The Mt Druitt Standard reports that New South Wales premier Nathan Rees has confirmed that Warner Bros. Pictures will shoot Green Lantern at Fox Studios Australia in Sydney later this year (previous reports said in September). GoldenEye, The Legend of Zorro and Casino Royale helmer Martin Campbell will direct. Here's a clip:

Premier Nathan Rees said filming would take place at Fox Studios with a substantial investment in digital effects work creating hundreds of jobs.

"The production is expected to employ 500 people at any given time, including 100 performers, 200 crew and thousands of extras," he said.

Why is this news? Oh and theMan all DC films are Warner brothers its just shooting at fox studios.

Posted by: 555 on April 16, 2009 at 12:04:55

Warner Brothers own DC comics dont they?

Corey Sevier would make either good Hal Jordan or Superman.

Posted by: Spiderbat on April 16, 2009 at 12:05:41

@ theMan

Warner Brother is still doing the film! They're just film at Fox Studios.

If this director can do for GL what he did for Bond in Casino... this movie will be amazing!

Posted by: wolvie on April 16, 2009 at 12:06:50

It will be cool to see the GL on the big screen. Hopefully, it is done well.

Superman Returns was shot at FOX studios and I think the cancelled Justice League movie was as well.

Posted by: Stewiestew on April 16, 2009 at 12:08:32

I hope they bring in the Black GL John Stewart. I would like to see Idris Elba as John Stewart he also would have been a great War Machine.

COREY SEVIER AS GREEN LANTERN

Posted by: Oi on April 16, 2009 at 12:12:01

people need to read the article, or do some research. Fox is NOT INVOLVED. Warner Bros is just FILMING at their studio in Australia.

To WBDC:
Please don't make this a three hour snoozer like Watchmen.

Posted by: Vance Astro on April 16, 2009 at 12:36:24

Please do!! IT should be at least two and a half hours.
and i thought Watchmen couldve been longer.

Chris Pine for Hal Jordan... if not, sign up Jim Caviezel.. But I want Hugo Weaving as Sinestro.

Posted by: BEN HUR on April 16, 2009 at 12:54:40

THIS IS GONNA BE AWESOME! EVERYTHING IS COMING TOGETHER FOR MY FAVE CHARACTER! DIRECTOR COULDN'T BE BETTER! ALL WE NEED NOW IS THE PERFECT HJ! READ YESTERDAY THAT BRIAN AUSTIN GREEN IS THROWINGHIMSELF INTO THE MIX, I LIKE CHRIS PINE BETTER THAN THAT, BUT I STILL THINK THAT WE COULD DO BETTER THAN BOTH!
