Spider-Man 4 Teaser Poster Fake!
Source:Superhero Hype!
June 4, 2009

On Wednesday, Ain't It Cool News posted this teaser poster for Spider-Man 4 that is on display at the Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas this week. While we no doubt believe that the poster is hanging at the Expo (to not discredit AICN's story), official sources are telling us that this poster was not created by Sony Pictures or Marvel Studios for the fourth film. It is indeed fake and no official artwork has been released yet for the movie.

So stay tuned, hopefully we will get some kind of artwork soon for the May 6, 2011 release.

Fake or not, it didn't get me the least bit excited for the fourth film.

Like the image speaks leaps and bounds about the movie whether it's official or not.

And let the Spider-Man 3 bashing begin...

First off, that is the real poster. It is here at the expo, and Sony said they made it. We asked, and they said it was theirs. So not sure why they are saying they did not.

Secondly, the poster is Yuck. Everyone who looked at it, were not impressed. SO I think that has to do with Sony saying it is fake. Own up to it Sony. You are making yourselves look bad.

How did a fake poster get hung up, at the expo? I'm not questioning the fact that it's fake, just wondering how in the world someone sets up a fake 'exhibit' at an expo. Security/Management staff is asleep perhaps?

So Spider-Man's foe in this one is...uninspired marketing? Glad it's fake...

Posted by: Headhunter on June 4, 2009 at 13:56:04

Ironically, it's probably better than anything Sony was going to come out with anyway.

If it is fake it's pretty damn good.

Fake or not it didn't get me excited in the slightest...even if it is real...i hate when they advertise something that is coming out 2 years in advance....how am i supposed to even remotely interested when they don't even have a script ready...bad sony..bad

Looks like a teaser poster to me, they haven't exactly started proper production on the movie yet so why would there be a finished all singing and dancing poster at this point in time? Yes I'm sure the Spider-Man 3 bashing will start again, any chance to spit vitriol at something the didn't like right?

Posted by: Dusty Bottom on June 4, 2009 at 14:00:48

I bet it IS real...but given the negative reaction of fans they're cleaning up their act and looking for something a little more...hmmm what's the word....EXCITING!

Posted by: kozzy on June 4, 2009 at 14:00:57

not fake

Posted by: Gigli on June 4, 2009 at 14:05:56

Don't you get it?! The enemy WILL BE the number 4. After years of being underappreciated and underpaid on Sesame Street, the cuddly number 4 has finally snapped and is threatening New York by unleashing the infinitesimal horde of muppet numerals hiding in the depths of Oscar's trash can. Beat THAT for a story!

Posted by: Fanboiii on June 4, 2009 at 14:10:20

of course it's fake, it says May 6, 2077

Posted by: jay on June 4, 2009 at 14:12:19

thank god...this poster is awful.

Posted by: Sad Puppy on June 4, 2009 at 14:19:13

The fake that Really??? linked to is great! Now that I would like to see.

Posted by: iam_hollywood on June 4, 2009 at 14:19:40

lame

Posted by: ManakinSkywalker on June 4, 2009 at 14:21:08

Dude Fanboiii, those are ones not sevens they look like sevens but there not it's just the font I have that font type on my computer and those are ones, but it is fake though cause why would they release a poster when they haven't even started shooting the movie, I just hoope it's better than Spiderman 3, I mean it was decent but it would of been better if they just had Harry as the Goblin, and either Sandman or Venom not all three of them just two of them or if they just finished Harry's storyline and nothing else, the movie would have been a hundred times better, IMO.

I will not see a forth Spider-Man if Toby (You're too Old) McGuire play Peter Parker again. The dude was bloated and wrinkly in the last one. What is going to do shoot webs out his cane this time?

Posted by: DMoney on June 4, 2009 at 14:31:54

That poster is really really bad if it is from a studio... My crap looks better than that.

Posted by: ramon torres on June 4, 2009 at 14:33:44

Wow!! You so called spider fan boys are really getting worked up over a poster. I hope none of you losers go and see the movie when it comes out since you are all dooming it already.

Posted by: wakigo on June 4, 2009 at 14:35:54

i can't believe so many people are bashing this just cause it's fake. if u look at the original post, people had a much more positive reaction and now that it's said to be fake, people are disappointed and they don't know what to say so they just criticize sony. this is a cool picture and i know the real official artwork is going to be amazing!!!!

Posted by: guyver 1 on June 4, 2009 at 14:40:55

darmok plz shutup for once

anyway fake or not it doesnt matter all that matters is if the movie is as good if not better then sm2

Posted by: Taco Paco on June 4, 2009 at 14:45:34

It looks like another BLT designed piece of crap! I hope they do better this time then just slapping a couple images together and calling it artwork.

Posted by: snake robot podium on June 4, 2009 at 14:47:57

This poster is bad because it gives us nothing to look forward to, and just mimics the design for 2's posters. I liked the teader tor Spider-Man 2, with shadowy Doc Ock

Posted by: Spiderfan on June 4, 2009 at 14:48:03

Well first of all i dont even know how or if this was in there. it was kind of real since there isnt much on the poster expect the four and how it just had the date was pretty convincing. I wasnt too satisfied since it about it and dont care much that it was fake even though spider man is my all time favorite and it diddnt even have the villian which is another factor unless his enemy is the sun. i am very happy to see the 4 posters for avengers, iron man 2, captain america and thor and how the art looks. And the iron man 2 poster is awesome. Terminator rocked, transformers is gonna rock and wait for these movies all coming out in a few years. see ya
