Why?

Why make this movie?

Why make this movie when they know full well that the original fanbase is either living in a retirement home or dead? Making movies out of pulp heroes from the time of FDR is just, well, a little too late. I mean, "The Shadow" with Alec Baldwin, or Billy Zane's "The Phantom" didn't do that well either. Both were good movies, but no one remembered the characters. Sad.

I don't see whats to be upset about here. They look pretty much like the TV show, which is much better than I had expected when I first heard that Seth Rogen was playing the title character.

As for "The Shadow" and "The Phantom"... those movies weren't that great. They were just OK, which is what their box offices reflected.

Yikes, that is aaaawful! :(

Just what the world needs; a fat lame-o "pretending" to be a hero! :P

Pass.

I am realy getting excited about this film. I like what I am seeing from Rogen and Chou.

So I just watched Pineapple Express again last night.
Y'know, there is a lot of action in that film and Rogan does a pretty decent job with it.
So, If your a fat ass and know that you cannot do anything remotely physical, just shut the ***k up and don't try to pass off your limitations as a reason someone else should not attempt something.

Rogan will be fine.
Besides, Green Hornet is not A Superhero like the Batman. He falls more into the Shadow/Sherlock Holmes camp.

Why is a character from the Pink Panther series in a 'hero' movie?
After all, whats so heroic about Inspector Clousuea's Korean man servant?

Posted by: thekid on October 2, 2009 at 10:30:30

seth actually looks pretty good in the pics. im starting to get more curious about this movie.

I could kick this guy's ass with a hang over and 2 hours sleep.

Wait a minute...Pulp heroes still have a following. Doc Savage & The Shadow are still cool and still have an audience. If done correctly by Sam Rami they could be great. Ron Ely was terrible, Alec Baldwin was not bad, Billy Zane was not bad either. I look forward to more pulp heroes movies.

Bilbo Baggins,
When Blake Edwards decided to give Inspector Clousuea a butler, he thought it would be funny for him to have an Asian who knew martial arts. That way Clousuea could order him to surprise attack him so the Inspector could keep his martial arts reflexes razor sharp. Edwards gave the manservant the name "Kato" as homage to the Green Hornet. In the radio and movie serials, Kato posed as Brit Reid's butler when the two of them weren't battling crime. BTW, in the '60s tv show, Kato was played by some guy named Bruce Lee. Ever hear of him? Probably not.

To all the people who are STILL *****ing and moaning about this movie. Why do you even click the links to these articles if you care so little about the film?

Anywho, once again Seth Rogen definitely looks like hes lost a lot of weight. I can barely even recognize him!

Also, for anyone that thinks that he can't kick ass..you should check out Observe and Report. He got downright violent and brutal in that movie!

As one of the original fan base I am not retired or dead. I am hopping it will be good. I am not fan of Rogen, I found Pineapple express boring and only watch the first 10 minutes or so of it. But I am will to keep an open mind.

thats looks cool, the gas gun looks different but i like it. looks less like a pistol (like in the original shows) and more like a gas gun which is cool. little changes like that i dig. unlike complete **** ups a'la wolverine origins

Posted by: Dizz on October 3, 2009 at 23:33:42

Plz take Cameron Diaz out and then it might be a movie worth watching. She doesnt play anything but a stupid giggliing bottle blonde. how insulting.

Posted by: Anna on October 5, 2009 at 08:04:14

I am also a fan of the original Green Hornet. I loved bruce Lee. However, I am not a huge Seth Rogen fan, I didn't like Pineapple Express and I found Observe and Repodt Degrading to most people. I am Bipolar myself. The movie was insulting. I truly don't expect much from him. I feel that maybe he should have hired a better actor to play the Green Hornet or at least lifted some weights and beefed up some. Losing some weight is just part of it. He still looks flabby in areas. The original Green Hornet was a very good looking man- Seth Rogen is not even close. Actually I think Cameron Diaz is beginning to look very old, she just hasn't taken care of herself. They couldn't find a nicer looking woman to play her part? My mother is 63 and gorgeous-she even looks better than Diaz.

OK people I know its a free country and all, but why even click on the link if you have no interest? So you can bash something you have never seen. Some of ya'll out there need to get a life and more importantly a GF. or BF if thats your thing (no judgement). All of you people up here bashing seth rogan for this or that are obviously just jealous that he has already made more money than you ever will in your life, and been with more smoking hot girls than you can even think about without messing up your batman underwear.

I still remember the Darkman Trilogy directed by Sam Raimi. The best film trilogy ever that emulated Batman. Darkman was about a prostetic skin scientist and professor named Payton Weslake who gets horribly disfigured from group of thugs. Their leader was a King Pin type tycoon named Robert G. Durant. Payton tries to progress his skin formula to a permanent degree, but the prostetic skin only lasts 99.99 minutes and it's,"unstable". It's only temporary until he find the the missing chemical component that will restore his appearance back to normal. Now as Darkman he fights crime and bad guys till a cure can be discovered. The third Darkman,"Die Darkman Die" was the best. Anyone remember Darkman?
