Despite live action anime films seldom making it to theaters, Variety is reporting that Universal is developing a live-action remake of the hit anime Vexille. "Hercules: The Thracian Wars” writer Evan Spiliotopoulos is penning the first draft of the screenplay.
The original film is described as follows:
Japan, 2077: A female agent named Vexille is dispatched to Tokyo to investigate whether Japanese are developing robotic technology, which has been banned by the U.N. due to its potential threat to humankind.
