I really hope they don't screw this up man.
I love GL and i have faith in Reynolds as Hal.
I Read the first draft of the script a while back i know they have re-wrote it since, so i really don't know.
Needless to say though, the first draft was EPIC.

I absolutely agree with Shimna; I want Hugo Weaving to play Sinestro!
I suppose Nicolas Cage could do it as well now that he has backed out of Green Hornet. My first choice for Sinestro would be Hugo Weaving.
Does any anyone have any suggestions for Abin Sur and Kilowog?

NICOLAS CAGE AS SINESTRO!? hahahahahahahahaha wow...
i'd think they're at least trying to make this a good movie Joseph.
Nicolas Cage is good, but omg its 2009 not 1995
This aint Con-air fool.
Hugo Weavings a badass but hes kinda big, sinestro has always been a scrawny little douche

This is how I see they should have done it:
Chris O Donnel........Green Lantern/Hal Jordan
Jennifer Connelly.....Carol Farris
Eugene Levy/Anthony Hopkins/Hector Elizando...Dr. Hector Hammond
Sinestro....Jefferey Dean Morgan
Abin Sur....Michael Rosenbaum

and i only say chris o donnel from back in his batman forever days. he might be too old for it now. but a little makeup can do alot.

Ah, I was hoping they'd go with scrawny Sinestro. Well, will see.

I read on a site (honestly can't remember which one) that DC was putting a hold on most of their films and green lantern was included. I also heard Reynolds was looking at doing another film due to this halt. Anyone else heard this???? I would have gone with Cooper anyway. The only DC character that Reynolds would have fit is The Flash....perfect for it

It is interesting how every seems to only choose actors for these roles who have a history in comic book movies. Putting an old Robin as Green Lantern, Betty Ross as Carol Ferris, The Comedian as Sinestro, and Lex Luthor as Abin Sur. I say we give them a chance, people were in an uproar when RDJ was cast as Iron Man/Tony Stark, or Heath Ledger as Joker, and look how that turned out. I hope they cast these roles soon.

Definetly Hugo Weaving for Sinestro

Reynolds too old for Wally and was not interested in The Flash. It was just rumored back in 2006 by David Goyer's script interpretation. He's suited just fine as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern. I think Reynolds doesn't want to just run around like an idiot, but fly like a real powered superhero emulating Superman.

I have a great feeling about this. hopefully the super hero thing wont be done by then

John Goodman has long been rumored to play Killowog which I think is great casting. In the leaked version of the script Guy Gardener and even Alan Scott appear in the story so I wonder how they will go about casting them.

I think if The Green Lantern is sucessful in 2011, Warner Bros. should consider a Sinestro spin-off or something that keeps the Green Lantern popularity going. Most likely there will be a Green Lantern 2,3 and 4. DC comics has to cover Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner and John Steward.

Yeah. Hugo Weaving would be perfect as Sinestro. I just hope they don't screw this movie up.

Cor,
If you're gonna say something, please back it up and know what you're talking about. The Flash doesn't just run around, he has super speed: Image taking a punch from him. He'll kill you. He has super healing, an accelerated brain, run through matter by manipulating matter, time travel, create damn tornado with his fists, and is faster than Superman.
That being said, sometimes I love read the comments here. You have people trashing Ryan but wanting Chris O' Donnell for Hal. Haha.
