Superhero Hype! just received the following announcement from Warner Bros. Records. You can also visit the new official website for The Dark Knight score here.

Two of the world's most renowned composers, Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard, will be performing together live for the first time, on stage at the AMC Loews Lincoln Square IMAX Theater prior to the world premiere of Warner Bros. Pictures' "The Dark Knight" on Monday, July 14, at 7pm.

These two world-class, award-winning composers teamed for the second time to create the score for this highly anticipated sequel to the blockbuster "Batman Begins," which they scored in 2005.

Zimmer and Howard will be signing copies of the soundtrack at Virgin Megastores in New York on Tuesday, July 15, in Times Square at 7pm, and in Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 16, at Hollywood and Highland, also at 7pm.

The soundtrack for "The Dark Knight" will be released on Warner Bros. Records on July 15 prior to the film's nationwide opening on July 18.

Warner Bros. Records will release four different configurations of the soundtrack for "The Dark Knight": a standard jewel case CD, a 2 LP set of heavy-weight 180 gram vinyl version, a special edition digipack, and a collector's edition with special artwork to come after release.

Warner Bros. Pictures presents, in association with Legendary Pictures, a Syncopy Production, a Christopher Nolan film, "The Dark Knight," starring Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Heath Ledger, Gary Oldman, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Morgan Freeman. Nolan directed the film from a screenplay written by Jonathan Nolan and Christopher Nolan, story by Christopher Nolan & David S. Goyer. Charles Roven, Emma Thomas and Christopher Nolan are the producers, with Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Kevin De La Noy and Thomas Tull serving as executive producers. "The Dark Knight" is based upon characters appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. Batman was created by Bob Kane. "The Dark Knight" will be distributed worldwide in theatres and IMAX by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company. The film has been rated PG-13 for "intense sequences of violence and some menace."

Without these two the movie wouldn't be what it has come up to be...Soundtracks can make or break a film and they came correct with Batman Begins and also B:DK

I saw a news item on CNN's Showbiz Tonight where a prominant reviewer talked to (super-fine) Brooke Anderson about Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker. Other's who have seen it are saying that not only is he great in the role, but the movie itself is incredible.

Looks like we're in for something incredibly cool here, guys and gals!!!

---Later!

Posted by: The Stupdenous Yappi on July 3, 2008 at 22:56:33

wow.... i guess i'm not the diehard Bat-Fan i always thought i was, cause that clip looked seriously ****in' lame....... if that's "the real" Joker, then i'm sorry Heath's got nothing on Jack Nicholson, and Mark Hamill.

.... and more importantly, you're all a bunch of douche bags.

Posted by: The Stupdenous Yappi on July 3, 2008 at 23:07:58

BTW, just thought you guys should know that Rachel dies.... Joker hides her, and Harvey in two separate warehouses, making it impossible for Batman to save them both.....

So Bats ends up (unknowingly) picking the warehouse where Dent is located instead.

just thought you guys should know.

The Stupdenous Yappi

That sounds like Batman Forever. Didn't the Riddler, in that movie, do something similar?

Posted by: The Stupdenous Yappi on July 3, 2008 at 23:31:31

yeah, that's what i said.

That's right. Cool. Wait...You were being sarcastic. Poop on me. LOL!

dude, critics and people who have already seen TDK have said that Heath Ledger's performance is oscar worthy, as well as Christian Bale and Micheal Cain. They also said that this film IS Christian Bale's film. He is the star of it and that he was made for this movie. And, I think TDK is going to be the biggest opening superhero movie ever. It's totally going to open bigger then Spiderman did and it's totally going to wipe Iron Man off the map. It just goes to prove that you don't need a lot of technical CGI to make a great superhero film.

I actually had a ****ed up nightmare yesterday were the joker was recruiting various people who you wouldnt expect to do his dirty work, like nurses, priests, teachers, a really ****ed up dream, I guess its a sign that heath ledger really knows how to play the joker.

Lucky L.A. people!!!
I'll just have to be happy with getting the soundtrack...without autographs!
I LOVE the soundtrack to Batman Begins.
They absolutely captured the facets of Bruce Wayne/Batman...
Saw DK last week and am getting that soundtrack too.
Zimmer and Howard are 2 of my favourite soundtrack composers.
