Allocine has posted a brief video interview with Heath Ledger talking about The Joker in The Dark Knight. The interview starts at about the 2:18 minute mark in the video at this link!

The Dark Knight, again starring Christian Bale as Batman, hits theaters on July 18.

Wow. This is so sad. He really enjoyed playing Joker. I wish he was still here to give us Joker again for the sequel. I loved him as Joker just as much as he loved playing the part.

Heath Ledger was,"THE BEST!" That guy could act and he acted well. RIP Heath no one in Hollywood could emulate your craft. I'll follow your example.

I don't know why this thread was brought up now but, since it is, every live action portrayal of the Joker will always be compared to Ledgers.
