I love it so much. It's Hawkman and he's perfect!

I'm doing the happy dance. I never thought I'd see a live action Dr. Fate and Hawkman done so well. (Never cared about Stargirl). This is awesome. I'm so happy I'm going to cry (with manly dignity).

Hawkman and Doctor Fate look pretty cool there; Stargirl not so much, but then again she shouldn't look super-awesome. I'd actually like to see these episodes, even though I stopped watching the series years ago. Good job, Smallville!

Awesome, I can't wait until this episode premieres, this has been one of, if not thee best season to date for this show's nine year run.

Hawkman's face looks a bit like Toby Maguire's face a bit. Hey it's SpiderHawk. lmao;-D

I'm so impressed. Smallville has been able to bring about the biggest roster of comic heroes for live action tv ever. Don't forget that Martian Manhunter appears in this episode too!
Besides having his powers, I hope he has a 'modern' version of his costume going, though I doubt they'd ever make him look like the green Martian which is a shame....
Stargirl looks a but grumpy in this picture but, I thought she was a sprite teen/20-something? Furthermore I assume the photo of Doctor Fate/Stargirl is in the past, since they where heroes of the 70's in this continuity?

how the **** can anyone take this seriously? They look ****ing ridiculous

It occurs to me that these are shockingly polished costumes considering that they only had a couple of months to pull them together. When did Geoff Johns tell the producers what characters he wanted to use, and how long did it take to get DC to give the go ahead? They can't have had more than two to three months, tops, before filming began. That's so crazy. Is there some sort of superhero shop somewhere that can whip up a detailed Dr. Fate costume like that so fast?
His costume is very reminiscent of the X-Men movie costumes. I wonder if the Smallville producers went to the same manufacturing source? They were both filmed in Canada, right?

Pity there is no Wildcat in this tv movie. His costume wouldn't have been too hard to do since they did a good job on Hawkman and Doctor Fate's costumes. You just need an actor that can box and has a good body like most heroes do.
But then again I am happy about these 3 making the cut....

Hawkman looks really nice (except for the cheap looking morning star) but the other two could have been nice - unfortunately the whole costume of Dr. Fate and the Staff of Stargirl look like Halloween-Wear made in China.

Okay, I'm as susceptible to geeky gushing over obscure superheroes as anybody, but I'm going to have to be honest here.
This looks like cosplay.
There, I said it.

For some reason Ollie's leather version of the Green Arrow Costume works, but for some reason the JSA uniforms ain't.

Wow... This looks... pretty awesome!
It reminds me of "Watchmen." You know, the beginning scene when we see the Minutemen.
Anyways, I'm really looking forward to seeing this TV movie. I hope it's a big ratings hit for CW and "Smallville." Come to think of it, isn't "Smallville" CW's top rated show?
Anyways, yeah, I like the costumes and I like how even way back when the JSA was in action, midriffs and muscle suits were all the rage.
Tee-hee!
Tee-hee-hee-hee!
TEE-HEE-HEE-HEE-HEE-HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

This looks ridiculous. THIS is why DC sucks compared to Marvel. DC doesn't even try.

I'm a DC fan & I'm wondering what the hell is this? The costumes are cheap. Hawkman's costume looks like its made out of plastic with cheap fake feathers from Hobby Lobby for his wings. That morning star looks like someone molded it out of styrofoam.
I think my little brother has that same NERF crossbow that Green Arrow has. Star Girl & Dr. Fate just look pathetic. I'm glad I never liked Smallville.
I can feel the pain of many DC fans.

Can't wait. Guys, this is TV. Take into effect the amount of time they have to plan this stuff. On top of that it's the CW which is struggling to make ends meet. With those things in mind, these costumes look great.
And I don't know how many times they gotta say it, it's not the producers fault we haven't seen Bruce Wayne yet. They DON'T HAVE PERMISSION TO USE HIM and they NEVER will. They aren't even allowed to REFERENCE him.
If they DID have permission, we would've been introduced to him in Season 6 instead of Green Arrow. Green Arrow/Oliver Queen is THEIR Bruce Wayne/Batman.
I can't wait for this. Not only do we have the JSA, but we've got Martian Manhunter, at least a shout out to Green Lantern (his ring, anyways), Green Arrow, and possibly even a surprise appearance of either Impulse (kid Flash), Cyborg, or Black Canary. On top of that it's a 2 hour movie?? WTG Smallvile.

Uhh dude, you do realize Hawkman isn't a REAL HAWK, right? Just a guy in a costume?? He doesn't have real wings... They strap on.
Also, you act as if this thing is on the big screen or something.
On top of that, we KNOW how Bruce Wayne has money for a kick ass costume, but these dudes? They have to make them themselves. They ALL should look cheap...
As for Green Arrow, I dont know what bow you're talking about. If your brother has that same crossbow you should take it away from him. He could kill someone with that thing.
Great parenting there, giving your little brother a deadly weapon. Does he also have a loaded 9mm? He should shoot you with it. That'd be awesome...

@ Sam_Raimi
DC is doing the same damn thing you did in all of your crappy Spider-Man films. I mean, seriously, Sandman's shirt is SOOOOOOOOOO 1965. Tell that idiot to get a wardrobe coordinator, because black and green strpped shirts don't work anymore.
@ What The (*&* Is This $&*T!
Dude, calm down. This is a TV budget, not a $200 million summer blockbuster. Give them credit for making the costumes look at least this good.
* * * * CAN ANYONE ANSWER THIS QUESTION * * * *: So Martian Manhunter is going to be in this movie, right? Well, if so, will he be green-skinned and more like his comic book counterpart? I hope so. That would seriously be awesome!
Posted by: DLANOR on November 28, 2009 at 04:22:53
Looks like a costume party. Even with T.V budget restraints, I think they should have tried harder to interpret the comic costumes into reality.
