Feige Says to Expect More Spider-Man Movies
Source:Advanced Dark
August 23, 2006

Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige recently told MTV that he thinks it's almost certain there will be more Spidey films after Spider-Man 3:

Feige directly addressed rumors that it might be the final film for the friendly neighborhood web-slinger.

"There will be many more Spider-Man films to come," he promised. "We already have stacks of ideas for the next one because of the wealth of stories in the comics. We could be making Spider-Man movies for the next 20 years, based on the 50 years of Spider-Man history we have."

That doesn't necessarily guarantee, however, that Tobey Maguire will continue as the man under the mask.

"When you're concentrating on one movie at a time, there's a beginning and a middle and an end to that process," Feige reasoned. "We've been topping each one as they go, [and if that happens again], that's the time for those discussions."

Yes, yes, a million billion trillion yes! I am so super duper happy; inside and outside; that they are going to expand the sexy Spider-Man film franchise. I have been a Spider-Man fan since I was a little baby, and I can't wait to see more sexy Spider-Man movies. My parents and brother love Tobey Maguire, and they, along with the rest of my family would want to see Tobey Maguire continue playing the sexiest comic book superhero of Marvel Comics in years to come. Ever since they saw Spider-Man (2002) and Spider-Man 2 (2004), my parents, brother, and the rest of my family had taken a wonderful and beautiful shine to Tobey Maguire, hoping that someday he would be my husband, because they say that Tobey Maguire is a beautiful, intelligent, charming, sexy, and ultra-sweet young man with excellent super duper morals and manners.

I LOVE YOU, TOBEY MAGUIRE! YOU ARE A DARLING!
YOU ARE MY PERSONAL PETER PARKER/SPIDER-MAN AND TIGER FOREVER AND EVER!
GO GET 'EM, TIGER!

No, No, a million billion trillion No!

Good lord let that dead horse decompose in peace. Please, Please, Please think of the children.

If the downwardly spiraling Spider-Man movie franchise continues one can only hope they will just go direct to video, and not clog up the theaters.

Spider-Man 3 was so god awful that it made the Fantastic-4 movie look like a work of art. Emo-man... WTH were they thinking...

Louise, that was, I don't know, COMPLETELY UNNECASSARY!! plus overall kind of wacked out and freaky

I really hope Maguire comes backthough, it's not the same without him. U see that Louise, that was staraight, to the point, and not sounding like I'm begging not to be put in hell for all eternity.

WHAT!!

Screw Mcguire, Give Jake Gyllenhall his shot now please..! Spiderman needs a revamp badly after that idiotic last movie...*A 90 pound Venom wtf?

Posted by: Spider-Sam on March 21, 2008 at 16:41:49

I hope too...more Spidey movies !!!
Tobey was good in begining nightcrawler but NOW it must be a more dark and stronger actor to BE the Spider. Why not gylenhall ??

Keep Gyllenhaal out Monk, he's the same person as Maguire. They need to go with someone fresh and unknown; you know, sort of how they did it the first time around. Although Tobey was in the biz for some years at that point, he never was really KNOWN until Spidey. It's time to let an untried youth continue the story of Marvel's premiere character humbly and more artistically then has been done before. After the slopp of SP3, there's no need to rush this either..It's true that there is a wealth of stories to tell involving SpiderMan. Let's hope SONY and MARVEl wait for the right one to tell before letting down purists like they did with the overstuffed Spider Man 3

..I forgoten please NO MORE K.Dunst !!That all

Go for it. Lose the cast, keep Raimi on as exec producer or even producer and call it Spectacular Spider-Man, a la The Incredible Hulk. Do three movies, recast, call it Web of Spider-Man. Slightly different versions of the character have worked in the comics for forty years. The movies have yet to try this, but are edging closer to it as "re-interpretations" now happen within years instead of decades. Bring it back under the control of Marvel Films like Iron Man and Hulk and go to town. Jump time a little, let's see Pete grow up a little. And for God's sake, they've been building on the Curt Connors thing for three movies...let's see some Lizard! Could be totally lame, but Doc Ock is an inherently lame villain as well, and he remains to most well-realized in the trilogy. I really hope they revitalize this franchise with some new blood rather than thinking audiences are married to the Raimi-Maguire-Dunst-Cabal. Have some balls and move on. Audiences react to story, and character. Find people that can execute something true to the spirit of Spidey. That's all you need.

