How is that? They have an amazing script, a director, a star, and a release date. Now they're getting ready for pre-production. They're still on schedule and all we've been seeing lately is news leading towards the release.

This movie is going to fail. I hope it falls apart.

@webhead
DOA for DC?? This movie is most likely going to be a decent movie (at least) Dude, it doesn't matter who came up with the character, Marvel or DC, it is what it is which is a comic book movie! This DC v Marvel crap is just ridiculous. I, for one, love both Marvel and DC, both have their own attributes that make them great. DC has Superman, GL, Batman, etc. and Marvel has Spidey, Avengers, Iron Man, Captain America, etc... starting to get the point? If I like a DC movie, I'm not a traitor to Marvel, and visa versa, it's all about opinions and preferences. There may be a rival btwn Marvel and DC, but only in the industry, for it to trickle down to fanbois is just plain immature and stupidity incarnate. Just enjoy the movies for what they are, COMIC BOOK MOVIES!!!!

oh and besides, all of the guys that are saying this movie will suck and/or fall apart will most likely be the first ones in line...

Being up here in Canada, I would love to see production move to Vancouver. Ryan Reynolds is from here and our local government gives wicked tax credits for movies. A-Team currently filming, both Fantastic Four films shot here, Watchmen shot here, etc.
Sadly, the same currency problems persist as the Canadian dollar has run up against the USD just like the Australian dollar has.
Still, hope to see the filming here. And I guarantee you this movie will get made. There are few DC characters that can translate to film as well as Batman and Superman. GL is one of them.

ahh, pulls out of australia. now all we need is for ryan reynolds to pull out of the movie and we'll have something. he's not hal jordan, sorry.

Ahhh.. Shhpit!.. here we go again DC/WB.. i still believe this movie is fgoing to be made based on the fact that evrything is in place from director to actor to script.. the only thing missing is location and thats pretty much just paperwork.. GL will be released in 2011 but will it be able to compete with capt america, spiderman4, thor, the avengers, and transformers 3.. Ahhh.. Shhpit!

OH NO!!! They moved production!!!...
wait... they didn't stop production.. they only moved!??! Oh.. well... aren't these just a bunch of cry-babies around here?
Posted by: maxpowers82 on October 16, 2009 at 13:13:09
I think this movie is still definitely going to happen, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it pushed back to 2012 which would really only help it. Right now, summer 2011 looks pretty crowded and GL could get lost amongst all the other movies coming out.

People around these parts don't have much common sense.
They hate, whine, moan and give "divine" theories on how they could make better movies.
Where are the "fanboy" scripts for this particular movie?
Posted by: Captainhulk on October 16, 2009 at 14:00:11
Things have went far for it not to get filmed and released. It'll get made.
Posted by: Steelsheen on October 16, 2009 at 14:36:17
there is irony in this....
currently, the 3rd Narnia movie-- Voyage of the Dawn Treader-- is shooting at the Gold Coast, who *moved* from the original Mexico facility. primary reason was "safety" issues, but its a given that economics played a big part for the move to Oz as well.
now a studio is using the exact same reason to move *out* of Oz. i'm starting to wonder if this economic mumbo jumbo the studios are spouting are even real anymore.

THEY SHOULD MAKE IT IN MICHIGAN!!!!!!!!
Michigan has imposed HUGE tax breaks and what not for people who shoot movies here. It's the cheapest place to shoot a film in the country!
Plus, we could use the money coming in. Our state is broke as hell.
