SDCC: Hi-Res Iron Man 2 Photos

Paramount Pictures has now provided us with high-resolution versions of most of the new Iron Man 2 photos that have popped up in various places. You can view them all here.

The official website has been updated as well in preparation for the sequel.

Opening May 7, 2010, the Jon Favreau-directed sequel stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau, Mickey Rourke, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Garry Shandling, John Slattery, Kate Mara, Clark Gregg and Olivia Munn.

Back off Whiplash already...I think he gives just the right tone to the character...odd ball even...just right. Reminds me of Doc Oc from Spiderman 2 and don't tell me the didn't do him right.

Did you see the Iron Man 2 poster with Iron Man and the triangle chest plate?

I hope Tony does build a suit with that...sweeet!

Favreau did a good job on IM so I expect the next one to be good too. Scarlett looks good as the Black Widow...I hope they train her to fight and she does her own stunts that would be great.

So why is the chestplate in the suites glowing when obviously the one in starks chest is what makes them glow or am I reading too far into this??

Mmmm,I don't like the looks of Mickey Rourkes Whiplash either. He just looks like some stinky prison tatted russian guy that bathes in bacon grease. He looks low budget and clunky. Tow up from da flo up. He looks like a mustachioed drunk wrestler(Ugg! I hate wrestling!!), like a broke ass Yanni, like ...like...well you get the picture:)

God awful! Whiplash? Really? So instead of choosing top notch villains like Crimson Dynamo or The Mandarin, we get a d-list character? It would be the equivalant of the Spider-Man 4 villian being Hydroman! I hope to God this movie doesn't suck, because the first one kicked ass. Olivia Munn = yum yum

Crimson Dynamo wasn't done because Fervereau thought that the villian in armor was done already in the first movie and that non-fanboys would say "Man,they already did that"! What will more than likely be done is that Whiplash's suit is his own low-budget design that he made possibly in or just out of prison and Justin Hammer helps Whiplash design a more badass suit which would be a hybrid of The Crimson Dynamo armor merged with Whiplash's suit.Personally I think that the villain "Ghost" would have been more interesting. The "Mandarin" will be the villain in IM3. Hopefully Hiroyuki Sanada will play as the Mandarin.I hope that Marvel hasn't ignorantly signed Johansson to a multi-movie deal just yet without seeing how IM2 turns out. Johansson is hot but I'd still rather see Emily Blunt in IM3 and The Avengers.
