If you've been following the progress at IBelieveinHarveyDentToo.com (details here), you'll know that the first photo of Heath Ledger as The Joker was slowly being revealed as more and more people entered their e-mails. The photo has now been completely uncovered and can be seen below! The Dark Knight hits theaters on July 18, 2008.

hell-o how are you, ok, i am not sure now if i have a good or very good acction figure of the joker from the batman the dark night, but i got the last three in the whole store....

My picks for the next possible villains!
Johnny Depp to replace Heath Ledger as the Joker. Before you say no, remember that Rachel Dawes was replaced. Batman Begins= Katie Holmes, Dark Knight= Maggie Gyllenhaal. Besides, it would not be a disrespect for the late Heath Ledger. I think he would be glad to hear that someone else could do it since he no longer can.
Paul Giammatti ( Lady in the the water) as The Penguin. He may be too tall, but so were the stars who played the Hobbits in Lord of the rings. Special effects could solve the tallness factor.
Anne Hathaway as Catwoman.
Steve Carrell as the Riddler.
If not Paul Giamotti as the Penguin, then how about Paul Giammotti as the Scarface dummy wielding Ventriloquist.
If no joker, Johnny Depp as the Madhatter.
Patrick Stewert as Mr. Freeze.

First off, I love this photo. It was one of the first marketing shots released, and I think they stopped using it as it looked morbid. I wanted one of the t-shirts with this photo, but the weekend Heath died, Hot topic sold out and said they wouldn't have any more.

Second, I don't think there is any disrespect in recasting the role. How disrespectful would it be to Batman lore if they stopped using the Joker, especially as they intended, just because Heath died. If they replaced Heath while he was living (err, like Katie), now that is a major league snub. Truth is, it will be hard to follow.

Finally, I think we should watch Tiny Lister (the scarred prisoner from the ferry at the end) as Killer Croc, and how about David Hyde Pearce as the Riddler or Crazy Quilt?

I admit when I first heard the news that Heath Ledger was going to be the Joker in the Batman Begins sequel ''The Dark Knight'' I was a non-believer.I just couldn`t see Heath Ledger the heartthrob, in the role of that maniacal clown with the permanent grin plastered across his face.I thought who could top Jack Nicholson in the live-action world of Batman as the Joker? After seeing the Dark Knight I was turned into a believer.Not ony is the movie one of the best superhero movies ever,it`s one of the best movies ever.

Heath is now the definitive live-action Joker,the guy outdid Jack Nicholson as the Joker.So for all of the ''who`s the better Joker'' talk,the answer is it`s Heath.Hands down.Heath`s Joker was a anarchist,terrorist,scary pyschopath and criminal genius all in one.The movie is a masterpiece and Christopher Nolan is a creative genius.
RIP Heath Ledger,he deserves the Oscar for best supporting actor.

villan in batman 4 should be mr. freez. but not victor freez it should be chill. we never realy found out if he died when he got shot. so the way i see it after he got shot they took him to gotham general and put him in somthing like a tub that flash froze him. when they got every one out of gotham general somthing went wrong with....i dont know whatever you want. at the end of the 3rd or the start of the 4th the riddler being a very smart guy builds chill a suit to keep him alive then chill under goes the name mr. freez. chris nolan can do whatever he wants with it so it fits is realistic vision for batman.

Heath Ledger is the BEST Joker ever. Seen the movie and i think he just did it right.There's nothin above it. I really enjoyed the way the Joker looked at people. There was joke in his eyes. R.I.P. man. Johnny Depp would be just the right guy to replace him.
