Julie Benz (Rambo, "Dexter," "Angel") hit the green carpet of The Incredible Hulk premiere Sunday night at the Universal City Walk to support Gale Anne Hurd, who not only produced this Friday's Universal release, but also Benz's upcoming action-thriller, Punisher: War Zone. Benz, who confessed she's a "big Hulk fan," stopped to chat with ComingSoon.net/Superhero Hype! about the new "Punisher" film, for which the trailer should be out "within the next three weeks," according to Hurd.

CS/SHH!: What can you tell me about "Punisher: War Zone"?
Julie Benz: It comes out in December and you're going to see a much darker, edgier Punisher than you did in the past.

CS/SHH!: Did being a brunette help you get into character for the film?
Benz: Oh yeah. I play this kind of New York Italian cop's wife and had to do an accent and everything. It was great. I've never been brunette before and I loved it.

CS/SHH!: Tell me more about your character.
Benz: I have a small daughter in the movie. Stuff happens and I get very angry.

CS/SHH!: Why do you get so angry?
Benz: There's no good guy to me. Everyone is bad.

reboot? no, i think thomas jane should've stayed on for a 2nd one... this Ray Stevenson guy is not gonna cut it. WAR ZONE will not be as bad as Spiderman 3, however. Speak up! get Macguire and Raimi off the Spiderman franchise

Ray Stevens is the freaking Punisher, Jane was good, the story was weak no doubt, but this time the director is awsome and the actor is the living embodiemtn of Frank Castle!!

At first I was thinking...didn't they just do a punisher movie. Then I realized oh yeah... it wasn't awful but it also wasn't memorable either. So when I started looking at the director and cast it makes me think this could be good. all you need to do is focus on the darker aspects of the punisher character. Psychotic Ruthless killer that will stop at nothing to put the baddies down and a few good fight scenes... that's all you need.

My input Ray Stevenson looks like he can pull it off i have faith in the cast plus it is the best version of the punisher the Max version.But i hate when moives reboot unless it realy needs it punisher1 was a ok film wit yes a weak story but tom jane did a great job as frank overall i dont think they should have rebooted.They could have retooled the story of this one to make it a sequal to the last.Ps no spidey bashing realy not in the mood to hear negative **** about a amazing franchise wit a not so amazing conclusion.

Zaovisier, it's too easy to blame Raimi and Macguire for Spiderman 3. People forget it's mostly the Avi Arad/ the fanboys that demanded Venom who deserve the blame. And as good as the first two Spiderman films were, I think 3 left such a bad taste in peoples mouths, that the only sensible thing to do would be a fresh take on things. As for Punisher, Tom Jane was good, but we need to wait for a trailer before we can start judging Stevenson (Do you remember how small Jane was?!) The series definitely needs
a reeboot. (No more intricate fire hydrant gags. No more Travolta either. Or Tampa Florida. Or fat guys obsessed with opera. Or paper cutters to the head.......... yeah, reboot seems about called for)

i recently saw ''outpost'' with stevenson and i gotta say he looks just like frank.i had my doubts at the beginning because i really liked tomas jane as frank.i think stevenson will be great.i just hope we see a brutal movie about the punisher.we've already seen two mediocre(one mediocre and one bad sorry)movies already.punisher deserves a good movie worthy of the comic.i think we should have seen a good punisher movie at least 20 years earlier.it's not like spiderman or iron man with all the cgi.just a good director with a good script.heck you don't even need a great actor to play the punisher.paul verhoeven would make a good punisher movie.

@ Adam West

I thought the fire hydrant thing was awesome. It showed how smart the Punisher is supposed to be. He's not all brute force (although often has to resort to it). I thought it showed off his ex-military/tactical background is a nice, subtle way. The fact that his mind looked for sneaky ways to set people up, rather than just put one in their dome, was really cool.

I wasn't aware that this was a reboot...as a matter of fact I'm almost sure that they said it was taking place after the events of the first movie. And for those who don't know, Thomas Jane actually opted out of this movie to do "The Mist" so it's actually his fault he's not in it, not the studio's.

BTW Adam, what's wrong with a paper cutter / guillotine to the head? That was one of the more hardcore scenes in the first movie.
