Alexander and Feore Join Thor Cast
September 22, 2009
Jaimie Alexander ("Kyle XY") and Colm Feore have joined the cast of Marvel Studios' comic book adaptation Thor, to be directed by Kenneth Branagh.
Alexander and Feore join Chris Hemsworth, already cast as Thor; Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki, the god of mischief who serves as the movie's villain; and Natalie Portman is Thor's human love, Jane Foster.
In Marvel's epic fantasy, Alexander is playing Sif, a skilled Asgardian warrior who can hold her own against any man. She also is one of Thor's loves.
Feore's character is shrouded in mystery, though it is known to be a villain.
The Thor movie spans the Marvel Universe; from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

I hope it has the same look and feel as LOTR.But when Thor is on earth its in Tony Starks world.

I'd rather see Alexander Skarsgaard, a true Norseman, weilding Mjölnir. But I'll give Hemsworth a shot. He was commanding as George Kirk.

It's says pretty clearly that she's not playing Amora but rather Sif.

Good news. It says in the article that she'll be Lady Sif.

Interested to see who Colm Feore will be. The casting in Iron Man was excellent and Thor is definitely living up to that standard.

hmmm who could this "mystery villain be?" Maybe it's just Pip the Troll.lol

Alexander=Enchantress? Did you guys even read the article it clearly states that she's Sif. Colm Feore is the one who's going to be the "mystery villain". Reading comprehension is really horrible now days. People only seem to understand half of what they read. Then they post about it. As to the mystery villain, perhaps he'll be the leader of the Kronan aliens or perhaps Kevin Kincaid the opposing love interest. Who knows, they've done a great job of keeping this movie under wraps.

Hopefully these actresses can hold there own when doing fighting scenes. I hate to see a pretty actress fight like she hasn't got a muscle in her body and it shows on screen. SPFX and a good fight scene along the lines of "Lord of the Rings" will make this film.

Can't wait to see Chris fully armoured.

Maybe Feore plays Loki's father In Flashback.Early script reports suggest Loki finding out Odin was not his real father Is part of his motivation to Villian.

The dude is just way toooooooo small to play thor. It's like the 70's show guy playing venom all over again

Hemsworth is what, 6'2"? Camera angles, folks, can make anyone look taller. I would choose the actor who can PLAY the hero over the actor who LOOKS the hero every time. Makeup and camera angles can fix a great deal. Look at Steel or Daredevil for 'looks the part', and look at V for Vendetta for 'can act even with a mask and no facial expressions'. Macguire does Spider-man with a full-face mask well. Bale does Batman well. Norton and Bana both can ACT, so despite Bana's height, we saw Banner. Norton's built, but we saw Banner. Idiots who want the tallest wrestler to play Thor will hate the movie after 10 minutes of seeing their choice on the screen. Good actors can make great heroes, lousy actors just fail.
Also, I had the same thought as Warma Sheen - that He won't be some major Asgardian villain, but an earthly one - though he would make an excellent 'aged Loki', so perhaps he'll be Loki on Midgard?

No! This movie will suck without Rasslers in it.

Hey gang, just want to say that Colm Feore is a fantastic actor, he's basically the Ian Mackellen of Canada (in that their both fantastic Shakespearian actors, and has also been in a lot of random movies, some good, some bad :)
Can def. see Brannagh's hands all over his casting, the guy's totally plugged into the Shakespeare scene all over. He probably has permanent tickets to the Stratford Festival (Canada's acting olympus)
I'm really stoked to see him in this role, and think he'd do great as a leader of the Dark Elves or Frost Giants or some other band of Thor-esque baddies being controlled secretly by Loki.

Jaimie Alexander as Sif is excellent casting. She already has experience playing physical roles so she'll be a welcome addition to the already great cast. I can't wait for this movie to come out!

Jaime as Lady Sif is an excellent choice! I just hope she gets into shape for it!

Anyone not familiar with the work of Colm Feore - check out Chronicles of Rid****. This guy can play a villian with the best of them! He's currently starring in Macbeth and Cyrano De Bergerac in Stratford - both worth the visit!

Anyone consider that Feore will be the Midgard Serpent? I'd like to see that or Zarrko.

I'm an extra in the remake of Red Dawn.. and I had my own reservations about Chris Hemsworth, that is, until I saw him. Trust me guys, that dude is huge.

Holy crap we were just talking about her in the WW thread, and now she's Sif! Great choice
