Favreau on the Iron Man 2 Rehearsals
March 27, 2009
Rehearsals have begun for Iron Man 2 and director Jon Favreau has given a few updates on his Twitter page. On Tuesday, he posted that he had a "Great rehearsal today with Gwyneth, RDJ and Don Cheadle," while yesterday he posted that he had "Rehearsed today with Mr. Rockwell" along with this photo of Rockwell.
Rockwell will play Justin Hammer, a multibillionaire businessman and a rival of industrialist Tony Stark.

Finally I have a use for twitter! This is the only way inane updates on what someone's thinking every 3 seconds sounds cool- when they're making a movie! And actors always end up having downtime between scenes when they're dressing the sets! My Spider Senses tell me we might get some interesting stuff from people in the time to come...
PS- Everyone go see I Love You Man. Jon Favreau MAKES that movie.

Things are biginning to happen, small things, but something at least....

Sam looks good with the slicked back hair, which makes him look more like Hammer, can' freckin wait for this movie.

who is rourke playing again??? its not crimson dynamo, right?
Posted by: Surfer13 on March 27, 2009 at 09:35:03
He looks like Dana Carvey as the Church Lady.

Now I get why they cast a younger dude to play Justin Hammer who in the comics is a old man. See Hammer is pretty much the Anti-Tony Stark, you know? See Stark Industries is used for good while Hammer Industries is used for bad and it make sense if a young guy, Sam Rockwell, is a total equal to Tony Stark.

Ed-e, I think you hit the nail on he head. Especially when you consider the stuff Fav and Downey said about the script in interviews, about Tony coming to terms with his age (he's got this young version of him overtaking him). Throw some distance between he and Pepper because of his obsession with Iron Man, and I think we see what pushes him over the edge with his alcoholism.

Isn't Hammer a really old guy? Oh, well, it's not like the first "Iron Man" was that faithful, either.

I heard Black Widow isnt going to wear her outfit, until she joins SHIELD in the end. But,she will wear it in The Avengers.

Can't wait to see this movie! I enjoyed the first one very much. Good luck Mr. Favreau!!!

They first approached Pacino to be Hammer but then changed their minds... for the better I'm sure. Mickey Rourke looks hilarious with the long ponytail, but at least they didn't forget that part of Whiplash. I really hope they don't make him Russian. That's just silly. Does Scarlotti sound Russian to you?

This isn't how Rockwell will look in the movie. These are rehearsals. Emily Perkins had a buzz cut when rehearsing for Ginger Snaps, Ellen Page pretty much had the same thing going on in X-Men: The Last Stand.... just some small examples to go by, in case anyone is wondering.

Yes Scarlett Johanssons breast will look gorgeous, but her legs will lokk awful. She has "cankles" and pigeon-toed!!!

Does anyone remember seeing Sam Rockwell in the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie?
Just wondering.Cool pic of Rockwell and I'm looking forward to the Iron Man sequel. Oh yeah,Scarlett does have great breasts,I agree
with you Big Pine.

Fav convinced me he's the go-to director for superhero movies, so I'm really looking forward to this and The Avengers.
I could also care less for Scarlett Johansson as an actress but I'm looking forward to her **** in all that black leather.

I think it's so cool of Favreau to keep the fans in the loop like this.
Posted by: Carl Grissom on March 27, 2009 at 11:28:14
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Justin Hammer a hell of a lot older than Rockwell? Unless they're going to use make up, this could end up the wrong way.
Posted by: GreenNinjaN on March 27, 2009 at 11:42:39
Wow Rockwell looks great, I can't wait for this movie. At least there's a director out there who can stay true to source material unlike the crappy crap in DK. Since when did Batman have a "Q" that made all of his stuff for him and a butler that doesn't do any house work just to name a few of the things that are wrong with that movie.
Posted by: Wakkidus on March 27, 2009 at 11:46:37
Justin Hammer is downright elderly in the books... so unless they slap some "old man" make-up on Rockwell I guess they're going in a different direction with the character.... Not that I really care. Rockwell's a good actor and should be a cool adversary.
Posted by: ActionMan on March 27, 2009 at 12:21:04
I'm cool with Hammer being a bit younger. I'd almost rather have seen him in a Spidey film though.
Christian Bale was only doing his job, that people pay him a fortune to do right... and some dude repeatedly cocked it up.
When you're acting in a scene that important, you can't let the fury leave you. Bale just kept his intensity the whole time, and then went right back into the scenes. That's just a professional actor with a mission to get his job done.
The light guy was just some stooge, who is probably unemployed at the moment.

Rockwell was awesome in Galaxy Quest. No, seriously.
Posted by: ActionMan on March 27, 2009 at 13:20:04
Galaxy Quest was great. I wish they'd made a sequel.

It means ******* nothing when a Marvel fan says that a Marvel Superheroero Movie, Iron Man, is better than TDK,cause it simply aint true. Iron Man was more funny than serious and Gwyneth Paltrow's acting was TERRIBLE. I couldnt hear what anyone was saying cause music was constantly drowning out sound in every scene,so I lost interest.
