Gale Anne Hurd on the Future of The Hulk
October 24, 2008
MTV chatted with The Incredible Hulk producer Gale Anne Hurd, who said she has every intention on making a follow-up and that Edward Norton is signed on:
"It's all going to depend on the screenplay and where his character goes in any sequel, because he does have a multiple-picture deal," she said of Norton, who told us recently that he's waiting to hear from Marvel regarding Hulk's future. "[Norton's situation] is the same with every franchise like this, when you have one of the top actors of his generation."
But first, you're likely going to see him in The Avengers:
"Next, he's likely to appear in an 'Avengers' movie, but that's completely up to Marvel," she explained. "It's wonderful that Marvel now controls so many of their own characters, and they can create a Marvel universe in film and populate it with so many of their characters who naturally exist together. I think an 'Avengers' film is a very exciting prospect."

I the TIH was underrated. I watch it again and enjoyed it still. Glad to see that Norton is loyal. Hopefully, Marvel is.

Excellent. The Hulk is the hero for me, and what they did with the latest film was 100% good. I really do hope Edward Norton returns, because he did such a fantastic job. The same goes for Hurt, Tyler and Nelson. Here's hoping for Leader vs Hulk! Brains vs Brawn (and brains)!
I also hope Norton is open to doing an Avengers movie. The Hulk isn't much without Banner.

Before everyone starts breaking out the champange about Ed Norton let's wait and see what happens as time goes by. Look how it turned out w/ Terrance Howard. I would love to see Norton return, but who Knows if Marvel feels the same way.

Why do people have to mention Bat-man every time, there is another super-hero movie that does well/ or will do well?
Awesome News I loved TIH, just keep it Marvel.

I hope Ed Norton stays on board. I would've like to see another Hulk movie before the Avengers, But that means a longer wait.
I just hope all the individual movies that are coming out before the Avengers come together. And I would like to see more big cameos in the upcoming movies. I just get chills when Marvel unites their characters.
Superheroes and and horror movie monsters rock!!!

YESSS!!!! Hulk is a great character and deserves all the accolades he gets! TIH was great and I'm not going to say it was better or worse than other films that came out, but he definitely deserves more screen time too! Bring it on Marvel, and this time make his fight scenes longer.

Awesome news! I actually enjoyed the Incredible Hulk more Iron Man, it would be a shame if they decided to scrap the idea of a sequel.

This is really good news. Now all that's left is for somebody official to confirm or deny all these War Machine recast rumors, and if it's denied, then all is perfect in the Marvel Universe!!

Make it better. Two Hulk films, and the still can't get him right.
Posted by: David on October 24, 2008 at 03:30:13
thank God! I was concerned that Norton would not return, he's the perfect guy for the job, so I'm glad he's still in, and I can't wait to see what role he plays in the Avengers
Posted by: ted on October 24, 2008 at 03:30:43
id like to see a follow up but i dont think Norton will do it.
Especially in an avaengers piece where he has no creative control and the role will be smaller.
Posted by: IMD Hulk on October 24, 2008 at 03:49:41
Hey Rider, I was just on the board, nobody was talking with me...sigh. I'll check back later.
I agree with ted, after watching the behind the scenes section of the DVD, Ed seemed like he was acting like he was the director. When he and Louis were in the same room, Louis barely got to say anything. Now imagine Ed trying to deal with multiple characters other than his own, and he's not the writer nor the director. I'm pretty sure he thinks he's above that. Ed did a great job but I'm beginning to think that he's a slight control freak. If he can calm his ego and accept his role as an "actor" then it would be a beautiful thing.
