Remember this article talking about how filming for Iron Man 2 was going to take place in Monaco during the Formula 1 Grand Prix? Scooper 'Don't Say' just sent us these exclusive photos of the replica racetrack set they are building at Downey Studios in Downey, California.

Director Jon Favreau's Iron Man 2, opening in theaters on May 7, stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau, Mickey Rourke, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Garry Shandling, John Slattery, Kate Mara and Clark Gregg.

Toad-

If that is correct and that happens... I will seriously be psyched for that scene...

Posted by: ravenlord on June 5, 2009 at 11:51:14

ah these are exciting pictures.....I'm so thrilled to be looking at an empty race track replica. Why do they bother posting photos of nothing?

Posted by: SHH on June 5, 2009 at 11:53:46

Wow, I remember starting this site when people were excited to see any little new detail about movies and when people actually liked to be teased. Now, everyone has to see everything NOW and have EVERYTHING spoiled in the trailers and what not. This immediacy thing has gotten out of hand. We will continue to be posting these kind of things for people who actually care, so if you don't like it, don't enter these kind of news items.

Where...is...SCARLETT?!!!

She is a proper tease.

I like to see stuff like this, it gets my mind wandering about what I'm going to see.

Thank you for posting it. :)

@ SHH

Right on brother!

Keep up the good work SHH. Don't mind idiots like ravenlord. He's probably about 500 lbs of wasted life sitting behind his computer doing nothing but wasting time.

I know I speak for most when I say we really think this website rocks. Love to get the up and coming on all of the heroes movies.

And as far these pics go, SWEET. I would love to see the scene that toad mentioned above.

Keep up the good work SHH.

Thank you SHH. Please take it a step farther and just delete the jackass comments so the fans don't have to drudge through them.

I live 2 miles away from Downey Studios. I gotta head down there to see some of the filming. This is pretty sweet.

Posted by: all2easy on June 5, 2009 at 12:18:24

Well, the subject is kind of miss-leading. You say "Iron Man 2 set pics" and we're thinking some cool lab/tech stuff. Then all we get is a race track - the last thing that comes to mind when I think Iron Man.

You could have at least told us they were guerilla photos.

Posted by: kyle on June 5, 2009 at 12:20:36

Regardless of all the people complaining, I'll still come to this site every day in hopes of any news, regardless of the importance.

Posted by: marantaz on June 5, 2009 at 12:21:51

"You can please some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time..." but don't worry about people who just want to B&M about everything, SHH. The photos are cool... what I like about seeing photos like this is that the sets can look so cheesy and cheap when seen in real life, but on the big screen, it's as if you are actually there ... it's amazing what a director can do with so little.
Photos like these are appreciated by those of us who still marvel at the production of cinema. Thanks.
But don't delete the stupid comments... it's good to know who you're dealing with...

There's a fine line between being teased and seeing pictures you could see yourself while driving by. Anyways these are cheesy low-res pictures taken by the scouting crew, but I do enjoy the well composed photo of the car door mirror.

Regardless, I do agree that the 'immediacy' factor is something that has been taken out of hand. But this is hardly the time to address it because these pictures are genuinely bad.

Posted by: Captain Obvious on June 5, 2009 at 12:26:22

all2easy... a set is a set. The headline isn't misleading, you just read into it what you wanted to and then were disappointed. It's the problem we all have with internet and movies today. we see something, hear a rumor, read into it what we want, build it up and then we are disappointed when it doesn't happen the way we thought it would.

still though, its a lame attempt at a story. pics of a race track set from a car window? not exactly news worthy.

Posted by: devo on June 5, 2009 at 12:41:34

hardly what you folks would consider "bad"...just not necessarily worth your time, right? not everyone wants to hear comments on how horrible this type of news is. because for those of us who actually enjoy these tidbits, the only "genuinely bad" part of finding news is reading through all your moronic bull****.

excellent job with the photo, in my opinion. i mean really, how are antique cars NOT tony stark's bag?! things just keep getting better and better....for those of us who actually give a **** enough to pay attention.

Posted by: R8 on June 5, 2009 at 12:45:14

well the pictures do fit with the report that 2nd Unit was filming in Monaco,Italy for the race, so its no doubt that this set will be for Iron Man.What other production will film the Monaco Grand Prix??when it clearly fits with the report stated earlier.

OMFG! My place of employment is just right across the street from this place!

SHH: Do you guys need more pictures? I can probably take them from the north-facing side of my building. Although I don't have a telescopic lense for my DSLR.... Nevermind then.

Posted by: Scott on June 5, 2009 at 12:50:43

Very nice SHH and keep up the good work! I'm still one of those fanboys from back in the Spider-Man Hype! days that loves to see every little set photo and detail emerge. The Black Widow unveiling will come soon enough and until then, I think it's pretty cool to see set photos like these.

Posted by: JMD on June 5, 2009 at 12:57:12

Agree with Rodrigo...where are some photos of Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow. Those would be some sweet teaser pics.

If what Toad says is true that will be a sweet scene.

Posted by: Jerry on June 5, 2009 at 13:03:34

SHH: right on man. You guys are my #1 info source and from the very start you have gotten it all right. Keep up the good work and let's not pay attention to destructive comments.
Thanks!

Posted by: Gigli on June 5, 2009 at 13:10:02

I compleatly agree with the others on here. Though these may not be the most exciting pics, they sure beat a kick in the crotch anyday. Thanks SHH! Keep on keepin on!

Posted by: ironhead on June 5, 2009 at 13:13:52

wow, piss drunk stark interfering with the grand prix? that's gonna make me laugh - i hate racing

Posted by: IronFan72 on June 5, 2009 at 13:31:08

I am thrilled with any info about the film, while I don't need to know everything about the film or see every picture, it is nice to see tid bits here and there to keep the excitement up, even though that is not a problem for me, I personally am more excited for this sequal than I was for the first film and I didn't think I could get more excited.
Keep up the great work SHH!, best site on the web.
