Furlong Has a Role in Green Hornet?
September 30, 2009
Skipping over all the personal stuff in this article at People, you'll come across the following:
"He has gotten really upset – anybody would," the friend says of Furlong, who is slated to start production on The Green Hornet this weekend. "We're trying to get him back to a place where he's calming down and talking to everybody."
That's the first time we've heard of the Terminator 2: Judgment Day star having a role in The Green Hornet, opening in theaters on December 17, 2010. If confirmed, he's joining Seth Rogen, Cameron Diaz, Jay Chou, Edward James Olmos, David Harbour, Tom Wilkinson and Christoph Waltz in the Michel Gondry-directed comic book adaptation.

Like they'll hire somebody with a raging drug addiction and emotional problems. Unless he's playing a drug addict?

Like him in American History X, but not much else. He's not a great actor and is prone to flying off the handle. Not sure I'd waste the effort on him for a summer blockbuster.....er.....um..... The Green Hornet.

greyskull prime, lets not forget nolan hired ledger for TDK even though he was a pill popping junkie and he turned out to be a cool joker

not a big fan of Furlong, especially after his version of The Crow. overall, still not to sure about this movie altogether. I know my dad loved it as a kid, so i guess the older generation who watched this as kids will like it.....maybe.

The best movie Edward Furlong starred in was Terminator 2:Judgement Day.American History X was the second best movie Furlong starred in but as a poster from Comic Book Movie pointed out that wasn`t because of Furlong, that was because of Edward Norton.Furlong could`ve been a huge actor if he had parlayed his exposure from T2 the correct way and stayed on the up-and up.Furlong looks like a zombie now and it`s a understatement to say that the man`s got issues. The Crow:Wicked Prayer is one of the worst movies ever made and it had about as much life in it as a corpse.Wicked Prayer was straight-to dvd excrement.
Yeah`s post is right to remind Greyskull Prime that Christopher Nolan hired Heath Ledger for The Dark Knight and Ledger was a pill popping junkie and he turned out to be a cool Joker(I would argue the best Joker to date) but than look how Heath turned out.A talented actor was gone far too soon.Though Furlong was never as talented as Ledger,at the rate Furlong`s been going he could end up the same way. It`s sad how the kid from T2 turned out.Furlong doesn`t need a role in The Green Hornet,Furlong should do the oposite of Amy Winehouse`s song ''Rehab'' and say ''Yes,yes, yes to Rehab''.The Green Hornet doesn`t need someone as self-destructive as Edward Furlong as part of the cast even if it`s in a minor role.Furlong needs to get cleaned up first, than worry about movies.

Heath Ledger, IN MY OPINION (because you don't put any statement in unless you can prove it) wasn't an addict. He just took the wrong pills.
BUT THAT'S MY OPINION !!! NOBODY IN THIS THREAD KNOWS S-H-I-T ABOUT LEDGER'S DEATH CIRCUMSTANCES. EITHER YOU STOP POSTING CRAP LIKE THIS, EITHER YOU DON'T POST ANYTHING, EITHER YOU POST CONSTRUCTIVE COMMENTS FOR THE SAKE OF PEOPLE WHO WANT TO KNOW OPINIONS ABOUT FURLONG BEING IN THE GREEN HORNET !
I'd say it's a great choice. He is not the most talented actor, but maybe it would be nice for him to finally do something good since American history x. Maybe the fact that nobody called him except for crap movies after AHX just helped him doing more drugs... Anyway, welcome back, Mr Furlong.

Glad to have Edward Furlong Back. I haven't watched any of his stuff since The Crow Wicked Prayer. Good movie by the way. Also liked him in Terminator 2 and Brain Scan

Can't list Furlong's best movies without 'Animal Factory'

I don't think there is anyway that Edward Furlong can ruin this movie. The job is done for him. This movie will make about as much as The Shadow starring Alec Baldwin or Billy Zain's The Phantom.

Green Hornet will be the new TDK. Anyone who disagrees can go watch Dragonball Evolution.

I don`t know who Friendly Neighborhood`s post was meant for but speaking for myself,I`ve never once said that I thought Heath Ledger was a addict because I don`t know.He might have been.He might not have been.I wasn`t there. Many people and publications have made the claim that Ledger was a addict, but the fact of the matter is that they don`t know either.Only the people who knew Ledger and were close to Ledger could know this for certain. All I or any of us can go off of is what we`ve heard-and then come to our own conclusions. But whether Ledger was a addict or not, what is true is that Heath Ledger`s life came to a tragic end(it`s scary to think that Ledger wasn`t even 30 when he died). And what`s happening to Edward Furlong now is sad.
We`re all entitled to our own opinions but we`re not entitled to our own facts.Furlong`s problems are facts. His run-ins with the law have been documented.People close to him have talked about the escalation of his drug use and how Furlong`s suicidal and his life is a mess.
I think it`s a totally constructive comment for someone to say that they think if Furlong has this many issues the last thing he needs to worry about is being in a movie that may or may not be a summer blockbuster. The Green Hornet could play it straight as a Superhero movie but with Seth Rogen in the lead, the movie might end up going the camped-up comedy with action-route like Ben Stiller`s remake of Starsky and Hutch(and there`s a difference between that and a straight''action comedy'' or ''action movie'').In regards to Ultragoo`s post, though in the following years since their release they`ve gained something of a cult following,Alec Baldwin`s The Shadow and Billy Zane`s The Phantom were commercial failures and two of the worst Superhero movies ever made(Baldwin and Zane looked ridiculous in their lead roles of The Shadow and The Phantom). The Shadow and The Phantom are examples of what happens when people don`t get Superheroes and don`t undertsand and respect Comic books and still figure they can make movies about Superheroes and make money.
I don`t have a crystal ball,so I don`t know if The Green Hornet will join the undesirable ranks of The Shadow and The Phantom and while I can`t say for sure,I think it`s doubtful that The Green Hornet will be the next The Dark Knight.I don`t know if The Green Hornet will be another Superhero movie added to Entertainment Weekly`s list of The Worst Comic Book Movies but we shall see.We will also see if The Green Hornet will be a success at the box office next year.
But if Edward Furlong has a role in The Green Hornet when he clearly has what some people would call more pressing concerns-more power to him.

And don't forget, Edward Furlong was also in the KISS film, Detroit Rock City. How could you have forgotten THAT gem? ;)

Pet Sematary 2 is classic Furlong. His zombie portrayal was a little too good.
The way the article is worded, it may be that the friend discussing Ed is in The Green Hornet, not Ed himself.

TO YEAH: Heath never did drugs other than pot.Do you not understand english? Autopsy results:"No medications were taken in excess and no illegal substances or alcohol found in blood or tissue" BTW Liver tissue stores drug residue for years. He was dealing with very bad insomnia, anxiety, back pain and a bad chest cold.He was also doing yoga, massage and relaxation to help himself, the pills were a last desperate resort. It was an accident not drug abuse. It happens to thousands of people every year. I met Heath in 2004 when I worked on a movie set. He kept in touch after that. Every time he was coming to my end of Canada he would ring me up. I talked to him about a month before he died and he was the same old clear headed, beautiful, kind, giving man that he always was. Does it make you feel like a big important person to tear down people you have never met and did not know? I hope so, because then at least someone is getting something out of this miserable post. RIP Heath, my friend.

Hey Eddie's back... a nobody actor with next to no talent, who was given the chance of a lifetime with Arnie and James and blew the whole thing out his ass. Yah, he deserves it. I hear he got the role because Corey Haim was busy. I don't expect him to last Furlong
