It was only a couple of weeks back that artist Rob Guillory, who draws the hit Image Comics series Chew, was giving an update on the planned television series based on the book for Showtime. At the time, they were "going back and forth" according to Guillory.
Well, it looks like Showtime has gone back and are passing on the series, according to writer John Layman who went to Twitter to post:
"There will not be a CHEW TV series on Showtime."
At the time, they were also talking about getting "Lost" star Ken Leung to play the main character Tony Chu, a "cibopath" with the supernatural ability to gain a psychic impression of an object by eating it, although they'll probably have to wait until they get a network on board the project before moving forward with casting.
If you're a fan of Layman and Guillory's comic series, let us know what you think of Showtime passing and if you think we might still see a show about a culinary detective somewhere else.
