Is Bradley Cooper the Green Lantern?
May 6, 2009
Hitfix is reporting the rumor that The Hangover star Bradley Cooper (Wedding Crashers, "Alias") is a frontrunner to play the title role in director Martin Campbell's Green Lantern. No deal has been signed yet, however.
The site says the Warner Bros. Pictures comic book adaptation starts shooting later this summer for a December 17, 2010 release.
The "Green Lantern" was created in 1940 by writer Bill Finger and artist Martin Nodell. Hal Jordan, introduced in 1959, is a second-generation test pilot, an ordinary man who was given the power ring and battery (lantern) by a dying alien named Abin Sur. When Abin Sur's spaceship crashed on Earth, the alien used his ring to seek out an individual to take his place as Green Lantern: someone who was "utterly honest and born without fear."

Hmmm....Never know. It could always be worse. Honestly though i think that they should have kept Common as the Green Lantern. But oh well, if he gets the role best of luck to him.

Going with an unknown can be hit or miss. Could be good could be bad.
Too early to know right now.

I think Chris Pine has a better suit to the role, but sum said that Heath Ledger wouldn't suit the joker, who knows?

Alrighty, I'll keep an open mind.
Just wish we could get some freaking confirmation already, all this speculation when filming is pretty close is starting to get old -_-'

Oh no, now come on! I like him as much as the next guy, but he's not Hal Jordan!
You know, to get Hal Jordan right, you need a guy that...freakin' looks like him! Duh!

I say Ben Browder, David Boreanaz, or Nathan Fillion. Those are my picks for G.L., What do you guys think?
Thinking of you, R.R.
P.S. Bradley Coopers to short.

To allknowing:
Black? As in Jack? Jack Black? OK!
Posted by: RIKSHAW Renegade on May 6, 2009 at 02:32:39
Sorry allknowing but they have to do Hal Jorden first, then Kyle Rayner and Guy Gardner. Then they can use Jon Stewert for the J.L.A. movies. And thats the way the cookie crumbles.
Your Devoted Alley Cat, R.R.
P.S. Jon Stewert ROCKS!!!

Ashton Kutcher! Yeah! Let the Hate Posts pile up now!

Was gonna say Ben Browder and Fillion are a bti on the old side, but Downey jr. managed to pull off tony stark. Thing is I think Hal needs to be a little on the younger side. And cooper is not too short! he's freakin' 6'1! he probablty looks short compared to Vince Vaughn (who is 6'5)

This is actually not bad casting. Considering we could of gotten a Seth Rogen for this, or Jack Black, I'm pretty satisfied with a lesser known actor who has some talent.

Better than some of the other names being thrown out there.

I think he's a great choice for Lantern!!
Get it rolling Warner!

I think Will Tippin is going to kick ass as the Green Lantern.
Its a comic book movie so its guaranteed to make some money.
And no matter how bad it is, it won't even come close to galactic jizz-guzzler which was "Watchmen".

I actually think he'd be better for Captain America.

really out of left field, but i can see it. gotta wait and see though. he's definately got the look, but i am used to seeing him in comedies. gonna be interesting seeing him in a more serious/action role
