James McAvoy talked to Empire Online about playing Wesley Gibson in Universal Pictures’ big screen adaptation of Wanted, to be directed by Russian filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov.
“He’s [Gibson] an arsehole. A complete geek [at this moment the cordon rope topples over]. There you go! He does things like that! He’s a complete and utter failure, but he begins a mission to avenge his father’s death.”
Wanted is based on a comic book series by Mark Millar and J.G. Jones published by Top Cow. In the story, Gibson discovers that his long-lost father is an assassin. After his dad is murdered, the son is recruited into a covert organization of killers and trained to follow in his father’s footsteps.
