddler, there was an episode of Doctor Who set in the 1930's, placing the Daleks in Manhatten(stay with me on this!)...There was an actress in that episode who played a dancer in a vaudville show who was in love with a guy who became a Dalek slave. I don't know her name, but she was blonde, feisty, and had a GREAT Bronx accent. She would be perfect as Harleen Quinzell/Harley Quinn!!

'If' Nolan does goes with Madhatter in a film, I think Elijah Wood would be great in the role. Sam Rockwell would probably be a good Riddler. I really want to see Black Mask in the next film and I think James Purefoy would be perfect in that role. Also, if anyone takes over Heath Ledger's Joker...and I don't think they should...but the only actor I could see play the role like Ledger is Joaquin Phoenix. I hope they don't recast the role though.

How about Elizabeth Banks for Harley Quinn?

thats a bunch of bull****. bryan singer is doing the new superman movie and the justice legue has nothing to do with it. the new movie is going to be called Superman:Man of steel. It is coming out in june of 2009 you dumb ass!

Posted by: White Tiger on June 11, 2008 at 11:18:07

He's kinda old now...but ROBIN WILLIAMS would make a great MAD HATTER.

Posted by: Michael Banno on June 11, 2008 at 12:02:01

I say Amy Smart for Harley Quinn.

Posted by: Simon on June 11, 2008 at 13:32:41

I agree with most of you.
Kate Beckinsale would be a good Catwoman. I think a David Tennant Riddler would be interesting to see. If Robin Williams is to do anything, he'd be best suited as Ventriloquist.

And its still too soon for a Robin.
Lets just work out some more early Batman stories.

I could be wrong though, but isn't Two-Face being set up to be the main villain in the next one?

Posted by: Reve on June 11, 2008 at 13:55:34

Two-Face it is for the third one.

**** Grayson may be introduce in the 3rd movie but only as **** Grayson. Bruce Wayne needs company. In the 3rd the 2 should establish a relationship like father and son, this could be the emotional arc in the movie, them getting along and a breath of life for Bruce. The farther they should get is **** discovering Bruce's secret, nothing more.

Posted by: Reve on June 11, 2008 at 14:00:38

I like the only one villain approach. Let's have only one villain and the set-up of another. Like this one. The joker and the set-up of two face. 3rd one it's 2face and the set-up of ridler or freeze along with the **** Grayson story arc.
