Smallville TV Movie Has a Title
November 17, 2009
Entertainment Weekly reports that the two-hour Justice Society-centric "Smallville" TV movie coming to The CW now has a title - Smallville: Absolute Justice.
The event combines two episodes -- "Society" and "Legends." The magazine adds that the pic will air as a seamless two-hour event with only one set of credits.
Smallville: Absolute Justice airs on February 5th.

this season has been great. really stepping it up.

I've heard a lot people complain tht the is suppose to be about Clark path to Superman and by featuring all these characters tht they getting away from tht premise but tht couldn't be anymore wrong. Supes was a teen titan and a wore a black tshirt & jeans minus the trenchcoat, so why not have him come across other heroes during the show. The premise of the show still remains true to its intentions.

This is weird. All Smallville episode titles were always one word.

I guess I'm one of those Smallville fans that will hate on the title of the movie. Actually, I would use something like "Legends of Society" or "Society's Legends" since it's just a two-part episode. Anyways, yeah, finally get to see some kind of live action interpretation of lesser known DC heroes. The Hawkman costume looks very accurate, so can't wait to see how Dr. Fate and Stargirl's costumes are like.

I disagree with people who say this season has stepped it up. This is what they have managed to do thus far: Paint Clark as a dark, brooding hero much more similar to Batman than Superman; kill off Metallo, one of Superman's more well known enemies, in a two episode story arc; and made Jor-El and Zod, who hate each other with a deep passion in the comics, best friends who just happened to have a bit of a falling out when their dispute came from them having ideals which are in direct opposition to one another.
The only thing that has been done right is their story lines in regards to Green Arrow, in that he is a bit of a flawed character in that he has gone through rough times where he hasn't believed he was capable of being a hero. And it's interesting that they are now bringing in a glasses wielding Clark Kent, but I don't understand how a small time period of him wearing glasses around Lois and everyone else is going to make them forget what he looks like without them on, hence hiding his identity.
Not that I don't enjoy it a bit, I would not say this season has been spectacular as some of you paint it to be. It still has its flaws, and it has not made me change my opinion that it should have been canned a few seasons ago

PS.
The "Blur" is playing off a staple quote of the comic
"Is it a bird or a plane?"

SKINBEATA -
You are thinking of Superboy, who is a completely different character than Superman. They are often shown in the same comics, working side by side or just doing the whole 'Super Family' thing. They are two very distinctly different characters with their own seperate back stories and personalities.

I hope at least maybe Hawkman, Dr Fate and Stargirl can start suggesting Clark to wear the tights hehe

"Man of Steele"
If you EVER read a fricken Superman comic you realize they retcon facts and stuff ALL THE TIME! Also Metallo has died before and came back. Whats the big deal?
Posted by: SKINBEATA on November 17, 2009 at 20:56:55
Well I was mistaken my bad. There have be so incarnations of Superboy is hard to keep up.

FAT HIPPO - I do read Superman comics, have read many of them. I was not so much as complaining about them killing him off, more of them only have him around for 2 episodes. A character such as Metallo should had a much larger story arc. He should have been much more of a threat to Superman than he was. There should have been an actual fight. We did not receive that, which is why I feel they messed up that opportunity with a character who is greatly intertwined in the Superman mythos.
Don't try and confront me about reading Superman comics when you have no knowledge of my collections. I didn't cite any specific comic book story line in my critique to voice my complaint, it was about the character in general and his treatment in Superman's rogues gallery. If you were to read Superman comics you would know that his character deserved much better treatment, as have many of his well known villains who have been poorly portrayed in this series (e.g. Doomsday, Mr. Mxyzptlk, Bizarro, Parasite). That is why it may be considered a big deal to some who are faithful to the comics and how these characters were created and developed, not these modern bastardizations of them.