Spider-man is in a pickle! It's been so successful does it really need a reboot? Perhaps? The first two films were greatness and Tobey maguire was so wonderful as Peter Parker. Yet the last film seemed like the end of a trilogy, an era, and sadly it was not on par with the first two films as far as being shall we say magnificent. I think a lot of people are perhaps kicking spidey 3 down too much. Maybe it's deserved , although folks it was not Batman & Robin. Spidey 3 was 100 times better, yet still a let down.

The difference between Spidey 1, 2 and 3 is that I ran out a bought 1 & 2 on dvd immediately upon release, I saw them at the theatres at least twice. As for spidey 3 , once was enough, I haven't bought the DVD and never will and I haven't even bothered to watch it a second time for free on the internet.

So perhaps we do need a Spidey reboot. Tobey is now 30+ and I can't see him continuing as the web slinger. At best the next spidey film is 2-3 years away if not longer. That would place Tobey in his mid thirties attempting to play a guy in his early 20's. Hmmm, I think Tobey may be ready to move on to more mature roles and lets not forget his back problems and physicality of the role. I really can't see Sam Raimi returning to direct either. I think the films have taken a toll on him as well. Likewise he probably wanst to move on to new territory.

I say wait 5 or more years and return with a reboot in the style of Batman Begins, something strongly faithful to the comics and a touch more realistic. Grittier. Find a young new Spidey, not a teen idol, but someone in the style of Tobey Maguire. A solid actor and everyman who is in his very early 20's. Maybe a little taller. Do a complete new casting of everyone involved. Sorry JK Simmons as much as I love you as JJJ , I think we need to start off fresh. I'd like to see the next actor play JJJ as a true jackass, more of a foil to spidey and less comic relief. If they do reboot I also regret that Dylan baker doesn't get his shot at being the Lizard cause it should have happened in Spidey 3. I'd like to see Spidey be more sarcastic and colorful under that mask. This time start off with Gwen Stacy as THE GIRL as it should have been!!! But keep MJ in the cast as a friend and future love interest. Choose a villian like The Chameleon, Vulture, or electro to kick off the new franchise and establish characters like Otto Octavius and Norman Osborn as part of the cast to become future villians. Hire a talented and visually stunning director and I think we 'd have a new blockbuster on our hands. Oh, and this time call it "THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN"! Nuff' Said.

lovestone, mate i agree with you completely i think everyone should agree too that what spidey needs is a "restart, revamp and more realistic" however i dont see whatever studio that has his rights are gonna go for a whole new start they might feel it too confusing time draining and expensive. This is just an idea but does anyone else feel a new spidey film should be done as either a animation or more BEOWOLF style with an obvious hint of Frank Miller i feel perhaps that would make everthing less "bloated". Or perhaps should it not be finally time to set up an Avengers movie as DC are taking the ages on finalising the deal of their rediculsly piss taking move JUSTICE LEAGE
oh and "amazing spider-man"......im not too sure, although i have a rather strong dislike for the name Spider-man as a film title now too.

SHIA LABEOUF AS SPIDER-MAN

If you really stop and consider the rich back story and the wide-ranging rogues gallery that Spidey has than you could indeed be looking at another 20 years of Spider-man movies. The surface has barely been scratched by the Spider-man franchise in that sense.
With that said however, that doesn`t mean Tobey Maguire,Kirsten Dunst and Sam Raimi will be a part of them. But Sony is like any other business in that they want to make money. And with or without Tobey,Kirsten or Sam, Sony will make those movies.Jake Gyllenhal to me would be ideal for the role,Patrick Fugit could work, even Topher Grace if they hadn`t already cast him as Venom.
Which was horrible miscasting by the way,Topher Grace didn`t convince me as Venom.I saw what Peter Parker could`ve been without the right type of guidance when I looked at Topher Grace`s Venom.

If Spider-man 4 gets made and I`m almost positive that it will-I think a major review of who and what Spider-man is is in order.Spider-man 3 was a bloated convoluted mess of a epic that missed the whole point of the first two films.Spidey 3 sacrificed story for effects instead of allowing the two to mesh seamlessly and work off of each other. And by attempting to expand the plot to accomodate all of these new unnessary characters and new unnessary plot twists the film collasped under the weight of it`s own soaring ambitions.
