Christoph Waltz to Play Green Hornet Villain!
Source:Deadline Hollywood
September 14, 2009

Christoph Waltz, who stole the show in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds, has been cast as the villain in Columbia Pictures' The Green Hornet! Deadline Hollywood reports:

I'm told that ICM's actor Christoph Waltz who won Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival for playing a Nazi in Inglourious Basterds (and is a shoo-in for an Oscar nomination) has now been cast as villain Chudnofsky in Sony's The Green Hornet opposite Seth Rogen and Cameron Diaz.

The Michel Gondry-directed comic book adaptation is scheduled for a December 17 release.

they still making this crap?

He really knocked it out of the park in Inglourious Basterds. Someone that good working with Michel Gondry should really convince some of the people slagging this off to give it a chance. It won't though.

The Dang Man:
"Isn't that the one reason Wild Wild West failed?"

No the reason Wild Wild West failed was because Jim West was portrayed by Will Smith. The last time i checked, Jim West was a white man! (and not always trying to joke about everything).

Yes! He was great in basterds... Men In Black was an awesome action comedy, who thinks of Wild Wild West?

Is this the role that Cage passed on?

Also, the role of Kato is too small for Li or Chan. And whoever posted that Jet Li is a greater martial artist than Bruce was has his head so far up his ass he's wearing his rectum as a collar.

I know that most of the people on here are not, but I am going to give this movie a chance if the trailer is good.

Is the Green Hornet that great, I mean...really? I only know the name because it's mentionned in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story.

Air Force One and The Dang Man are pathetic, anyone fanboy who goes around saying "Durr this should be like teh DARK KNIGHT!" is sad and pathetic, please, sad nerds did that when the Batman Begins came out. They would say "DURRR Speed Racer has to be dark like Batman Begins if Hollywood is smart!" or ADUUURRRR! Transformers needs to be dark like Batman Begins! I should direct! then it'd be like Batman Begins! :D who's with me! Durrr!" lol patheitc.

A very talented actor, Good pick up.

I'll take a shot at playing Kato.

WOW! I loved Christoph Waltz's role in Inglourious Bastards! I can't wait for his second villain role in this film!

This is the best news I have heard about this movie. Really, Christoph was truly awesome in IB, he should be Oscar-nominated and received.

And Rogen is not without some talent, I will not fully support the casting, but I will give him a chance once performance footage is leaked.

Posted by: YourMom on September 14, 2009 at 18:47:50

It's a Bingo!

Posted by: BE OFFENDED on September 14, 2009 at 21:07:03

... now if they could only get rid of Rogen. NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! It is stil going to suck.

Posted by: puggdogg on September 14, 2009 at 22:24:20

I'll definitely be giving this movie a chance. Why you may ask? Well because I'm not a stuck up nerd.

Even Chuck Norris admitted as much that Bruce was way ahead of everyone else. Jet is good but Bruce is GGGGRRRREEEEAAAAAATTTTT!

replacing nick cage with him is probably the best thing thats happened to this movie since it was first announced.

At first glance I thought he was casted as the villain in Green Lantern. I said to myself, "it's awesome", but I then I realized it is the Green Hornet movie he is going to be in. If he could steal scenes from Brad Pitt, how much can Seth Rogen and Cameron Diaz do? I hope they pay Christoph Waltz enough, because it's him who's gonna bring up this movie.

Posted by: Calcifer on September 15, 2009 at 04:10:58

Oh wow!

He was amazing in Basterds, and I can't wait to see him as the villain in this.

Unlike a lot of people, I'm still looking forward to this movie. I love Gondry, Rogen, etc. And this just tops it off.

I'm rooting for you guys

He just took a career back step.

Posted by: Steve the Dude on September 15, 2009 at 12:22:47

This is more crap to help you for get how miscast Seth Rogen is. So Christoph Waltz will be playing the villain in this. So what?

Seth Rogen is still TOTALLY MISCAST as the Green Hornet! Seth Rogen needs to be replaced to make this crap-fest fly. NOTHING else can save this.

TRON LEGACY WILL DESTROY THIS CRAP-FEST!!!

Posted by: frankiebigs78 on September 15, 2009 at 15:15:09

So to sum up every comment made in this post and past and future posts "Seth Rogen is so fat and full of de suck and lame and so is Judd Apatow that dis movie will be like de worst movie ever in de history of de world."

Jesus H. Christ. God forbid an actor step out of his usual relm of movies and do a role that actually requires skill. The next time any hater wants to come on here and say the same **** they always do, just wait a second because by then the thought will be gone and you can go back to sucking Christopher Nolen's ****.

Well there is yet another career destined to be ruined by this film. It's gonna bomb. Not because the source material is bad. Not because the actors are talentless, but because they are improperly cast. Rogen is the poorest possible choice in all of Hollywood for Britt Reid and the Green Hornet. He simply doesn't fit the bill, and that creepy looking dude they scraped up to play Kato is even worse. On top of all that we have rumors of a comedic interpretation? Ridiculous. They are just going to ruin a classic character. Plus they are shooting in L.A. This is a joke. How about someplace with a bit cooler climate so the trilby, gloves and overcoat don't appear ridiculously out of place? Hello... Detroit, Chicago? Why would anyone in their right mind trust a sacred IP like this to a bunch of low brow, basement budget rejects like Rogen and his pals? I refuse to even rent this turd, it's going to be a complete mockery of one of the few things that bridged the gap between me, my Dad and Grandpa.

Holy crap! They can't possibly be thinking of having a major no talent like Seth Rogan playing scenes with this guy?!