For me with this show is it has no choice but to be different. It's the first ever live action show of a top name Super hero in this day of technology and also within the story with cell phones, internet and so on. A big difference is they are introducing Superman into a world that all the other heroes exist.
Superman was created when a shirt, tie and hat was the normal everyday attire for men. You even saw it in all the ball parks like a bunch of clones. They didn't have constant video coverage, no internet, a lot less tv, no cell phones etc. It was A LOT easier to hide plus it was easy to say you can't tell he's Superman while wearing glasses when it's just a comic when Superheroes didn't exist yet. I hope they find a way to change the glasses thing for the close people and let them know who he is before the shows over. It's more fun to watch and the glasses thing just doesn't work when the world around you is as real as on Smallville.
I find it funny people talk about how different SV is like it's a crime but ignore the simple fact that SV has so much of the comics within the show. They are far more in tune with the comics than not. This Hawkman looks great. It's an awesome season with an actual tv movie coming our way written by a legend!
To me they get it, I say that just for the poses and camera angles alone. Can you imagine what this tv movie will give us for eye candy? It's great to be a Superman fan right now. I friggin tv movie...wow, I was hoping for a tv movie for the end and we're getting an early gift.

Well this is the MODERN AGE. not the past. I understand your upset about the way they showcase the villains and such. But this is tv.
Not to mention I never saw Metallo as a stick around for most of season type of villain. He is an event villain. They had a 2 part event. I do not see a problem with this.

Meh....I spent 30 minutes defending the Hawkman pic but Absolute?!? Is this another product placement attempt? Get your Absolute Vodka and catch Smallville: Absolute Justice on Feb 5th and pick up a pack of peppermint Stride gum to create a peppermint schnaps experience;) but on the lighter side I'm really looking toward to this tv movie. Over the years I wondered why they didn't do a movie/extended episode like this before, glad they are. Geof Johns rocks!!!

@Jason Todd, the Crimson Hood, seriously? Grow up.

Superman wrote: Can't wait for this!!!! and looking forward to the head girl @ Brandon Routh. com (Stargazer) to come in here under one of her names like "Hypocrites", "Sammy", "Blue Eyes" and then some to go along with "MostPowerful" here at the Hype and "Solaris" @ the Homepage to bash Smallvile any chance the Brandon Routh stalker can.
Apparently 22 year old Clark on Smallville is too immature and shouldn't make mistakes even before he becomes Superman. He's labeled as a "shallow guy" because he now loves Lois when it was only over a year ago he was in love with Lana, lol. But the latest to defend Routh's stalker scene is Superman's only human, he's allowed to make mistakes, lol
All this when she claims to not watch Smallville? Yeah right. Anyone who says they won't watch Superman unless he's played by Routh is NOT a Superman fan. It's sad when someone is ONLY a Superman fan because they want to get into the actors pants.

They should also make the series finale a 2-hour movie. And not just 2 episodes combined into one either. Just the one final episode should be 2-hours. I hope.

Who would have thought that the next Superman film would be a made-for-TV event on the CW. And to think that this production will suprass "Superman Returns" in terms of quality story and actual comic book relevence. Sad

When you become an executive producer and have Warner Brothers ask you to chime your feeble two cents in, then we will think your words matter. Until then, just because its not set to your liking, get over it. According to "the big two" of comics, there are alternate versions of everything. This is just someones "version" of how Clark Kent became the man of steel.
In other words...get over the fact that its not falling in line as you really want it to, ma'am. Just quit whining...

This will probably suck like most of Smallville. This show is done. Of course I won't waste my time with it.

In fairness, Speedy is only attractive from the neck up. That chick needs a meal or ten.

Absolute is a word predating a brand usage. Though it is a bit weird because the Russian version of this SM ep is titled Stolichnaya Justice. . ..
Regardless, Gilmore Girls will be highly pxxed---they were going to use ABSOLUTE JUSTICE if they ever do a movie. I suggested they use Grey Goose. Pretty sure I'll hear back from them any day now.

Real Robin:
There are other great shows at the moment too. How about Supernatural? Those brothers are such heroes.
About the Smallville film, I'm looking forward to watching it. I think the show is been growing since last season. If it gets enough attention we could expect them following this line. But reading what some people have said in other post about a Superman Movie on the big screen with Smallville cast, I really don't know if it'll ever happen. I see Tom Welling as Superman but WB is planning to do some films on Green Arrow, The Flash, etc. and surely it also wants reknown actors. In my personal opinion I find most of the SV cast is more or less the same age. I miss lionel and Martha because they were older. I miss an age gap among heroes. I know that Hawkman and company are supposed to be older, so that's something good. However, will they stay long?
