It truly is a shame that Heath is no longer around he was by far the greatest Joker there ever was and ever will be and I would go as far as saying the greatest villain in a movie ever! It must piss the Academy off that they can't ignore a comic book film this time around! THE OSCARS SUCK ANYWAY! GIVE LEDGER AND NOLAN AN OSCAR IF YOU CAN ACTUALLY STOP ACTING LIKE BUNCH A SNOBS THAT THINK COMIC BOOK MOVIES AREN'T WORTHY!

Great to see Robert Downey Jr be nominated, he's had a great year with both Iron Man and Tropic Thunder.

If the average age of the posters on this site is not age 12 then surely they have the intellect of a 12 year old.

To Critcize The Dark Knight would surely bring about a slew of hate comments toward me, especially if I were to say anything derogatory against Mr. Ledger, and although this movie was a monumental success, I just have to go with Robert Downey Jr as the better actor. He did a Fantastic job in Tropic Thunder, and just made the entire movie by being in it.

can someone please explain to me how Wanted is a "superhero" movie? I mean, i know it comes from a comic, but who in it was "superheroic"?

Lemme see...Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gary Oldman and of course Heath Ledger...and that doesn't warrant Best Ensemble?! *sigh*
Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr, Nick Nolte, Jay Baruchel, Brandon Jackson, Steve Coogan and Tom Cruise...and THAT doesn't warrant a Best Ensemble?! *sigh*
All right, all right, calm down. I'll hold off judgment until after I see the nominated films and try and contain my fanboy bias and look at them objectively, to see if they truly are more worthy of being nominated - ah, screw it! I don't care. I hate awards season. XD

Worst Joker EVER! This guy does NOT deserve any of the attention he's been getting for this role. If he had not died, he would surely not be getting praise for such a crap cake performance.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that last comment is meant for getting people upset.
Anyway, every nomination Heath gets is well deserved. I think every knows that he'll surely get nominated for an Oscar. I really hope the Academy does the most awesome thing they will ever do and nominate the Dark Knight for Best Picture and Chris Nolan for Best Director as well. There's one site that supports such nominations that says that a movie like this only comes along once in a lifetime. It would really be a shame if the Academy missed that.
As for the idea someone gave of honoring Heath altogether, I agree. Knight's Tale and the Patriot are great movies, and Knight's Tale is one of my absolute favorites as well.

Not trying to "upset" anyone. It just seems that way b/c you guys are all obsessed with Nolan and Ledger and they sucked. Not everyone loved (or even liked) this movie. Deal with it!
Posted by: Rob on December 18, 2008 at 15:06:11
Yo!...it's fine to not like the movie...but you seem to be egging people on when you say "If he had not died, he would surely not be getting praise for such a crap cake performance." The consensus is that he WAS the definitive Joker. And in my opinion, he was. He figured out the role and it was his devotion to the role that ultimately killed him cuz it was the reason he couldn't sleep and overdosed on sleeping pills. So don't be disrespectful to a guy who went all out for a role by saying it's the only reason he's getting the attention. He's getting the attention because, to most people at least, he was phenomenal.
