Adam Brody Talks Justice League

Superhero Hype! brother site ShockTillYouDrop.com visited the Vancouver set of Megan Fox horror-comedy Jennifer's Body and got some quotes from Adam Brody about the Justice League movie.

"I probably shouldn't be commenting on this, but who cares?" he said when asked about what happened to the Warner Bros. project that has George Miller attached to direct. " I don't totally know, I know there was a tax credit thing and I know that the initial writers strike was a hindrance. I know they've got Batman coming out and Singer wants another Superman - this is only speculation on my part, no inside knowledge on this - but as a fan I can understand how there's controversy whether to try and build those, or building the franchise together. I think between the tax credit and I think... I think maybe it'll still happen. I truly don't know any more than you guys do.

"I know Ryan Reynolds was attached to the Flash for a while, then I got the part and I read on the internet 'Oh, he's no Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Renolds is the only Flash!' If I don't do it and hopefully in a year or two it'll be someone else and they'll get sh*t for not being me and I was the only person who could have ever conceivably been the Flash, it was so obvious."

Shock also asked him what superhero he would like to play if he doesn't get the Flash. "I secretly... sh*t, I shouldn't say this stuff," Brody answered.

What about Ant-Man? "F**k Ant-Man, man," he laughed. "As a kid, as much as I liked the Flash, but the dream would always be to be Spider-Man. I always associated the most with Peter Parker. I could never be Batman obviously. I've always been jealous of Spider-Man."

Reminded that there's still a chance in case Tobey Maguire doesn't return, Brody said, "I kinda know, they're making a fourth one..."

Justice League is going to be wack!!

First!

Posted by: lostboy on May 14, 2008 at 10:01:34

i sense this movie will be crap

Posted by: McAlister on May 14, 2008 at 10:01:44

He sounds kind of deluded on the whole Flash thing, with how he thinks fans, in a year or two, will think we was the only person who could conceivably play the Flash.

And it really sounds like he wants that Spider-Man 4 part more than he's letting on. Unfortunately, it could happen.

Ryan Reynolds WOULD be a way better Flash, he's perfect for the part. I'm kinda glad that they shut down the movie. What is it wihout Superman and Batman, anyway? They should go the extra mile and tie Superman and Batman into it, instead of doing a half-@$$ job, taking the easy way out and just not including them.

Posted by: B on May 14, 2008 at 10:04:17

No....it's because Reynolds is a better actor and looks the part of Barry or Wally.

Now, Bart....Brody could do Bart. But I could not take him seriously as the Flash beyond that.

Posted by: RHIAN on May 14, 2008 at 10:04:27

GO BACK TO THE OC FAAAAAAAAAAAGG!!!!!!!!

Posted by: HOWBOUTNO on May 14, 2008 at 10:07:34

How bout nobody plays the Flash, because this movie never gets made, and Ryan Reynolds gets a job at Hertz Rent-a-Car, where he can put his charisma to good use.

"Smokin' Aces"... I WANT THAT 2 HOURS OF MY LIFE BACK

Posted by: Henry Pym on May 14, 2008 at 10:11:36

"F*#k Ant-Man?! F*#k you, you little NOBODY! You'd take Ant-man in a second, but it will never be offered because you are just another pretty-boy and not a real actor. As soon as I get done with my wife's new solar-powered wings, I am gonna come to vancouver, go giant-size, and squash you like a Spider-boy, you tiny Jerk.

Posted by: Krumm on May 14, 2008 at 10:27:49

I'd love to see him do Spidey if Tobey doesn't decide to come back.

Posted by: eejo on May 14, 2008 at 10:31:44

He'd make a good Tim Drake in a live-action Titans movie!

Posted by: Pimpnickel on May 14, 2008 at 10:33:01

What a load of bollocks! is anyone else pissed off with these new breed on "actors" who are only getting by because of their looks??
Seriously Adam, you cant act for ****. No really. Like Rhian sed, go bak to the O.C where you can spend time brooding and posing your way through the whole crappy show!
And don't diss Ant-Man if you aint a fan. Its got way more of a fan-base than your crappy O.C bull****.
Pompous Arse

Sad wb should have had him play the flash would have been perfect. But now he will play deadpool who to me is the right role for ryan

Posted by: Thugnificent on May 14, 2008 at 10:48:19

He'd make a GREAT Flash. Cast his ass as Flash NOW. Preferably Barry Allen cuz he's the most adaptable to screen, not having the whole Kid Flash/rip-off origin continuity like Wally West and Bart, who were both lame-ass sidekicks, so Barry Allen would be best cux he's most self contained. This guy would be good as Barry Allen or Wally West, even Bart Allen. He'd make a good Flash, that's what I'm saying.

