Back in August, Superhero Hype! received a report about "Prison Break" star Dominic Purcell being asked on a radio show about him taking on the Bruce Banner role in Marvel Studios' sequel The Incredible Hulk, to be directed by Louis ("Unleashed") Leterrier.
Since then, Purcell has been busy with the second season of "Prison Break," having shot the African action-thriller Primeval during the season break. When he took some time off to talk to ComingSoon.net about the movie, we asked him about whether he might do it.
"The whole thing was a rumor," Purcell admitted. "Marvel never approached me. It was just a rumor."
But would he want to do it if they did approach him?
"Depending, you know?" he replied. "Really, I loved the first 'Hulk.' Obviously, if they can come up with that kind of concept, I would have loved to have done it, but they didn't and again, it was just all rumor."
Instead, Purcell will be shooting a thriller with Joel Schumacher in Romania during his next break called "Town Creek," which he also told us about. "I'm playing a Gulf War veteran who gets captured from this family that's in a cult that has this connection to the Nazi regime. I play this guy who escapes and takes vengeance on them. It's a very intense movie. I'm looking forward to it."
Purcell's next movie Primeval opens on Friday, January 12. You can read a full interview with the "Prison Break" star on ComingSoon.net sometime next week.
