Dylan Baker Confirms Spider-Man 4 Return
Source:UGO
October 22, 2009

Ever since Dylan Baker first appeared in Spider-Man 2 as Empire State University professor Dr. Curt Connors, people have been buzzing about whether we might ever see him turn into Spider-Man's scaliest foe The Lizard. Unfortunately, we don't have the answer to that question just yet, but UGO had people at the Walter Reade screening of Michael Dougherty's Trick 'r Treat last night where actor Dylan Baker confirmed he would be returning as Connors for Spider-Man 4, when asked about it during a post-screening Q & A. He didn't go into details about how big or small his role might be in the fourth installment, although it seemed like it would be another "background" part, rather than The Lizard taking center stage as the next Spider-Man villain.

Lizard would be great. Trick r treat was good, but the trailer made it look MUCH scarier.

As long as people shut up about Bruce Campbell playing Mysterio.
Those are the kinds of people that have never picked up a comic book in their life

Bruce Campbell is going to be AWESOME ad Mysterio

I can wait for the Lizard...He will eventually make his mark in the Spidey films.
I agree that Bruce Campbell should *noy* plat Mysterio. I love Bruce but it's just not the right role for him. I say cast Ben Kingsley as the Vulture already! And bring on Electro!

...sorry that's "NOT PLAY Mysterio." I can't type fast!

It's almost inevitable that the Lizard, they aways said that both 4 and 5 was going to be filmed at the same time. So one of them will have the Lizard in it.

Even though most of the fan boys will go crazy about this saying "He is purposely misleading" or some other lame comment...

Honestly right now, it could be ANYONE folks. Speculation is fine, but still...to get all rabid about it and try to start fights is a little much don't you think?

I have my personal favorites that I root for to be in the film, but I keep it to myself and when they announce it, I will be okay with whoever they decide the villain should be.

Actually, I've been thinking that Jackie Earle Haley or Pete Postlewhaite would make a good Vulture.

Plus, I think they should do Lizard and Kraven. The Lizard runs rampant in New York, Kraven comes to hunt him and Spidey gets in the middle.

I don't get it. Unless the villains for Spidey 4 are Electro, Mysterio or Scorpion I do not understand why they do not have a kick ass storyline with the Lizard and Kraven the Hunter who comes to NY to find and kill the Lizard. Meanwhile Spidey is caught inbetween helping Dr. Connors and fighting off Kraven. I guess sometimes the obvious isn't clear to those in charge. Thanks for the two minutes of Venom and killing him off in #3. Way to take a cool character and make him suck in a movie. Hopefully producer Avi Arad doesn't get his way again and let's Raimi build from his success in Spider-Man 2.

Wasnt this a thread about Spiderman 4???

Posted by: what on October 22, 2009 at 11:06:12

No sense of humor? That TDK person was obviously just being facetious.

Hey, a tip from me to all on this forum:

If you don't want to discuss The Dark Knight (aka TDK) in a non-Batman thread, then DO NOT mention it, i.e. don't reply back to those who mentioned it in the first place. All you are doing is adding fuel to the fire. Ignore it and it'll go away.

You can thank me later.

Posted by: Ash Gordon on October 22, 2009 at 11:07:23

Blatantly, but the amount of people that then spun off and started to flame TDK and so on got a little silly

Bring On The Lizard!!!!

Posted by: Chujong on October 22, 2009 at 11:15:17

Back on topic, this movie is unnecessary. Just end this franchise with #3. All the actors & actresses suck (and annoying). Well except for the guy who played Uncle Ben; he was good. I say they wait another 7 years and do a remake with a brand new cast. This is just my opinion so don't get all bent out of shape about it. If you do, then you seriously need a psychological evaluation. :D

Posted by: sarasbigdaddy on October 22, 2009 at 11:18:13

Uncle Ben makes some good rice though.

Lizard should be the villain they hinted on this long enough.

Posted by: Braveheart on October 22, 2009 at 11:27:53

He was actually in Spider-man 1 chaps as well as two ! Time he took centre stage !

Posted by: leader1 on October 22, 2009 at 11:38:11

if I remember right the scorpion was taken over by venom that would make sense too given the venom movie coming out eventually

Posted by: Climie on October 22, 2009 at 11:39:22

Bring back venom in 5 (just because i live Venom). for spiderman 4 i think its fair to bring in the lizard and kraven, and let there be more action, no fights without the masks. cause that sickens me, and no love complications......just swing crawl fight save citizens en voila

Anybody else think that this is simply too much of a cash cow for Sony to stop making sequels? It's gonna cost Disney another $4 billion just to buy this property back from Sony. Same goes for X-men and Fox. :(

Posted by: XTREME!! on October 22, 2009 at 11:47:33

let me guess.. if the lizard does appear, its right when spiderman gets 6 arms, almost beats the lizard than for some reason beats his 6 arm problem, gets beaten up by the lizard, than through a finaly battle wins just barely for a really stupid reason right?

Posted by: obvious on October 22, 2009 at 11:47:48

I'm sorry but most Spidey villains are pretty lame. They either get stuck in a suit of some sort or their powers are dumb. I mean, could you actually envision a live action Vulture on screen?
They should put Black Cat in this movie.

Posted by: Bjorn on October 22, 2009 at 11:50:42

Regarding Vulture, why do people always need to have bald actors cast as bald characters ? The hair can be shaved off you know. Or the actor can possibly wear a green rubber cap and cgi makes it look like a bald head.

Okay okay, Love the idea of Kraven Hunting the lizard, sounds great, with spidey in the middle. get the lizard already! and I personally think they need to do the Scorpion and Electro. Scorpion would be easy and I can see it working perfectly! they just grab basically the same costume that the green goblin wore and design a new mask for scorpion, then for his tail, do it similar to the arms on DOC OC in SPiderman 2!
