Justin Timberlake Screen Tests for Green Lantern?

Ain't It Cool News is reporting an unconfirmed rumor that Justin Timberlake is being considered for director Martin Campbell's Green Lantern:

Got an unconfirmed rumor that at Leavesden Studios - there's been some Warner Bros. screen testing on GREEN LANTERN and that Justin Timberlake was suiting up for the test. That does not mean that JT is going to be Hal Jordan, but just that he's one of the guys that they've been seriously considering for the role of our Emerald Knight.

We're pretty sure that the movie will be shot in Sydney, Australia, however, so we're puzzled as to why anything would be going on at Leavesden Studios in the UK.

Either way, Warner Bros. Pictures is planning a June 17, 2011 release for the film, so we should start hearing some official casting announcements soon.

I'm not even going to read anyone elses reply to this before I write this; Even for a rumor, this is a horrible, unbelievable idea. This would not happen. BUT, i'm betting some tools will say "you know I can see JT as Hal" or "It wouldn't be so bad". I'm about to scroll up now and see.

They should make the Green Latern African American like he was in the Justice League series. Whoever voiced him in it did a great job. However, they can not get Justin Timberlake to play this role. It will be so unbelieveable and he has HORRIBLE acting skills! They should get Gary Oldsman to play the part. I think he could actually pull it off.

I am sticking to my guns and saying that Bradley Cooper (will Tippin from Alias) is perfect for this role. It has to be him.

Also, (just to piss people off) I want to say that this movie will not be better than the Dark Knight.

Lastly, F-ck Micheal Jackson! can america go back to having real news!!

well lets be honest here. stop the panic button. this is just like the "cher as catwoman" rumors. just to get a rise out of fans.

1, its the green lantern. and as much as us comic nerds know him and his story, the common public does not. thus,of course it won't be bigger than dark knight.

2,while jt does actually have the face for hal jordan, of course he is completely not the right choice for this role. and neither is ryan phillipe for that matter. we are a long way from his acting prime.

3,bradley cooper isn't a bad choice,physically. but, i'm not sure he would even be interested in investing the time into becoming a "sub-franchise" character.

4,my opinion is to go the route of thor and look for weel trained actors who do not necessarily have the fame yet.
