Update: Dragonball Gets a New Title?

20th Century Fox may have extended the title of its upcoming "Dragon Ball" adaptation to Dragonball Evolution. If it's indeed the new title the studio is going with, we should find out for sure soon.

Written and directed by James Wong, the big screen version stars Justin Chatwin, James Marsters, Jamie Chung, Emmy Rossum, Eriko Tamura, Joon Park, Chow Yun-Fat, Texas Battle, Randall Duk Kim and Ernie Hudson.

Opening in theaters on April 8, the film is based on the manga created by Akira Toriyama.

UPDATE: 20th Century Fox has also registered the domain name DragonballEvolutionmovie.com, which currently takes you to FoxMovies.com.

When things evolve arn't they supposed to be better? I want this movie to be good, but i doubt it will be. Hopefully they do better with Dragonball Z, if it gets made.

Lets not forget, that this movie is JUST AN ADAPTATION, very loosely based on the Anime. Im still gonna watch it regardless, Dragonball and Z for LIFE (Forget about GT lol)

ughh this looks just as bad as forbidden kingdom if not worse!!! what is up with western culture represtation of eastern cinema, hollywood just does it wrong, yeh lets get the finest martial artists JC/ JL get them together mix old movie together, and throw in an american kid in it, its crap european cinema is the way, house of daggers, the orphanage, pans' labrynth. new deeper meaningful movies that inspire us and make us go wow, not just throwing a thousand visual effects at us

IF YOURE REALLY THINKING THIS MOVIE IS GOING TO BE ALRIGHT. YOU MUST 12 OR NEVER HAD A GIRLFRIEND!! Somethings just should not be made into a movie .I personally wasnt a fan of the anime but it got a fanbase.So why not keep it an anime but just make it an epic cartoon movie if they can do WALLE. Think outside the box not just make another piece of crap that forces parents to watch garbage with their kids. Remember a certain Street Fighter game that was turned into trash by making a movie.Die Van Damme u suck!

well its offical this aint dragonball anymore first it was goku i was a bit alright who cares if thay picked justin chatwin den it was piccolo whos not green ... very ticked off but blew it over hoping for sumthing gud ... den the trailer hit... directoroli300, Spectre...before you voice your opinions, how about learning how to type. You sound less retarded when you know the basic rules of grammar and punctuation. You could also try reading what you've written before sending and popping in those vital missed words. Sigh...idiots.

On topic, the movie doesn't need a tagline. As a first flick, Dragonball is a fine title. If it gets a second movie that isn't "Dragonball Z", then they can add some words to make it snazzy.

Never read the Manga; rarely watched the Anime but I think it looks like a fine film. I'll go see it, as will half of your ****slingers who just want to piss and moan about things to make your lives feel better.

Honestly, can't some of you comment without hashing out slurs, calling people names or trying your hardest to make someone else feel like ****? I'll call you a retard or an idiot, but only if that is the mentality you bring into the forum first. Have a little respect for people and their opinions.

Every1 is really hostile about this movie. I partly get some of it. But you can't expect someone to adapt a book, comic book, cartoon, or tv show to a movie and be exactly like the original material. Then it would be boring and people would not be excited. It's a new idea. What's wrong with that? That's part of the problem with Hollywood today that there aren't any new ideas. It's just Remake Remake Remake. If they had gone with the original story then this would have been a kids movie. So lets just stop arguing and complaining about it. If you don't like then you don't like it. if you do the you do. I can say I'll probably enjoy it myself since I'm a fan of the original cartoons. I don't see the point in getting so angry about it. It's not like our little comments are going to stop them from making this movie and/or its sequels.

this will never make enough money to make it to Dragonball Z. On top of that, FOX wont put up money to make a dragbonball Z adaptation. You think the actors are actually gonna want to comeback for another one after this fails? Everytime F's up an action genre, its ten more years of waiting for a reboot.
