ComingSoon.net/Superhero Hype! has your exclusive first look at the new poster for G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, hitting theaters on August 7. Directed by Stephen Sommers, the action-adventure stars Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Christopher Eccleston, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Byung Hun Lee, Sienna Miller, Rachel Nichols, Ray Park, Said Taghmaoui, Channing Tatum, Marlon Wayans and Dennis Quaid.

From the Egyptian desert to deep below the polar ice caps, the elite G.I. JOE team uses the latest in next-generation spy and military equipment to fight the corrupt arms dealer Destro and the growing threat of the mysterious Cobra organization to prevent them from plunging the world into chaos.

Looks like it's going to be a fast pace action movie. The actress playing Scarlett is hott, almost worth the price of admission just to see her strutting her stuff in that suit.

The clip they released of this nearly burnt my eyes out, it was horrible to watch.

Yeah people can complain about Transformers being a 2.5 hour toy commercial, but remember, it's actually good. Pirates, in total, was a 8.5 hour commercial for the ride and this is blatant advertising for an advertisement advertising toys. I thought it might be fun with Sommers at the helm but I seriously don't like what I've seen so far - pure self-indulgent American trash - it really makes Team America ring true.

Channing Tatum sucks by the way, but Gordon-Levitt looks cool in the poster, it looks like him anyway.

I wished to vent, but I'm an 18 y/o male and clearly not the target demographic for this film which looks like a full-on kids film with no redeeming qualities for adults, unlike Transformers which isn't a kids movie per se but kids can enjoy it, although it's made for young adults (20s) to parents.

Sorry this just looks like poo, with the exception of Gordon-Levitt.

That is not Joseph Gordon Levitt. That is a character called The Doctor, The guy to the left of the doctor is also not destro, but a cobra trooper. Cobra Commander's look is not likely to be revealed in any posters, but there are spy shots of action figures from the movie line on the net that give you a good look, as for destro, his mask is very ancient anglo-celtic warrior looking, rusty, craggy.

Batman, X-Men, now GI-Joe, all blacks like the new zealand rugby team, it became a lazy way to translate costumes from comics (or toys) to movies, evereybody black just black.

Actually, that is Levitt. The Doctor is a pseudonym for the Commander as it says on his identification card for the toy.

all you who are complaining about this movie need to be quite!!! This site is filled with nothing but hate for EVERY movie that comes out, then after it comes out everyone sings a different tune. GI JOE IS A TOY BASED MOVIE!!! its not a dark knight or evenironman but i think itll b good and i cant wait 2 c it

This movie is a con. They want you to think that people who cared spent tons of time and money making something awesome, when in fact, a bunch of people who could care less spent about 20 bucks all together.

Basically, it's "Street Fighter: the movie: the sequel."

It will be a Gong Show of horror. I sort of can't wait, just to see how low they can go.
