I really want to like this movie but I'm not going to. I'm going in this movie with low expections so when I leave the theater, I won't be disappointed. Deep down I really hope I like it.

OHHHH WHO CARRREES! Please don't watch this movie! We need to teach paramount that they can't just make a cookie cutter cartoon movie!!
Why not? 20th Century Fox always does just that (I'm looking at you, X-Men series). Even though this movie looks bad (and I mean bad as in "if I ever happen to see this movie, I'll most likely end up with an astigmatism" bad), Hollywood will continue to churn out "cookie cutter movies" from the mill as long as they have an audience stupid enough to actually spend money on them. And that's the sad, sad truth.

Man up Roger. Anything worth doing is worth doing all the way. You need to get to the theater early and sit proudly like a true Joe fan. You get out of something what you put into it. Walk in with a positive attitude and you may be well pleased,I know I am. To quote Darth Sidious "I've been waiting on this for a long time."

There's only two ways out of my command: On your feet like a man or in a ditty bag, an itty, bitty ditty bag.

Cool clip. :D

I think it's safe to say from that clip this is going to be really targeting kids compared to Transformers (which I'm still confused as to what audience it was trying to target). I can go into a movie and accept humor targeted at a younger audience if I know that's the goal.

@Pete
You have a point. Though it is from kids to adults but due to the action and possibly language or something, its gonna be PG-13.

That was funny. They really create a mess over there. Wish this happened in Manhattan instead.

When Storm Shadow said, "He never gives up." I was expecting him to cheesily finish with, "He'll stay til the fights won."

Actually I'm not sure what Kind of audience they're trying to target! I mean really there was no one else they could find but Marlon Wayans. I mean he is funny, in a White Chicks kind of way, But I definitely think he is going to be the biggest miscast!

"Why the hell do they have a molded mouth on Snake Eyes??? "
Because they're idiots. There is no other answer. They ruined everything cool about G.I. Joe visually. No unique, colourful Joe outfits. Instead we get everyone wearing generic, black body armour. Yeah, like THAT hasn't been done before. They all carry regular military issue guns, too. BORING! And Cobra Commander looks stupid as Hell and is a minor character. The Baroness is American and doesn't have the black-rimmed glasses. Destro hardly wears the mask at all. This movie looks more like Street Fighter than G.I. Joe. If you don't believe me, just look at Dennis Quaid's character. Brutal. And don't even get me started on the two lead actors, Channing Tatum and Marlon 'Little Man White Chicks' Wayans and their damn accelerator suits. GAWD! Stephen Sommers is the new George Lucas. And that is about the worst insult I can think of. I also hate to say it, but Michael Bay should have done this. He makes military porn and this would have been so much better in his hands than Transformers. Sure he would have made this 3 hours, with 2 entire storylines that should have ended up on the editing room floor, but the man understands guns, explosions and action. He gave the military about 2 hours of screentime in Transformers 2, as well. They were the main guys fighting the Decepticons, not the Autobots. There were only 4 Autobots that even did anything; the racist Twins, Optimus and Ironhide. I don't even remember seeing that silver Corvette in robot form and I sure as Hell didn't hear it talk. What a waste that movie was!

I just watched that again and holy crap are those effects bad. At the 50 second mark, the fireball goes off before the flipping vehicle even lands there. Brutal! And that molded mouth on Snake Eyes looks mother****ing retarded! And why doesn't Storm Shadow have an accent? Or the Baroness for that matter? Doesn't make any sense to call yourself a Baroness if you're American, does it? And this just looks so damn plain and generic. Nothing original or unique about any of the Joes at all. BRUTAL!!!!!!!!

@ J. Jonah Hexas Texas - GAWD! You are the new M. Bison. And that is about the worst insult I can think of! And why doesn't...and this just looks...and don't even get me started...seriously, SHUT UP! You don't like the looks of the movie, all 3 minutes of it that you've seen in various clips thus far - we get it! Please, DO NOT spend your money on this film so you will not feel the need to vomit all over the message board afterwards. Really.

most of you complain about every movie....what makes it sick is if you dont like the movie (and before it has even come out, lol), why are you even on here in the first place. I'm gonna go to this movie open minded. My girl and I can't wait.

snake eyes mouth? my boy marlon wayans cast?! grow UP! now haters or you will never NEVER get laid!

As i think, still GIJoe isn't about a team of guys wearing an uniform like Halo but a team of different kind of soldiers with diferent kind of uniforms and weapons.
Nice scene like the one of SpiderMan 2 when he passes jumping through the bridge. Through the bridge on SM2 and through a train on G.I.Joe. Same concept.
The only character i think will worth it is Ray Park's one. Love the costume and the attitude.

And shortyawake if you're taking your girl to this movie she better think on another guy to date eh eh

snakes eyes molded mouth = batman nipples, LMFAO...thank god for Ray Parker!
Posted by: Pete on July 21, 2009 at 08:45:50
At least they used the second rendition of Snake Eyes to base the appearance of the character on and not the first one.
Posted by: eejo on July 21, 2009 at 08:48:39
G.I.JOKE!!! Duke is supposed to be a natural born leader, this guy just doesn't cut it. And it's obvious Wayans is there for comic relief. That mouth on Snake Eyes is the dumbest thing next to the Bat nipples. Don't even get me started on that thing they call Cobra Commander! Some things just don't need to be changed.

I cannot believe how upset people are getting about this summer popcorn flick.
that is what it is and has represented itself as since the first trailer.
The film is based on the eighties 3 1/2 inch toyline. Along with a cartoon that had some of the most groan inducing cheesy -pun filled dialogue that you can imagine along with a cast that looked like rejects from a Village people tryout.
The comics are much better than the cartoon ever was.
Don't believe me, Go try and rewatch the cartoon series again.
This film is geared towards 8-12 year olds. Just like the cartoon was.
It looks like big dumb fun.
