I've actually been to Metropolis, Illinois once. The Superman Museum really needs to be seen to be believed, some of the stuff they've collected is absolutely amazing.
Plus, the statue of Superman they have in the town square is pretty awe-inspiring in person. But they are definitely not kidding when they say that Metropolis is a "small town", in terms of literal size it practically defines the term.

Hats off to Pecos Bill for not being that guy!
Cheers.

...will do for superhero fans what Trekies did for star trek fans? Make us look like mouth breathing, obsessive, web-footed virgins whose parents are cousins? Thanks, just what we need. Trot out some film of the minority of fans who are insane, obsessive fanboys who dream of getting married to wonder-woman while wearing their green lantern pajamas. These movies always focus on the crackpots and make the minimize the sane fans.

Cool, if they are comparing it to Pumping Iron(one of my favorite doc.) it should be good!

Meh!

Looks dreadfully boring.

@reek
I agree with you.
The comic/superhero fans don't need this.
People need to see that most comic/superhero fans are sane, and not "trekkies"-style fans.

I'd like to eat cheese and drink wine while I watch this. It actually sounds interesting. I'll rent it ('cause you know it's going straight to DVD.)

anyone else ever read that article in Rolling Stone about Master Legend? THAT would make for a great documentary

I live like an hour from Metropolis, never been though, didn't know they had a Superman museum

FARTIE LANGE: TOTALLY! Such a great article but they should have done more profiles of these other guys...THEY ARE EVERYWHERE! Most of them (like ML) actually are putting people in jail!

@ reek: that is seriously funny stuff, and I agree. My brother is a Star Trek fan but he just likes to watch it on TV and at the movies, but people like a guy who works at the local Wal Mart who goes out in public all the time dressed up as Captain Kirk makes all Star Trek fans look like tools.

Its not the REAL metropolis is it...pisses me off, if anything Kansas should hold this celebration.

Isn't this the town that went ape-**** back in 93 when DC killed him off?
I think I remember seeing a woman crying because of it....
Pathetic.

Thats it. Another hero so overplayed. Beating up the "badguys" without breaking a single sweat. The reality is you get broken knuckles, deep cuts, and trophy wounds for a good service to the city. Truth is its a good day when you have a hand in making a rapist or serial killer disappear forever from the filthy streets. One less piece of trash to throw out at the end of the week!

I'm looking forward to this. I'm from Metropolis. Scott's a good guy. I don't think he'd try to make us look like a bunch of rubes.
Although I'm curious to see if the film covers the city's process of replacing him.

Just wanted to log on and remind everyone that this movie wont even hold a candle to The Dark Knight.
I like to log on and remind everyone who great The Dark Knight was.
I also like to talk about how much Watchmen is going to to suck semen.

@GUYVER, yeah, Superman might be the first superhero, but he is far from the best. The most one dimensional character in all of comic book. Not to say I dont love Superman, I do. But the adult side of me Identifies with Batman more. Cause, well, hes a helluva alot more interesting
