First 2 Photos of G.I. Joe's Snake Eyes!

Paramount Pictures has released the first two photos of Ray Park as Snake Eyes in the Stephen Sommers-directed G.I. Joe, coming to theaters on August 7, 2009.

"He's the world's greatest ninja, but he's also next-generation. He's not afraid to use a sword one second, and a split-second later he's pulling out his Glock," Sommers told USA Today. "His chief nemesis is arguably the world's other great ninja, Storm Shadow. The two grew up together, were blood brothers and now are mortal enemies."

Sommers stressed that the movie is an origins story, so his challenge is to explain why the bad guy wears a metal mask, why Snake Eyes doesn't talk and other strange things kids took for granted. "For people who know nothing about it, it'll make sense," Sommers said. "And to people who love this stuff, it'll show where they all came from."

Adapted by Stuart Beattie, the action-adventure also stars Dennis Quaid, Channing Tatum, Sienna Miller, Rachel Nichols, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Said Taghmaoui, Marlon Wayans, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Arnold Vosloo and Christopher Eccleston.

1st pic was there and now it's gone?

Bad Ass! Had my doubt about this after that Val Helsing slag, but this looks good. Hopefully the other more colorful looking colors (i.e. Cobra Commander, Destro, Storm Shadow, etc) look equally impressive.

Wow, I was skeptical about what look they would be going for with these movies, especially with a very young and broad cast. But now seeing Ray Park in a role that seems meant for the guy, Im convinced this movie has potential to be a real blockbuster.

Oh My God! It's exactly the direction they need to go. If they did this good with him i can not wait to see all the others.

Has Timber been confirmed?

Posted by: Wes on March 21, 2008 at 00:46:08

Posted by: Batman on March 21, 2008 at 00:47:45

wow, Agent Graves.... you sure know how to keep it positive. its pretty cool. it looks nothing like Power Rangers so shut the *** up

In****ingcredible!!! I had to peep it for a few, but now I'm soakin' it in and that **** is off the hook. Thats Snake-eyes in all his splendor. Stephen is on the right track as far as Snake-eyes' look. Just like ImmrtlofDrknss said, hopefully the other more colorful looking characters(i.e. Cobra Commander, Destro, Storm Shadow, etc) look equally impressive. I still got a few hang-ups about this film, and I'm a rabid-loyal G.I.Joe head, but that shot of home-skillet puts some of those bad vibes to bed, thats my word. Good job "Hollywood Monkeys". Keep the bigwigs on a leash and listen to the fans. Yo Joe!

TO BATMAN...

Man how do we even know that it's real with photo-shop out there and all it could be a damn action-figure and maniped to look good...

I say Thumbs down 'till i see some footage.

So 'til then It looks like Im going to be sitting out this power rangers outing

I can't wait until the movie, I've like G.I. Joe since I was a kid. But I did meet Ray Park at a convention and he is kind of a dork. Maybe it's a good thing he has no lines.

Looks great! and Ray Park has the moves, I'll see it!

Posted by: Johny B on March 21, 2008 at 01:00:33

the pics they have been showing look pretty cool. GI JOE has always been one of my favorite shows and toys. Really looking forward to this movie

Posted by: Bloodsword6 on March 21, 2008 at 01:01:41

I could do without the fake muscles on the outfit. Other than that its great.

Posted by: Tracker on March 21, 2008 at 01:03:26

Looks great!

SHUHH-WIIIINNNGGG!!!

Okay, they got Snake Eyes right. If the Black Power Ranger looks anything like the above picture, then consider me the Power Rangers biggest fan.

Anyway, at this point, screwing up Storm Shadow would be a major fumble. So I think we can expect to be floored when that picture gets released. Now, if they nail Destro and Zartan this movie will be a definite lock.

Oh my god, please get Zartan right. He was my favorite. I can't wait for that reveal.

Yo Joe.

OH MY GOD... that looks friggin sweet!!!!! can't wait to see how storm shadow and the rest of the cast is going to look like

Posted by: MaTcH on March 21, 2008 at 01:15:39

My Question is....how does he see?

Other than that, it looks pretty awesome.

Nothin like a power ranger. Don't know what that guy hooped.
