Bigger Part for Bruce Campbell in Spider-Man 4?
September 13, 2009
At the premiere for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs on Saturday, Bruce Campbell told Access Hollywood that Spider-Man 4 will start shooting in January 2010 and that he'll have a larger part:
The actor, who has a long relationship with director Sam Raimi via his lead role in the "Evil Dead" trilogy, made memorable cameos in the first three "Spider-Man" films.
However, he may have a bigger role this time around. Bruce told Access that in the next installment in the superhero franchise, he’s been told he has a major part – but didn’t yet know anything about his character.
Columbia Pictures has scheduled the fourth installment for a May 6, 2011 release.

maybe it wont be a main character like a villain but maybe something like Peter's new landlord or something?

I hate you all- you and all of your dumb#$% guesses. The screenplay for this wasn't written when 2 came out Dean you fool. Why don't you guys close your parents' basement door and go back to masturbating to Brazilian tranny porn.

Mysterio was an actor and special effects genius. I could totally see Bruce's cameos being a progression of this villain. I can't wait. Aside from Venom Mysterio is my favorite Spidey villain. Bring it on.

Bruce has said the same damn thing for every other Spider-Man movie.

If he's is gonna be a villain then he'd probably be Chameleon. Think about it. Same guy going around different places as different people. If he were Chameleon then they could tie in all his cameos and make it part of a larger story.

Definitely not Kraven the Hunter, but for some reason I could see him playing his brother The Chameleon.

He's perfect for MYSTERIO...

people forget the vulture, hes a punk villian and would make a great opening fight scene for a spiderman movie

I've heard this speculation before. It's been said since the first movie came out, hell maybe even before. It would be truly awesome to have the Chin have a bigger role, but I don't see it happening.

well my opinion is that lizard can also be in the fourth movie as doctor has been featured in all the three movies. one thing adding that spiderman 4 should have only one villan because in the last movie three villans were making things confusing not much details were given they should focus on one villan so his character is understood

I don't care. As long as Raimi is the director, the Spider-Man franchise is dead to me.

MYSTERIO!!!

man who cares, get this one over with so we can get a total reboot on this stupid franchise. Raimi's hogged the character long enough.

Who cares about bruce campbell. I am trying very hard to be optimistic about this movie but news like this his doesn't make me feel very reassured. All of his other roles were totally pointless and random.

I met Bruce at a screening of MY NAME IS BRUCE and he flat out told me and the rest of the audience that he doesn't ever want to play MYSTERIO. Mostly because he didn't like the idea of wearing a Fish Bowl on his head for an entire film. Although I'm sure Sam has ways of convincing him if the need arises. :)

"I don't care. As long as Raimi is the director, the Spider-Man franchise is dead to me. "
Really?
Spider-Man 1 was good.
Spider-Man 2 was great. Still one of the best super hero films ever made.
Spider-Man 3 stunk, really stunk. But, deep into the pre- production process, Marvel made Raimi change Vulture into Venom, requiring lots of last minute re-writing, but not enough time to get it just right. I blame Raimi for all the dancing and crying, but the whole fiasco wasn't his fault.
I think he's earger to do 4 to show that 3 was a fluke. I'm more than willing to give him that chance. I think this will be better than we expect.

I can see Bruce as Misterio

Vulture...No man...the whole point was Raimi was leading into using The Lizard, and of course Still Harry as a Goblin type...but you are right they did force Venom down his throat and had to rewrite and basically rushe the Venom/Symbiote Stuff....My beef with the movie though was the way Raimi explained how Uncle Ben was accidentally shot, after Sandmans partner bumped into his arm while he had a gun...Bullshyt...I am not sure if that was rewriting or a big F up by Raimi..either way he/Sony, Marvel, and Avi Arad all dropped the ball !!!
