Why god, why do white men believe they can control everything? 8-(

Posted by: dd on December 10, 2008 at 10:16:13

This looks nothing like Dragon Ball. It looks like crap.

Posted by: Matt on December 10, 2008 at 10:18:29

whats with the evolution in the title? there was no evolution in any of the dragonball shows. i mean the trailer looks ok, but i think they need to drop the evolution in the title.

Posted by: im glad they made piccolo green but.... on December 10, 2008 at 10:18:45

the movie still looks like crap. This is very sad for me, ive been waiting for over 10 years for a live action movie, 21 years old now, im finally getting my dream come true and it looks more like a nightmare. Movie has DragonWars quality written all over it

Posted by: Juha on December 10, 2008 at 10:20:02

crappy movie, no doubt.

looks like those video game movies from the 90's. street fighter, mortal kombat, double dragon etc.

Posted by: The Automatic Detective on December 10, 2008 at 10:21:35

Looks cool but Piccolo's makeup looks exactly like Jim Carrey's from The Mask.

YEA!!! that looks freakin' sweet! my expectations of this movie have definitely went up. picollo is green, grandpa gohan, kamehameha wave... MOST of it is there. cant wait to see it.

Posted by: SquirrelGrrrl on December 10, 2008 at 10:25:06

./sigh

well i guess it was bound to happen. rather wait for this thing to be a 99cent redbox rental :p

Oh and if anyone has NOT SEEN the movie Twilight yet GO SEE TWILIGHT!!!!!!

Posted by: Blackhat on December 10, 2008 at 10:27:11

im goung to cry , so long my years of hope for a good dragon ball movie, can u imagine they even killed krilin!!!! damn you john woo you killed anime forever

Posted by: L C on December 10, 2008 at 10:34:25

Evolution is in the title cause people like to throw that word everywhere they can. The only thing evolving in that show is the reverse evolution of the creativity, story, and characters. But what the heck, I love some fight scenes. Dollar rental it shall be.

Posted by: Not Surprised on December 10, 2008 at 10:35:44

Wow...

That looks a lot better than I expected. I mean, it still looks like garbage, but look at the source material. There isn't much you can do with that.

I won't even bother to give that one a rental.

Twilight was a horrible movie IMO..The trailer looks pretty freaking sweet. People gotta remember this isnt DB the manga or anime but a movie.. I bet this movie will be on par with the first X-Men movie

Posted by: mike on December 10, 2008 at 10:40:40

Piccole rocks!! he should nuke cities the whole movie!!

Posted by: JSG on December 10, 2008 at 10:41:05

Crap I'm at work and can't see it. Mayyyybe I should get BACK to work?

Posted by: Mechwarrior on December 10, 2008 at 10:44:17

At least it'll be better than Twillight! Dont see that movie!

Posted by: Fanboiii on December 10, 2008 at 10:47:01

Goku would never say "I'm not ready for this."

Why does the Kame Hame Ha look like steam?

I'll still watch this. It looks like they got the Mafuba right.

The only part of the trailer I like that sticks true to the anime is that Goku has his power-pole with him (the scene where Bulma uses one of her CapsuleCorp capsules for what looks like an atv). Besides that, this unfortunately does not look to be a Dragonball movie. That being said, I will still go see it to find out for myself.

ill stick with my old DBZ toons... thanks for trying and failing...

Posted by: Oi Vey on December 10, 2008 at 10:48:55

Better than I expected because I personally have a difficult time imagining any live action film handling the sheer scale of the Dragon Ball story.

With that said, Dragon Ball is an epic tale and the trailer does not seem to connote a any sense of depth to the storyline. Hoping that the producers aren't hiding behind introducing new characters and special effects so that they don't have to tell the story.

I wish they would have stayed more faithful to the manga and anime. I loved Dragon Ball growing up and always thought it would be awesome to get a live action movie. I fear this is going to be about as faithful as Bayformers, so it will probably suck just as bad.
Why can't Hollywood figure out that movies that stay true to the source material (LOTR, Harry Potter, Spider-man, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, X-men, and Iron Man) often perform better at the box office than movies that make changes (Catwoman, Superman Returns, Godzilla, Planet of the Apes, Ang Lee's Hulk, and Wild Wild West) suck.

Posted by: Fanboiii on December 10, 2008 at 10:53:27

That's dumb how they made the capsules fold out. There's already magic in the movie, so it should just explode out like in the anime.

They would have saved money on CGI to make the fights look more real. That's funny how they turn Piccolo green in post production... probably because we complained so much.

Posted by: Fanboiii on December 10, 2008 at 10:56:42

Story-wise... it seems to follow the Piccolo Daimo story quite well.
