Next Batman Movie to be Fully Shot in IMAX?
Source:Ain't It Cool News

Ain't It Cool News has posted an interesting rumor saying that Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros. Pictures could be planning to shoot the follow-up to The Dark Knight completely in IMAX format:

The THIRD chapter of Christopher Nolan's Caped Crusader's saga could very well be FULLY shot in IMAX, not IMAX Digital - but the beautiful, stunning IMAX that we saw pieces of THE DARK KNIGHT in.

Now this is something that I'm sure a lot of you will feel is a no-brainer. Nolan blew us away with the IMAX sequences in that film - but it was a very tough process to work in. Mainly due to the limitations of how many available real IMAX rigs there are. Not only that, but lenses had to be created, adapted and god forbid one broke down. Part of the reason that Nolan went forward with INCEPTION first - besides taking a creative break from the cape and cowl adventures... was possibly to create a few new IMAX cameras made to his specs. Once again - the cost of shooting an entire feature film on IMAX... the stock, the time it takes to reset, to load, to move the cameras... Well... it is daunting, but as Nolan proved with DARK KNIGHT - the difference is stunning.

We'll have to wait and see if this does indeed happen.

**** yeah, ****ing warner brothers better not get another director if Nolan needs time they should give him time he ****ing made a great batman movie

it's a gimmick that would distract the filmmakers and thus ruin the film...

plus drive the budget up needlessly

ps. dark knight didn't need imax to be as good as it was.
save imax for the brightly coloured green lantern and superman films.

Not surprising, Nolan loves the format... I was enthralled with the IMAX scenes in the Dark Knight, so I'm ok with this decision.

Ehh...this is tricky. On one hand I agree with the "So" kid. But on the other, I remember how amazing those IMAX scenes in D.K. were. So if they know how to make a great movie, but do it in IMAX, then I say YES.

Maybe Superman will be in the next Batman movie and that's why they need IMAX?
...it could happen

If this rumor is true,I wouldn`t be suprised.Christopher Nolan is a avid supporter of the IMAX technology. If anyone can rise to the daunting challenge of filming an entire movie in IMAX and defying expectations,it`s Christopher Nolan.

um...so?

It's time to reboot the Batman franchise. New actors, new direction. A fresh start.

I'm game. I don't really care how hard it is to shoot a movie in IMAX versus traditional methods because I have no idea what it takes to make a movie with traditional methods. Just make is great.

Iron man who...? " I believe in Chris Nolan ". This guy is a genius in filmmaking. Don't you ever die.

Yet WB is nickle and dimeing/diming(spelling) Green Lantern and might be pushing back shooting over taxs in Australia? Weak WB, weak. Shooting might be getting pushed back becaus yo are being cheap-o's.

can't wait!!!!

It´s not true in my opinion. There are not enough IMAX theatres out there to spent so much money filming it this way.

Who cares if the film doesn't NEED IMAX. the film industry NEEDS Nolan's creativeness and if he does develop all these new IMAX cameras it will change the industry. He is an innovative filmmaker. Love or hate Batman (cough..spiderman fans) you have to admire Nolan and his skills behind a production. WB will probably give him whatever he wants, that's how the industry works He has proven himself to them and not only with the bat but with everything else he has accomplished. The man has amazing cinematography in his films cause he knows what he is doing. Big actors want to work with cause he is great at what he does and I have believed this before bats. Bats just let the rest of the world give him what he needed to be the best.

AICN is for fantards. They're never right about anything. That site is pure fan hype and rumors.

chris nolan is a brilliant director and writer. I'm glad that they are planning to shoot it all in imax. but as long as the movie is good, thats what matters. and i'm glad he came back for this third film. no other director or writer can do as good of a job as chris nolan!!

Posted by: joe on August 26, 2009 at 00:56:42

Blah. Just concentrate on making a good Batman movie first instead of getting all gimmicky. I doubt Nolan will ever top MEMENTO anyway.

Posted by: Fanboiii on August 26, 2009 at 01:02:15

@joe the retard

what do you mean he won't ever top momento? how much money did that movie make? how many awards did that movie get? your opinion is fail.
