The Incredible Hulk Smashes the Competition

Universal's The Incredible Hulk debuted at No. 1 on all three charts last week.

The summer theatrical hit bumped the previous week's winner, Paramount's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, to the No. 2 position on all three charts.

"Hulk" handily took the top spot on the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart for the week ending Oct. 26, selling more than four times as many copies as the next-highest-ranked debutante, The Strangers, also from Universal, which bowed at No. 3.

"Hulk" also topped Home Media Magazine's video rental chart for the week ending Oct. 26, though in rental stores it only generated about twice as many transactions as did "Strangers," which also bowed at No. 3.

"Hulk" scored its third win on the Nielsen VideoScan Blu-ray Disc chart.

Lets hope it makes enough money to secure a theatrical sequel, the last we need is any straight to dvd rubbish with somebody like "casper van where did my career go?" as bruce banner

Of course it's doing well- it under performed in theaters because alot of people were afraid of a repeat Ang Lee snore fest.
It was entertaining, engaging, alot of repeat viewing capability and it has one of the best 'Super fights' ever in a comic book movie.
That fight or type of battle is what Superman fans want to see: The man of Steel vs a super powered villain in downtown Metropolis and subsequently punching said villain thru a few buildings.
Thumbs up Hulk!!

this might help feed the franchise... kind of like what happened w/ Batman Begins: strong post DVD word-of-mouth rejuvinated DC... can't wait for hulk to smash in Avengers (hopefully)... that will friggin' ROCK!

Holy crap on a cracker! I had to frame by frame it but CAP IS THERE! I thought it was just a red blotch on the ice but the next frame showed the shield and the vertical red and white stripes! Very cool. Thanks for pointing it out guys!

I got this on Bluray, right now it's my top Bluray until TDK comes out...This movie was well done, I like it just as much as Ironman. I went to Target it was soldout, went to Walmart some guy was waving the last one in my face...hit Meijer's....finally....bliss.

Also I am getting pretty tired of people talking about the editing in this movie. WTF do any of you people that complain about it know about editing? There was no problem with editing its just that you aren't paying attention to the scenes.

This movie was WAY better when you could watch it with the deleted scenes, especially "bruce's guilt" and "Natures Mystery"

Posted by: Dr Moreau on October 30, 2008 at 12:50:54

In your face Ang Lee!!!! we need a second one and bring Norton back!!!!
If they dont then Marvel is mutating into ...a Hollywood studio.AAAARRGGGHHHHH!!!!

Posted by: jrobert on October 30, 2008 at 13:02:02

Of course The Incredible Hulk smashed the competition.Hulk is the strongest one there is!And inevitably,Hulk will smash!

FINALLY THIS MOVIE IS GETTING THE SUCCESS IT DESERVES!!!!

Posted by: IronMansMetalBallSack on October 30, 2008 at 13:08:23

Iron Man 2 needs to open up with Iron Man hunting down the Hulk. Cant wait for Avengers!

Posted by: hypestyle on October 30, 2008 at 13:17:12

Hopefully the movie will continue to have success at dvd as well as cable/TV sales, so that this will justify a future sequel and the inclusion of the Avengers—the next film has to have Sterns become the Leader, and more monster villains to fight, including giant robots..
