cant wait wonder if scarlet will be using a russian accent
Posted by: KJ on September 25, 2009 at 03:15:42
Ehh....What I really really hope for is that the sequel won't go overkill with the humor. For some reason, lots of superhero movies do that w/ the second and third movies. Take Spiderman 3...terrible humor! Totally takes away from the darkness. Hellboy 2: just excessive comedy. WTF!! Oh and how about transformers 2? PLEASE don't do that w/ this movie! You had it right the first time...keep that amount! With that said...IM2 will surely be badass action.

I just seen some armour in a suitcase there people
slightly gutted was hoping they would bring in extremis
however this will be kick ass

I don't see an overdose on humour in IM2- there will be a lot, as there was in the first one, and it will probably be better humour- but conversely, I see the dark/heroic scenes going more intense as well. I mean look at Mickey Rourke and tell me that guy isn't up to some seriously bad stuff.I also forsee some poignent scenes of Stark watching film of his dad (John Slattery from Mad Men!! He just needs to play himself, he IS Howard Stark like RDJ IS Tony!)
Something I noticed-
Red Iron Man briefcase Pepper drops out of car, mabye has repulsor gauntlets in it? Fav's said in the past he doesn't want to somehow have the whole suit in a case, like in the comics, but I could see the gauntlets in it.
Also like the way the Race-scene is panning out. Rourke definitely gets a suit upgrade, its just at this point he's got the drop on Stark, so they have to ram him with their car and stuff, but once Stark gets his suit and they face-off again, Whiplash will need to have upped his game.

Supremely cool

Natalia not Nastasha aka they're changing origins aka she might not be a russian national aka most likely NO Russian accent. and I believe it won't be the same without Terrance's Rhodes because Don's Rhodes still looks like too much like a hard ass
Posted by: Danny_Rand on September 25, 2009 at 03:39:34
Zeke-
Have you been reading War Machine recently? Rhodey IS a hard ass man, thats his thing.
Also, yeah, they call her Natalie. I'm wondering if she's only russian in name- like the Abmonination in Icred. Hulk was British, but born in russia, so he still had the basic background.
So I wonder what her role will be? Ex-spy merc. under the employ of Hammer? Or working for the Russians/CIA/SHIELD, trying to steal starks secrets? I kinda like the SHIELD thing- it would be a VERY Nick Fury thing to do, try to recruit Stark to the Avengers but get info on his tech, just in case...

Zeke Staine The black Widow's name was originally Natalia Romanova. She Changed it to Natasha Romanoff. So Therefor They are following the comics more closely than you are.

Scarlet has said she won't be using a Russian accent, but her reasoning made sense, that being if you were a undercover russian spy, and people were looking for a undercover russian spy, would talk with a russian accent. I suppose calling herself Natalie instead of Natalia (a very russian name) is similar idea.

Alright, alright, they holding back the good stuff. Everything's what it should be. Can't wait for this movie.

iron man was awesome but it wasn't even violent...it shoulda been rated PG...only a little action in the beginning, in the middle for like 5 minutes when he returned to the middle east with his real iron man suit to take out terrorists, and at the last 10 minutes with Obadiah stane...basically three scenes of action that put together add up to like 15-20 min in a 120 minute long movie....not good enough for an action movie... a good action movie that 120 min long should have 60 min of action scattered throughout the film to balance thrills with dialogue and plot...but somehow iron man was still well made, but shouldve been passed through the MPAA with a PG rating....same with Ghost Rider which had terrible and basically no action and was a bad movie all around.Hopefully Iron Man 2 has more action this time around since we already know the character inside the suit as well as from the outside.
Fantastic 4: silver surfer was PG, the first shouldve been the same and not PG-13 because it was no different than the 2nd...in fact the 2nd was better and actually had more action.
The way i think the comic movies should be rated (and some are already rated this)
Blade- R
Blade 2 - R
Blade 3 - PG-13 (violent but no blood and gore)
Spider-Man - PG-13
Spider-Man 2 - PG (great movie but less violent than #1
Spider-Man 3 - PG-13
X-Men - PG (little to no action and violence)
X2 - PG-13
X3 - PG-13
Wolverine - PG-13
HULK - PG-13 (but action and movie was terrible and boring)
The Incredible Hulk - PG-13
Daredevil - R (really dark and thats what I liked about it though it couldve been better)
The Punisher - PG-13 (just a few scenes of blood that if blood omitted, could've been PG-13...there wasn't much action in this).
Elektra - PG (terrible movie..like watching power rangers)
Fantastic 4 - PG (wtf PG-13 for this? it was like very childish but fun nonetheless)
Fantastic 4: Silver Surfer - PG
Ghost Rider - PG (no action, villains die quick, wtf...bad movie)
Iron Man - PG (not that violent)
Punisher: War Zone - R
The Dark Knight - R (loved this movie, best comic book film...just the disturbing methods of the joker should've garnered this an R...but they hid a lot of the kills, like Gambol...shoulda showed it and made it more intense and graphic and got an R rating...trust me, it woulda still raked in the big bucks)

Same here, throughout the video I was hoping to hear Scarlett speak in a (or an attempt in a) Russian accent.

Iron man was never in the same universe as The Dark Knight but it was a suprisingly good popcorn flick. I have serious doubts about this sequel for the following reasons. Recasting of Rhodey (when Terrance Howard was one of the best things about the first film) The addition of a hot IT girl in black leather to create a romantic triangle. (Yawn)

I just want to throttle the reporter every time he calls Natasha "Natalie". Even if that's the info he's given, the geek inside of me is like "don't you know it's NATASHA??!!" I was like that when I saw the first one in theatres, and people from the audience came out saying they wanted to see "Warhammer".
-_-'
That just revealed that she's posing as Natalie.
She will not have the Russian accent, as Scarlett stated during ComicCon... the reasoning being that a trained secret agent of Black Widow's stature would be able to drop or cover the Russian accent when needed. You know, that's kind of like saying: "we're too lazy to go through a coach to gear up for a realistic accent, so we're just going to leave it out".... but it DOES make perfect sense.

Nelson you have very poor judgment, PUNISHER PG13?? His whole family was murdered in front of him, even his wife and kids
your a tool
go die in a whole
Posted by: Pete on September 25, 2009 at 08:58:59
If you all recall the casting call for the Black Widow was a female with a russian accent. Hopefully the studio didn't let that go just so they could cast Scarlet for the part.

uh..movies aren't rated higher strictly based on violence dude. sexual content and language play a big part. with some of the things said in blade trinity, it would never be pg-13. additionally, just because the joker's scary doesn't mean dark knight should've been r, they cut away from quite a few potentially gruesome scenes and there's little to no profane language.
Posted by: Fanboiii on September 25, 2009 at 10:33:55
ddb is right. if you watch TDK, it was just filmed smart. a lot of the violence was left implied rather than actually showing it. there was nothing that was lewd or profane, so it wasn't rated r.

NOT THE F'IN SUITCASE!!! THAT HUNK OF JUNK WILL NOT FIT IN THAT THING!!!

What no video of Rourke's cockatoo? I wouldn't worry too much about Black Widow's name. Remember way back when they were starting production on the first Fantastic 4 film, it was written that they were casting for one Victor Van Damm!! I'm sure they'll get this right too!

At least put a mask or some armor on Whiplash.
