Source:ComingSoon.net
July 19, 2008

ComingSoon.net caught up with Hellboy II: The Golden Army star Ron Perlman after its #1 opening last week and asked about a possible third film. Here's a bit:

CS: Is there a third one that's in the offing? Has that been talked about?
Perlman: Well, I certainly think that it's not without the realm of possibility at this point. I can only imagine the discussions that are taking place in some other dark room right now.

Well that was a waste of two minutes!

Why can't big movies be releaed on the same date, world wide like TDK.... y don't even know how long I will have to wait for this one!

Ron Perlman is a class act. He's not the biggest name in Hollywood but he's not the smallest...no pun intended. I think everyone can appreciate what he has given to us movie lovers and that is pure entertainment. He is a well accomplished actor with much to show for it. Sons of Anarchy...holy mutherf-er, son of a gun, sell my soul to McCain(not really), sell my soul to bush(his soul is already taken by Lucifer so he can't take mine.haha) buy a soul on ebay for a "buy now" price of $2.99.

Sons of Anarchy equals another great series!

hopefully they do make a third one but it may be kind of weird i mean hopefully the story line isnt going to be mainly about him having two kids and trying to keep them safe from something because that would be retarded

^^ LOL! I'm a speed reader so I can't speak for others.

del Toro has a lot on his plate. He's got Dr.Strange and the 2 Hobbit movies. I hope Perlman has it in him for HB3 when del Toro is ready for it.

Ron's the man. Need to see him in more films. It'll be a long damn time before there's another Hellboy. Hopefully he'll get some more cool work though. The man has a strange charisma. The Mutant Chronicles looks interesting in a David Twohy kind of way. I'll probably pick it up on dvd. Sons of Anarchy looks pretty cool too. Hope it does well.

Del Toro's doin' Doc Strange? That should be pretty good.

Hey can somebody shed some light on what this second hobbit movie is about, I remember Del Toro and Jackson saying the first was gonna be the Hobbit in full. So I'm am wondering what the hell the second is. Please please please let it not be an original story set in middle earth

Posted by: Patman on July 19, 2008 at 04:09:17

Last I heard 'The Hobbit' will be told in two parts. Part 1 December 2011, and part two December 2012. That was the plan anyways. Things change.

I hope they make a 3rd one so it makes up for the wierd and boring storyline in the second.

Posted by: Rorschach on July 19, 2008 at 05:49:35

Perlman was great in City of Lost Children.

Posted by: Stonehenge on July 19, 2008 at 08:38:10

I just hope that it happens. The movie could very well be worth waiting for. In the meantime they could give us a few more animated Hellboy flicks.

Posted by: acslaterson on July 19, 2008 at 11:02:34

Which Dr. Strange, the British one or Marvel?

Posted by: jeffman on July 19, 2008 at 11:38:45

Hellboy 3 is at least 6 years away..Del toro can't fit one in before the hobbit and thats gonna keep him busy til 2012...it'll be 2014 probabaly before he's able to release a hellboy 3

Posted by: Aeghast on July 19, 2008 at 12:40:03

Hey, I have to wait 'til October 9th to see it! And that sucks

Posted by: Zinger2099 on July 19, 2008 at 13:55:29

acslaterson; you're thinking of Dr. Who I think, there is no british Dr. Strange.

There was definitely a setup in The Golden Army for a third movie. The fact that Hellboy is still destined to destroy the world even after the events of movie one. In contrast to what most people are saying I liked the original better than the squeal. Hellboy works better with the idea of Heaven and Hell and fighting Rasputin's black magic combined with German technology. I don't want to see Hellboy in a world of elves and goblins again.

Also there is currently no plans for a Dr. Strange movie. Sony did acquire the rights to Strange along with Spider-man (which have recently been renewed) and Daredevil(which went to 20th Century Fox and then back to Marvel). The rights to Dr. Strange have expired at Sony and Marvel Studios doesn't have it on its list of projects in development.

man... why did they put Hellboy in theatres a week before Batman? That was so stupid... I just checked boxofficemojo and Hellboy made 13 mill on it's first friday and this week on Friday it made just over 3 million. More than a 70% drop because chose such a poor release date.

Posted by: f12 on July 19, 2008 at 22:41:34

didn't like the sequel at all. The first one was good though. They should have stuck with that tone instead of going pans labyrinth on us.

Posted by: MEMO on July 19, 2008 at 22:50:09

Well, I hope more Hellboy movies but with Guillermo del Toro directing these.
Hope the box office get well to Hellboy

Posted by: Kryptonian on July 20, 2008 at 06:02:16

Perlman should be Doomsday in a Superman movie....

Posted by: ico on July 20, 2008 at 23:19:32

It will be a really long time before we see a third Hellboy movie because Del Toro has the Hobbit, Frankenstein and In the Mountains of Madness. So we probably wont see him for eight or more years.

Posted by: Hellboy on July 21, 2008 at 15:20:14

del toro is definitely worth waiting for though. i cant imagine anyone else tackling hellboy as well as del toro does.
