Goku looks awesome... except he has no muscles, no hair, and wouldn't be caught dead saying "I'm not ready for this."
I've seen a full 15 minutes of this movie total, and it's safe to say epic fail.

Agreed, but part of the majesty of Dragonball was watching these dudes flex and flair - perhaps corny, but uniquely distinct to Dragonball. And since Goku is set as an adult, seemingly one who already knows how to fight, I say needs more brawn.
His embodied characterization, both physically and emotionally seems off in everything I've seen.

I had high hopes for this but now it reminds me too much of street fighter or a lame version of Mortal Kombat.

I know what I'll definitely be doing on April 8th: staying far away from this mess. They have yet to show one redeemable aspect of this movie.

It's unfortunate that I've already decided to see this g*ddamned piece of trash, lol.
This looks terrible, and I love Dragonball!!

i think what's "safe to say" is that this movie wouldn't be accepted no matter how it was adapted or who played what part. i think what all of you were hoping for out of this movie would just make it worse, maybe less of an insult, but a much worse movie. A scrawny modest goku may be way off, but a ridiculously muscular, unbelievable naive goku would just make the movie lame. and of course that's one of the things that made the cartoon so cool, but that's what makes it a cartoon. it's not realistic and i don't think any way of adapting it would satisfy many people

Hooch is crrrraaaazy! Seriously. You guys are crazy thinking this movie will blow. This flick will be waaaaaaay better than any movie, particularly DARK KNIGHT! SMUSH!

just to add though this movie is so going to suck ass.

Well I will agree 100% that it looks corny...I mean, the announcer guy's voice doesn't really help either. But trying to delve beyond the announcements, I'm seeing a lot of small hints even in the trailers of characters being a lot more on-spot than what I originally thought after seeing the first trailer. For instance, in this one, Chi-Chi is showing her controlling nature, and the dual sides of being a fighter, but also taking importance in studying. The more footage I see of Roshi, the more I think they've done the character more decently than what I'd first thought too, with the back-cracking, butt-touching, and even making Goku carry huge bundles of luggage as training I'm assuming. I'm not saying this movie hasn't deviated from the Dragonball anime/manga at all, but with it being live-action, the liberty is there and I believe should be taken (I personally don't want to see a dog mayor in live action...that'd add to the corny factor by 100x). The goal of this movie isn't to get everything 100% correct, but rather to give you that same feeling you got while watching the anime/reading the manga, with character development and story telling. The original Dragonball story is about serious stories/fighting scenes with corny interludes, which is what makes it great, and I think this movie will deliver just that. People that are complaining about this movie were probably just wanting majorly epic yet dark fighting scenes more similar to the Matrix than what this movie is delivering, and yet they'd be leaving out the other half of the equation that makes Dragonball more unique than other things. I'm not saying this movie will be great, or that it will be horrible, I'm just saying that from what I've seen, this has enough resemblance to the original Dragonball that I'll see it and feel fully justified in doing so.

no one wants ridiculously muscular, but the kid doesnt look athletic at all. you'd think they'd try to give him a little more mass. he maybe spent lots of time working on learning sequences and not bulking up. but still.

These sound like the ads for a Disney Channel original movie. I'm not even kidding.

Here's what you do. Go to the movies, actually WATCH the movie, THEN you can complain if it sucks! I know, CRAZY EH? Well that's me I guess! All using logic and what-not!

I just finish watching movie on internet and was really disappointed. The action was really bad and it just did not seem like Dragonball. They talk about air, fire, and water bending when doing the Kamehameha. Having a live action Dragonball is not a bad idea but it has to be more epic like lord of the rings. With lots of action and not boring dialogue.

Saw it and it DOES SUCK....disappointing. Am I surprised? No, it was expected. For those who keep saying " Don't judge it til you see it" MEH, this movie does fall in those expectations and assumptions of negativity. I agree with "I love DBZ." My vision for a film like Dragonball is to be like Lord of the Rings feel/environment wise. Even with a twist of Harry Potter film like visual would of helped a lot. This film just falls too short. A definite reboot from another company other then Fox would suffice in the near future.

This is a movie that will forever change how a Shark Boy and Lava Girl or Spy Kids 3D should be made. Way to go who ever directed this garbage! I have to say though, that Ka-me-ha-me-ha wave scene looks like from one of Power Rangers' episodes. Who ever says this movie deserves a chance or Goku needs some muscles to make this movie bearable is an absolute disgrace to their family and humanity for having no respect for their masculinity, in other words, G @ Y !!!!

YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE TORRENT FOR THIS MOVIE...although you might not want to, because this movie was BAD

I just watched the GOKU clip again after my first post just to see if there is anything else that I can say about this movie, but I must say...I am now, speechless...this is a terrible movie! Not even kidding! I feel bad for the Japanese dudes who created DragonBall.

I'm tired of hearing "epic fail" anytime someone sees something that isn't exactly like the source material. Did you think they were going to make this movie exactly like the manga/anime. How come something can't just be OK or just not all that Amazing. Every movie that comes out, you idiots say either Best movie ever or Epic fail. Where is the middle ground? The movie industry is a BUSINESS. You think these actors, directors, CGI artists, etc. are working so hard on this stuff just to please your fanboyness. They have to make money. They aren't spending $150 Million just to please the fans.

you guys do know this is coming from FOX right? it was destined to be bad once they came out with the poster that had THEIR name on it!!

Guess it'll be a few years before we see a live-action super-sayian.
BUT LO! YouTube has plenty. :D

YAY illegal downloads! Let's all pretend that that's a GOOD thing and watch a horrible bootleg! What's that? The movie industry will die you say? Who cares! I can watch the movie now! I won't be able to in the future because I'm basically being cancer to the movie industry, but instant gratification is WAY better! Like drugs and alcohol! YAY!

I think Street Fighter: The Legend Of Chun-Li despite it's dissapointments is better than Dragonball: Evolution. I predicted, that this movie would focus more on special and visual effects and I was right. I am not that impressed with this movie at all, I am more impressed with the Dragonball Z cartoon series more cartoon and video game based.
