first

Posted by: TDK on June 1, 2009 at 00:56:10

Yeah he deserved it, but then TDk lost best movie to the likes of...Twilight...which is exactly why i give things like that award show no credit whatsoever.

All right! Another one!!!! The Joker lives!!!

Posted by: Bertie on June 1, 2009 at 01:03:47

good god, who cares? He's dead. Leave him buried.
I can't believe fanboys are still crying over the drug addict.

@Bertie... wow, just wow...

What ? What a Stupid Comment by You Bertie ! As Far as I know The Guy Was not Kurt K. Bain From Nirvana ...A Junkey etc etc etc ! I Really believe that it was his time to die ! Plain Simple ! There are things that just don't have an sinple answer.. We regular people tend to Glorify Actors , Actresses and forget that these are just normal Humans who got Lucky and make a lot of Money...Yes they drink , Yes They Hate , Yes They Feel Just like the rest of Us ! I'm a Comic book Geek ...What the Man Did is Remarkeeable ! Amazing...Just Like Jack Nikerson...The Previous Joker ! So do your Research Before you Open Your Mounth !

Posted by: Flyingsquirrel on June 1, 2009 at 01:52:51

Ok, BERTIE is a moron!

Dude, if you don't have the decency to know what the hell you are talking about, just keep your damn mouth shut. It would do the world a LOT of good not to have morons like you stating anything, let alone opinion.

Did you not pay attention to one thing about how Heath Ledger passed? He wasn't a druggie. His stupid excuse for a doctor prescribed pills with the wrong interactions. It was those interactions that killed him. If you don't care enough to get the facts straight, then we would prefer for you to not care enough to open your moron hole!

RIP to a very talented actor who did go before his time! Thanks for leaving us great works to remember you by!

Jack Nikerson. :) Speaking of doing research.

I'm glad it went to Heath instead of some punk from Twilight like almost everything else did.

Posted by: Bertie on June 1, 2009 at 02:06:13

@Juan

Ha you idiot

Who is Kurt K. Bain and Jack Nikerson?

What a bunch of tools

Posted by: moo on June 1, 2009 at 02:17:14

Of course this article would attract some trolls. :P

Heath has gotten all the accolades he deserves

That being said, it is damn travesty how TDK was @$$ raped at this so called awards show.

I'll take HBO's True Blood over that Twilight crap any day of the week.

But the people have spoken and TDK's box office is the 2nd highest in history.

Twilight's isnt even half of that.
And never will be

Posted by: SuperheroFan on June 1, 2009 at 02:36:55

Realistically, it's not the actor it's the writers that created this Joker character to a different level or a different take on the Joker. Leger was there just to read the script and directed by the director. Leger SUCKS!! Did you see his previous movies? Good riddance!!

Posted by: SoSad on June 1, 2009 at 02:38:57

Damn right he deserved it, but mtv movie award is a god damn joke! Best fight scene went to twilight, come on wtf!!!

Posted by: Prog on June 1, 2009 at 03:01:09

@ Bertie
F U!!!

Ledger doesn't care because MTV Movie Awards are so retarded.
TDK: Great movie. Twilight: S***!

Posted by: cgoodno on June 1, 2009 at 03:08:22

@SuperheroFan:

Completely wrong, actually. Heath came into the audition with his own concept of the Joker and developed the mannerisms and voice all on his own. They rewrote many of the lines because of what he brought to the table and no one expected him to get the role at all. In fact, most people complained about him getting the role when first announced since it wasn't seen as something he could pull off.

So, the MTV Awards weren't on that much crack after all... Can't believe Twilight won all those awards last night. Heath Ledger winning was their only reedeming factor.

Superherofan and Bertie are both idiots with no emotions at all. Your sensativity: GONE, Your negativity: PRESENT. Why can't you guys just say kudos and let the man rest in peace rather than put him down. Does that make you feel big? Ripping on a dead guy? Do you feel powerful? Somebody should really kick your ignorant @$$es. We will miss you Heath and you left us all with an amazing performance. Rest is peace bro.

the best movie of 2008 was THE DARK KNIGHT, the second best movie was IRON MAN and after that maybe HELLBOY II or somethin' sure's hell not twilight period.

Posted by: U R SICK on June 1, 2009 at 09:09:31

Ok I think I must be blind and deaf because i did'nt see or hear anything in TDK that would warrant anytime of award. Bale was horrible as batman heath just alright as joker and thats it. No scene sticks out to me. No memorable action scenes at all. What was so great?
Oh I know it made alot of money that's most of your arguments but we all knew it was when heath died and the hype train began. We praise TDK for WHAT? For being one of the most unfaithful to its source comic book adaption.
But when Watchmen stays almost identical to its source material you all flame it. Watchmen was everything TDK wanted to be and more. A truly great film with great acting, story and action! END RANT

@ anyone in particular: kurt cobain and jack nicholson. and yes it was unfortunate that heath never got to do brokeback mountain 2: the ride home. lol.( c'mon, i was trying to lighten the mood) rip heath.

the MTV Movie Awards are a joke, just like the rest of their channel. i'm 25 and i don't know a soul who still watches MTV, mostly because i don't hang out with 12 year old girls (which would admittedly be creepy as all hell if i did). Slumdog, TDK, and Iron Man were all better films, but a mediocre "vampire" (and i used that term loosely) movie beats them all? the reason is simple - all the 12 year old girls who actually watch that crap channel who make up the majority of the votes.

congratulations heath, and thumbs-up to that brüno stunt

Posted by: Knight Rat on June 1, 2009 at 11:34:13

Well done, and well deserved. This is not awarded only due to the fact that Mr Ledger passed away at an untimely age, but for his brilliant work as the Joker. He took the character to amazing new heights, and all who know him should take pride in this and all other awards given to him.
