Punisher will rock

First. And I was sorta excited for this movie, and parts of the t.v. spots make it appealing.... while at the same time it looks like it will be horrible. Damnit.

I want absolutely nothing to do with this movie, they should have kept Thomas Jane.

And yet you still took the time to read the news and, I'm sure, check out the tv spot. What a sad little life you must lead if you must resort to reading news, watching trailers and even worst, posting comments on movies you have no interest in. My heart goes out to you.

You can have Thomas Jane, you and his four total Punisher fans. Ray Stevenson is gonna wipe the stench out of our memories with this awesome new Punisher film!

Since when is this a competition with the '04 Punisher movie? That was indeed a great movie, but this one looks great too! Punisher MAX is great, so is Marvel Knights Punisher, so is classic Punisher... how should the movies be any different from that? I don't see people lining up behind their favorite writers and saying all others are bad. The Punisher shouldn't have to compete with himself.

@ BenHughes

True dat yo! Couldn't agree more.

Comparisons will always be made. This is not a competition between the 2 movies, but it does seem that the previous movie has a better story which made you feel for the character. From the trailers of this one, it seems like the storyline will be more simple, and not as moving compared to the previous movie. I could be wrong though. I hope I'm wrong.

this looks absolutely awful and i want nothing to do with this movie,

so awful infact that i'm commenting on how awful it's going to be

Am I the only person who thinks this movie looks very very horrible? I guess the scene where he is hanging upside down from the chandelier is supposed to look cool, but it just looks plain corny. I know this is a reboot, but I don't tink it shoul've been rebooted. Thomas Jane was the perfect actor to play the punisher. Ray Stevenson looks stupid and so does that rediculous outfit. The punisher symbol is too small also.

I agree with all you naysayers, Jane was cool, although the first movie could have benefited from a bigger budget it wasn't without its charm.
This movie looks like its gonna be all eye candy and nothing else.
I want Garth Ennis to write one of these movies. He is the only writer who seems to be able to make punisher hard-as-hell and maintain a shred of humour.

Bring back Dolph!!!!!

When the director isn't promoting this movie prior to its release (read up on this movie's developement), then something must be wrong...

Posted by: partyboy on November 15, 2008 at 05:30:52

Is it just me or does Jigsaw look and sound RIDICULOUS?!!!

Posted by: KRS1 Super Soldier on November 15, 2008 at 05:45:09

I'll be in theaters opening day to see this one!

Posted by: Justin Opinion on November 15, 2008 at 06:21:08

I think it will be a piece of crap but I hope to be proved wrong

Those who say they should have kept Jane should remember they did make him an offer and he chose not to come back becuase he didn't want to work with a different director.

Jane was was good in his Punisher movie, but he wasn't quite how Punisher should have been portrayed. Stevenson has it down perfect! The only thing about this new Punisher that i've seen that I'm not to fond of is the spinning upside down scene while firing in all directions. Maybe I'll think better when I see it within the confines of the movie itself, I don't know, but I'd argue that this Punisher will be far superior than Jane's.

Thomas jane was far from being the perfect person to play the Punisher. he's too short for a start and that alone is a major factor. Add to the fact that he resembled nothing like the character from any time in the comic and you kind already have steered far from the "perfect" mark. Jane's Punisher movie had him getting shot and beaten far too often to be considered a good portrayal from the character who barely gets a scratch in the comics. Ray Stevenson is far taller and has a much closer resemblance to both the comic character and the popular cover artist Tim Bradstreet. This movie can't be any worse than the failed version they made with Thomas Jane or the one with Dolph who looked like he was on heavy drugs! I'll watch it with an open mind.

his looks like its gonna suck , the only thing i want to see in it is jigsaw.

Yes cant wait

I'm definitely going to see this movie! That's a really interesting idea that Lexi Alexander was hired as the director. Action movies don't need to be strictly the domain of male influence; looks like Ms. Alexander will provide moviegoers with an entertaining bullet-blastin'-and-butt-whippin' motion picture!

I'm suprised that no one here has yet to remark on the MARVEL KNIGHTS logo at the beginning. I wonder if that's a sign of more things to come...

Posted by: Harish on November 15, 2008 at 09:25:37

I like how they've slid this under the Marvel Knights imprint, it's surely a sign that Marvel intends to branch out more with their films. Exciting times in that respect, and more so is this film. Can't wait to see it! I just hope that they've got it right this time!

This movie looks cool it has done some thing even the TDK hasn't done, mainly with the director showing us the a cool action sequence.

The best website to promote the character my main concern is, will Marvel and Liongate push to have a sequeal.

Many of us have seen the Mark Goldblatt version, Jonathan Hensleigh can the Punisher finally get a sequeal with a bigger budget?

Come on Lexi I have faith in you make us proud, if your not the director on the sequeal please be a producer.

By the way has anyone noticed that one of the hand guns is not featured on the website, the 50 calibre revolver by S&W.
