Iron Man 2 Talk, eBay Auction
Source:Superhero Hype!
September 8, 2008

While there's no commentary on the upcoming Iron Man DVD or Blu-ray Disc, FilmCrunch says that director Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr. participated in a live commentary this weekend at Santa Monica's Aero Theater. Here's an interesting bit:

Throughout the movie, the actor-turned-director pointed out and confirmed various scenes which hinted at both The Avengers movie (visible S.H.I.E.L.D. logos) and the sequel (he noted that the terrorist cell in the movie is merely one branch of Mandarin's group).

For more, hit the link above! Meanwhile, much like they did for Spider-Man 4, Stand Up To Cancer has launched an eBay auction for Iron Man 2 that ends on Sept. 15. If you're the highest bidder, you would receive the following:

- A visit to the set of Iron Man 2 (one shooting day)
- A meet and greet with the cast
- A walk-on/ extra role in the film for the auction winner
- Photo tour of the set with an Iron Man unit photographer to document the tour. Professional photos will be given to the winner of the experience.
- Tickets to the Los Angeles premiere for you and a guest
- Winner and Guest will walk the premiere's red carpet

Very nice. You can check it out here!

WTF at no commentary on the dvd. I was actually looking forward to hearing all of this on the blu-ray copy but its kinda a bummer now.

Good news, with Iron Man 2 in the works and the auction.

Bruce Wayne or Tony Starks. Who would win in a fist fight? Hint: The winner has a much better movie than the other does.

Amen to you Neil

I am excited that the terroist group was part of the Mandarin. I throughly think that IronMan 2 will be amazing.

Delighted to see things happening on this, IM was a delight. I think Cap and Thor will be the tough ones to do well. given the imposing physiques of both characters and the difficulty of casting ACTORS and not wrestlers. Downey has set the bar on superhero performances very, very, very high.

Can sum1 please why everyone liked Iron Man..I thought the movie was pretty boring and the fight scene at the end was lame..i also think Jon Favreau is a little overated

@scatterax

I doubt Iron Man could kill Batman. In a fight, Batman would find a way. Batman ALWAYS finds a Way. It's honestly the most annoying thing about him.

He'd whip out some Crazy Gizmo from his Utility Belt to Short out Iron Mans suit. Or spray him him with some Mystery Goop to make him Hyper Rust, or something. Batman Always has a Plan.

He has "Just In Case" Plans and weapons for almost every major hero in the DC universe, tucked away in his Cave. Iron Man wouldn't stand a Chance...

Your Welcome

Iron Man was a great way to kick off the summer. It had a great story, beautiful effects, and a light hearted fun about it. Can't wait for the sequel. Oh, and as much as I like Marvel, I, like Jorge, believe that batman, given time to an-alize Iron Man, would work up a plan of action and take him down.

Posted by: U R SICK on September 8, 2008 at 12:38:40

You are sadly mistaken if you think batman stands a chance against ironman. Thats like green hornet versus hulk ironman would murder batman. Dont forget tony starks isnt just ironman he is a super genius on the level of reed richards. Batman is a wack detective in a bat suit. Im sure tony could come up with a suit that batman couldnt even dream of. I mean tony made a suit that let him fight with the hulk for a short period which is amazing.

This entire batman can beat any super hero is so retarted 90% of the super heros out there would mop the floor with batman. hell one of the young avengers would kill batman.

Was Iron Man a fun movie?

Yes.

Was Iron Man a deep movie?

No.

Did Robert Downey Junior raise the bar for comic book character performances?

Yes.

Is Robert Downey Junior's performance still the benchmark for comic book characters in film?

No.

Look. Iron Man was a good summer movie, no doubt. I had a good time watching it, and the special effects were very impressive. But when I look back and recall what the movie meant to me, in the end, I remember it being little more than a shallow, stereotypical summer blockbuster with shameless hidden advertisement plugs sprinkled all throughout the film. That doesn't mean it wasn't a fun movie... it just means it wasn't anything remarkable. It won't be remembered as anything great 3, 4, 5 years from now.

UR Sick, Are you somehow suggesting that Iron Man can also beat Superman? If so, it is flawed logic at best, and Batman has beaten Superman a number of times. Batman is the best of the best at sizing up any opponent. BTW, Tony Stark ain't the only one with a flying robot suit. Bruce has one of his own. Honestly, it's a silly argument, as they belong to different universes, thus, they will never cross paths.

UR SICK

Yeah, it's a Stupid Argueement, and I also hate the fact that Batman has a Plan for everyone, but thats the way his charector is. Tony Stark may be a genius engineer, but in this world there are many kinds of smart my friend. Batman has the Street Smarts, and Stratigic Know how to take down anyone, not by sheer power, but by Planning, Preperation, Intelegence, and Quick Wits...

Iron Man vs Batman would be a close fight, but i believe that Iron Man would win.

And also, are we talking MOVIE-Iron Man and Batman, or Comics characters?

Cause if movie, Iron Man would easily win.
Comics, i still think Iron Man would win but it would be a close one.

Posted by: J.Orge: Dat Merc Wit Da Mouth on September 8, 2008 at 13:30:14

@Leo Jussilia

Well Movie Iron Man was sort of a Clumsy Oaf as he was still getting his Jet Boots wet. While Movie Batman was already a Seasoned Fighter with years of experience already under his Utility Belt. So yeah, in comics and in movies, I'd still bank on Batman for the win.

Posted by: DC Stinks!!!!! on September 8, 2008 at 13:55:16

Alright we've finally hit rock bottom. Who will win a fight between Batman and Iron Man? Really? How about who plays a better playboy millionaire/superhero, RDJ or Christian Bale? Hands down RDJ. Bale would play a better department store mannequin. He looks good and his face barely moves.

Mandarin will not be in the second movie, Favreau said so many times in interviews. He said he will be in the third one.

Posted by: ico on September 8, 2008 at 14:39:34

My votes on Crimson Dynamo because he was in early drafts of the first script.

Posted by: fixxxer on September 8, 2008 at 15:18:01

batman sucked, get over it. iron man was a kick ass movie and i look forward to the sequel.

Posted by: mrAmerica on September 8, 2008 at 15:46:58

Who decided you could only like one movie? Batman or Iron man? grow up already, by the way I made another poopee.

I wouldn`t be that interested in a visit to the set of Iron Man 2.Some people on SuperHero Hype may be,but for me that`s not sonething that I would have time to entertain.A ebay auction is great and I`m sure it`s all for a worthy cause. For me going to see Iron Man 2 in theatres will be enough of a grand experience. In a sense I`ll be seeing the sets anyways(it might not be quite the same as seeing the sets in person but I`m sure I`ll survive). As for the people always posting ''first'' instead of actually commenting on the topic at hand or saying something of some intelligence well, that`s up to them.If that`s all they want to post on SuperHero Hype than they`re moe than entitled to do that.It seems to irritate a lot of people on SuperHero Hype when others post ''first'' but I could care less.Who really cares who`s first, second or third? This isn`t a contest,is it?.Or at least I know it isn`t for me.
