Now that the teaser trailer for Lexi Alexander's Punisher: War Zone is out, the director has commented on the reaction at her official Blog. Here's several clips:

Wow, I was psyched and surprised to see the trailer, I had no clue it was coming out so early.

I'm also blown away that there is such a huge reaction to it. The good, the bad, I love it all. I've been getting emails from all over the world and heard from friends I've known in the Karate and Kickboxing circuit whom I haven’t spoken to in years. I'm starting to realize how huge The Punisher fan base is.

I'm not sure what kind of impression I would get from this trailer if I didn't actually know the film. I am utterly impressed, though, they managed to find that much PG rated action footage at all. It had to be a challenge to cut a trailer from our action stuff without showing any gore and blood.

I've been told that you can't even show heads blowing up in red-band trailers. I hope that's not true because that would suck. It's weird to see Castle shoot all those bullets and not see the thugs who are catching them. That's the best f**king part about it!!!

I hate to say it, because I think Titus Pulo is a bad*ss, but I think I like the first (Thomas Jane) movie better, but I guess we'll see when it comes out. Thomas Jane would still make a better Steve Rogers for the Ultimates/ Avengers movie in my opinion though.

I dont think im excited for this movie..its going to go along with the first Hulk and Elektra as the only marvel movies I will not own. I hope Im wrong but does any one else think This looks a little cheesy? It doesn't feel like the punisher yet...

Geez... this guys doesnt looks like the Punisher at all. Mainly his get-up, but the actor himself as well. His face is way to old and skinny, not to mention that godawful neck protector thing... WTF! Even Jane looked better.

I mean, the first had a lot of wrong stuff, but nothing they couldnt fix without "rebooting" it. He slicks back his hair and moves to NY. Boom. Done. Same continuity and everything.

Oh well, I'll just wait for the 3rd "reboot". (hopefully Marvel-y made, THE HELL AWAY FROM LIONSGATE)

The trailer looks extremely bad and I don't think Ray Stevenson looks the part of The Punisher and the costume is terrible!!! I second the notion though that Thomas Jane would be an amazing Captain America!

Umm, 2sday, Punisher is a war veteran, and hes been through alot, he should look like a mess_in this case old looking,..weird enough Stevenson could look like someone who has been in Vietnam,or Sarajevo?,..Jane was not a bad casting, but he was just too clean and nice looking. And not to mention they put Jigsaw in the movie as the villain, someone who could actually mess around with The Punisher's head, hes pretty much The Punisher's Joker.
I agree with Cap LIVES! i rather see them cast Thomas Jane as Captain America i think he would fit the role.
And bringing it back to Nyc would be the wisest decision, since his first appearance he was a New Yorker and i think its obvious enough to put him where he belongs, I mean what would spidey look like if Spiderman was set in Miami?

I agree with 2sday. Marvel NEEDS to take control of The Punisher. It's a shame they've said no to any R rated films. Let's pray they change their minds. I have been hating his spacecuit from the first photo. He's got a f***ing accent that makes him sound like Clive Owen! I'm sure this script would be better if it was differently executed. It just doesn't seem to be done in Frank's true style. But thye've got all year yet, so let's just hope this is a passable action flick rather than a Punisher film. I was almost turning around about this movie bad. It appears Tom Jane's choice to leave was a sign from the man Frank hates, that this film amy be good, but it won't be The Punisher. Despite my hate, we really haven't seen enough to pronounce the idead cursed. Tom for Captain America sounds alright, but I don't know. He's still the Punisher in my mind, and they're two completely different characters. Plus, he doesn't really have the voice for it. But anything is better than McConaughey.

The one thing i dont get is how was it lionsgate put out a trailer and lexi alexander didnt know about it? doesnt she have control over her film?

Guys, what yopu all appear to be forgetting is the fact that Frank isn't about a look, he isn't about having the right costunes, (or he'd be in spandex with white boots!). The punisher is about 1 pissed off guy going around and f**king up bad guys. Simple, end of. Go get 'em Frank.

I just have one question for you...How can you like the previous movie better than the new one when you haven't even seen the new one?

Unless you've seen it, you have no basis for your statement and sound rather...less than smart...

I'm sorry Captain Wow but how the hell can you say you like the Thomas Jane version better? This one isn't even out. And i'm sorry but, I love The Punisher, have done for a good 16 yrs now but the Tom Jane movie sucked! For a guy called The Punisher, he did very little actual 'punishing'. All he did was frame people. I think Punisher: War Zone looks great, love the neon lights, looks almost other worldly.

This is so much people don't understand about this film, and Tom Jane fanboys will jump on for an excuse to hate it.

I'm personally excited. It's the Punisher. Cold hearted. Guns. Knives. Corrupt people. Death. Julie Benz. We haven't seen what seems to be anything on Jigsaw yet either! I wanna see it ASAP!

I hope the score is good. I hate when people directors just have some random yelling metal head to go with it, it takes me out of the action. I prefer just the intrumental instead, and maybe for the soundtrack you can have the lyrics? I don't know. Worked for Iron Man though.

I just feel the need to random say Lexi is hot though. It's a turn on to see a woman create such manic mayhem, love it, and be so good looking at the same time.

Gareth Enis's punisher is the difinitive look from the marvel max series, I think, that Stevenson looks more like that than Thomas or Dolph. I think they have got the grit nailed down. Punisher isnt about the costume s another poster mentioned. Most of the trailer looks to be made out of one sequence anyway, so lets wait and see until it comes out before we are too harsh