I hope this film happens!

Posted by: GLKEL on May 14, 2008 at 10:50:26

I agree, he'd be great as any Flash.

Ya know, I'd prefer to see Barry Allen as Flash too. Love the forensic scientist thing and he's alive again in Final Crisis with new speed force powers, FYI.

MAKE THIS MOVIE ALREADY.

I'd just like to note here for those of us that have only seen the JL cartoon that the Flash (every incarnation, except maybe Bart) is a sensitive, family oriented, clea-cut, straight laced guy. INCLUDING WALLY.
Ryan Reynolds, though a better actor, absolutely DOES NOT fit the profile of Wally, or, god help them, Barry. Does not. Don't argue over the acting choice of a character you know next to nothing about. Pompous though he might be, poor actor though he might be, Adam Brody is known for playing the more sensitive guys, much closer to the personality of the Flash. He's not an obnoxious Quicksilver parallel, guys.

lets not jump the gun, hes a decent actor, probably added something different to the oc to be honest. as for spiderman 4 he does seem to have that wit and quip that spiderman excels at, lets face it maguire is getting on a bit and more mature roles are likely to start to appeal so brody could be a good replacement.

with successful franchises like TDK and with new work on the man of steel a justice league movie would be too soon, establish the other members in their own films, dc should take a leaf from marvels way of making superhero franshises e.g the avengers

Posted by: AndrewRyder on May 14, 2008 at 10:53:38

I would really enjoy Brody as either the flash or peter parker and I really think you stupid fan boys need to cut him some slack and stop trying to find things to pick on. He's a great actor!

Posted by: Is that sonnova bich STILL in the shower??!! on May 14, 2008 at 10:53:42

Hell yeah. This guy is Flash.

And for the Flash's first big screen outing it would only be right if it were Barry Allen first. You can't jump to Wally West aka Kid Flash or Bart Allen aka Impulse as Flash without being aware of/establishing Barry Allen first. Make the movie about the one, true Flash, Barry Allen.

Posted by: The one, true Flash says on May 14, 2008 at 10:56:36

Brody would be great as any Flash. I like the guy. Saw him in the Land of Women, he's totally Flash.

And I agree, Barry Allen is the way to go.

Posted by: 3minutes on May 14, 2008 at 10:56:48

Adam brody I'm with you. You're way better than ryan reynolds guys

Posted by: CHH on May 14, 2008 at 10:59:11

Oh, I agree. Barry all the way, Brody all the way. My beef was with the idea of Reynolds playing him.

Posted by: CALL Me MR.BitTChes ! on May 14, 2008 at 11:01:02

I agree w/ Pimpnickel. Today's so-called "actors" are for the MOST(if not ENTIRE) part, a bunch of posers, w/ a false sense of accomplishment who for whatever reason BELIEVE they're entitled to receive good film roles, rather than actually have the talent & drive to EARN them. In the case of "super heroes & Villains" and such, they REALLY don't take these roles seriously AT ALL.It's just an opportunity for them to get some type of "quick-fix" exposure & their agents to get a fast track in the industry. It's hardly ever been about the craft or understanding or relating to these iconic characters that have been around FAR LONGER than they ever have & will ever Be.

Posted by: Snorkllz on May 14, 2008 at 11:03:16

Yea I kinda get the feeling that a justice league movie at this point would suck Unless Bale and Routh were part of it and they had one hell of a director and script. Bale is the only batman, and while SR sucked ass Routh was still a good choice for the role and I am more than willing to give him another chance, but singer HAS to go. His creative genius was all used up on X2.

I would really be happy with just a Superman & Batman collaboration, while they work on establishing the rest of the characters of the justice league... Then all come together for a big kick ass justice league movie.... Reynolds would be great a flash.

Posted by: Hugh Jackman 3000 on May 14, 2008 at 11:03:28

Brody would be great as Flash, you *******s shut the **** up. He IS a descent actor but an unknown, he's perfect for Flash. And he certainly isn't "too young" to be Flash. Barry was 24 when he became Flash (and Wally was 13 when he became Kid Flash). I'm fine with his casting as Flash. I prefer to see Barry Allen on screen first too. They could even have Jay Garrick make a cameo as a comic book character (like the original Flash comic) who inspired the Flash's namesake and in a second or third Flash film introduce Wally West as Kid Flash and eventually Flash. But I want Barry first tho. He has the best origin/job, is most original, is not a spin off of any other Flash/sidekick, he's the most self contained, is wisecracking yet smart and would work best on screen.
