Exclusive: The Dark Knight Blu-ray Covers! (UPDATE)
Source:Superhero Hype!, Nice Guy Joey, TheHDRoom.Com
September 26, 2008

Superhero Hype! has gotten its hands on a couple early images from the upcoming Blu-ray DVD for Christopher Nolan's record-setting action movie Dark Knight, which has grossed over $520 million domestically and another $450 million internationally.

Although the standard commercial version of the Blu-ray release will probably have the same poster image of Batman standing in front of a building emblazoned with his logo, we've received an image of a Blu-ray cover featuring an image of Heath Ledger's Joker, and we also have a look at the insert of the Special Edition Blu-ray, which will be available at the same time.

Our source that hooked us up with these imagies told us that the Blu-ray would include "BD Live" and that there would be a 3-disc version with the 3rd disc being a digital copy for iPod or other video player.

UPDATE: We just received some more images of covers for the standard Dark Knight Blu-ray, as well as the packaging for a 2-Disc Batpod Limited Edition, from BDS23420:

2-Disc Batpod Special Edition

2-Disc Batpod Back Cover

Blu-ray Front Cover

Blu-ray Back Cover

Both Blu-ray Covers

If that isn't enough Dark Knight Blu-ray goodness, here's and advertisement for the DVD and Blu-ray release:

(Thanks to BDS23420 and Nice Guy Joey for providing the images above.)

Dark Knight is scheduled to be released on DVD and Blu-ray on December 9, 2008, and though it's not available to pre-order yet, you can keep an eye on it Amazon.

Pretty sure this was posted days ago. What is a DVD logo doing on the BD version?

Looks good. They should use Heath over Bale for any promotions they do since he was that movie and Bale was pretty much the supporting actor.

Looks to be a good buy. Inserts are sick. Not sure how the DVD release in December is going to effect the Theatrical re-release in January...

And spidey, you still ain't first!

The main photo is photoshop (fake), look on the side of the Blu-ray cover, it has the words Dvd and I saw that same photo on the SHH! boards a few days ago.

SHH, I still am a loyal reader and love the site. All us that used to post here have since moved on, but make no mistake. we still all come here for the news. You guys are great.

I like the Joker cover and that's the one they should go with. Darn sure looks better than the incredible hulk box.

Posted by: EDouglasCS on September 26, 2008 at 18:04:18

Sorry guys.. hopefully that will do the trick to get rid of those losers. It sucks when a couple people want to ruin all the fun around here for everyone else, but their IP is permanently banned so good riddance.

Good question about the DVD logo... I was wondering if maybe this was fake, but then I thought maybe it just included that because they have a regular DVD in there as well. Not sure.

Posted by: jacob on September 26, 2008 at 18:12:57

Guys, the release date has been confirmed to be December 9. That Joker cover seems to be what they will use for the DVD cover. Anway, you guys can check it out at dvdtown.com

No "Remembering Heath Ledger" featurette? That sucks.
A mental health site diagnosed Darth Vader with borderline personality disorder, and a bunch of visitors freaked out over it. They thought it trivialized real mental health issues. I hope there isn't a similar reaction to the "psychology of Batman" feature.

i want to see behind-the-scenes footage, interviews etc from ledger.. that would be awsome ... but there seems to be no special about him :(
